Fire and Dice is located in the Walnut Grove Shopping Center in Northridge. It's the perfect tabletop gaming store, and they host tournaments for D&D, MTG, Pokémon, and more. I've seen tournament entry fees range from about $7 to $20. You can always check out their page for upcoming tournaments, which are super fun. They have tons of board games and other items available for purchase, and it's always exciting to try new games I haven't played before. They're constantly bringing in new products, which makes each visit feel fresh. They're open from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekends and until 10 p.m. during the week.

This is a wonderful community space for gamers and a really fun place to hang out after work or school. I'm here all the time. They host regular events to play in with plenty of space. They specialize in Magic The Gathering and Pokémon but are expanding into board games and other stuff. They have a large card selection for deck-building and lower event entry fees than other stores of the same type. They now have rooms you can book for DnD plus rooms for streamers. They even have Gundam model kits, which I got for a friend's birthday gift. When you go, make sure you say hi to Adam specifically. He's the best!

I got into TCG because of my buddy James. It started as collecting then converted into playing the actual game. There are a small handful of LCS on my side of the valley but are slowly thinning. I've known about Fire and Dice for a couple years now but since it is not local to me, I've never been. Until recently. I recently decided to join a pre-release event for the latest Pokémon set. Since I've recently started to build decks and play the game I thought I would like to take the time to experience doing it in public and meeting new people. At first since I didn't know much I was pretty intimidated. While the event started I started to talk to some people around while building the deck. While playing our three rounds, I definitely felt more comfortable, but I may have talked more than played. lol Overall I had a great first experience. I thought I would totally bomb but regardless if I did it was mainly for the social aspect of the event. Comparing FAD to other LCS, I would say that their gaming are is pretty nice. Most LCS' gaming area just feels like tables and chairs laid out and that it. While FAD's gaming area feels like an actual section to play in. I like that they have monitors to designate what is going on and think that is very nice on the presentation and enhances the experience. Parking: small private lot VERDICT: Rinse and repeat

We went to play DnD. It was inexpensive and everyone was nice. Good time. Lots of laughs. And I got to slay some demons with my best friend.

They have weekly releases on one side of the wall and back issues in boxes that are labeled and very organized. Like most places, they offer pre-orders for releases the following week with a 10% discount but I feel like their process is more convenient and personable as you can just message them through IG to put holds. Plus, they offer free bags & boards! The staff is also super helpful making the whole pre-order/hold process a breeze. My favorite part is going through their online backstock. I love how they keep their site updated so it saves me a lot of time having to sift through boxes. They carry the staples but I appreciate how they also have less popular titles. Even if you're not a fan of comic books, I'd still recommend dropping in to check out their other stuff.

Of which I bought several. The staff was always friendly and attentive. Over the years, they've expanded their inventory and now have comics and Funko pops, which definitely appeal to the masses more. It is a fun shop to peruse and you'll always find something fun worth buying. Definitely a nice unique spot in the Northridge mall and I hope more people check it out and keep this mall from becoming the promenade mall or the other defunct malls over the years. Support small business!

The balloon are in the middle of the store right when you walk inside. They had some great choices and you don't have to pay for the helium, just for the balloon themselves. The prices will vary depending on which one you get. I asked an employees if I can purchase the balloon first and then come back to get it filled with helium but she told me it's better to do it all at once. So I'll come back on Saturday morning to do that. I also decided to walk around the store since I also had to use the bathroom. The bathroom is toward the back of the store but it was closed for whatever reason. I saw that this Michael store now has a self checkout station, they didn't have that before. The staff are friendly and ready to answer any questions you have.
