I've always passed by this store inside the Northridge mall and thought they just had collectibles, but I learned recently that they have a pretty good comic book selection. They have weekly releases on one side of the wall and back issues in boxes that are labeled and very organized. Like most places, they offer pre-orders for releases the following week with a 10% discount but I feel like their process is more convenient and personable as you can just message them through IG to put holds. Plus, they offer free bags & boards! The staff is also super helpful making the whole pre-order/hold process a breeze. My favorite part is going through their online backstock. I love how they keep their site updated so it saves me a lot of time having to sift through boxes. They carry the staples but I appreciate how they also have less popular titles. Even if you're not a fan of comic books, I'd still recommend dropping in to check out their other stuff. read more

I remember going to this place when it just opened up and they were mainly selling Lego figures and then other types of collectible figures and then also stickers. Of which I bought several. The staff was always friendly and attentive. Over the years, they've expanded their inventory and now have comics and Funko pops, which definitely appeal to the masses more. It is a fun shop to peruse and you'll always find something fun worth buying. Definitely a nice unique spot in the Northridge mall and I hope more people check it out and keep this mall from becoming the promenade mall or the other defunct malls over the years. Excellent book store! They have a wider selection of books including new releases and back issues all in excellent condition! The employee was super helpful and helped me look for a back issue when I couldn't find it. You can tell this shop is run by people who truely care about comics and their clients. I've been coming here for about a year. They always have the comics I'm looking for and in the case that they don't they will let me know when the next print will come out they also have cards a huge selection of stickers and comic movie and game memorabilia patches and pins etc. Everyone is very friendly and knowledgeable. Everytime I walk in I'm greeted with with a hello and fast helpful service! The price of the comics is the same as anywhere else's and because of all these reasons I keep coming back and will continue to do so!!! read more

They were the kindest comic book workers I've met here in LA. Thank you so much Douglas, Alandra, and Jaden (sorry if I butchered the spelling). Every request I had was met with kind "of course" or a polite "sorry we don't have it". I went here for free comic book day, and even then, all the workers were extremely nice. The selection is great in terms of back issues until 2022, and they give bags/boards for free with each comic. Even if the issues are worth a lot on line, they'll always try and sell for cover price. I came here for the first time today. This is an awesome store. There are a lot of different kinds of collectibles. I mostly browsed through the comic books and ended up buying two of them. The prices were decent. Customer service was great. I like that it's not too big nor too small. I recommend this store if you're visiting Northridge Mall and into collectibles. :) read more

Heroes is a small intimate in size hobby shop on the second level of the NFC off Tampa Ave and Nordhoff... Just above familiar favs like Build-A-Bear and past the Spencer's just after the Verizon and T-Mobile stores and a few spots before the Vans store. They have a lot of friendly and knowledgeable staff and leave you to your devices for exploring items on display, not in cases or behind the counters. Was really stoked and geeking out to find a green lantern ring replica as well as some fun stickers for myself and nephew for the holidays. Other than location and a small lack of eye grabbing color to lure you end more to this fine establishment... Heroes is definitely the hero for your anime, comic, collectible and replica needs... I'm not sure if they can special order any items, but they definitely go that extra step to help their customers. read more

My daughter and I have been here many many times. The staff is kind and friendly. There are some false reviews (from a few people and as It seems, all posted on the same day) with serious accusations and is very upsetting. I hope Yelp stops those reviews because this is a family owned business that doesn't deserve all those false poor reviews. They carry the coolest things for anyone that is interested in collectibles. My little brother and I went into this store looking for a flash mask on Tuesday and Vince who was soo helpful! didn't have one but he still went looking around the store to see if he had one by any chance. Sadly he didn't, but he told us he might be getting one on the following days. On Thursday we called the store and He told us he got it and was holding it for us and we were able to finally get the mask.
