I stumbled upon this place last year. A great little hobby shop! Lots of model kits and RC planes and rockets. They are knowledgeable about what they sell. Been there since 1986...(No Smith Brothers work there anymore) Prices are fair and reasonable and they have tons of accessories, paints and tools. Hundreds of car and truck model kits! Gundam, Star Wars, military and tons of aircraft models. I was just there and they had some NEW model kits. You HAVE to walk around and look at all the stuff ...a good place to spend a half hour. Planes, trains, cars, rockets, kites, big selection of plastic model kits, spruce and balsa materials, brass and plastic, silkspan, monokote, engine fuel, small tools, huge adhesive selection, much more. My daughter needed some supplies for a science project. You know I yelped for a hobby shop :) found this gem of a place. Reminds me of a radio shack meets craft store with model airplanes and cars. Definitely has a mom and pop 70's vibe. The guy who helped us said some other students came by and picked up some items for the same project. They happened to have a model built of the project as a guide which was super helpful. Street parking -- which can be worrisome and a big lot out back. Enter via the lot. We got a small beginner plane that they recommended! They are really helpful and friendly to beginner hobbyists and I can confident I will be back there to buy another plane once I get better at flying this one. What a sparkling treasure in the valley! Priceless unusual models, rare hobby findings and kits. It's not the largest store but it's packed in densely here. Very friendly staff... Greeted me on entry, politely checked on me... I just made a minor purchase. Recommendations parking in back is very safe compared with trying to park in front with speeding traffic. Plus they now redirect shoppers to go around and back. I bet they get less dust blown in from the street this way. So it's really not that often I will bestow five stars... However, treasure troves like what this shop has are so rare... It would be difficult to drop it down to four stars. So five it is! read more

I just dropped off my Tamiya rc, which I bought incomplete. I needed a receiver and a servo. Mike not only explained what I needed but is installing the needed parts. Time for an update. My opinion is the same as before but I want to particularly commend both Dave and Tony for their friendly and helpful service. After a 9 month sabbatical due to surgery, i am back to my habit of stopping in once a week for supplies and/or models.
