I am going to provide a honest review . Unfortunately, first term is designed for you to fail ( especially if you have Meghan ) . Luckily, I had Adrian and he was wonderful. Adrian gets straight to the point , so it's easier to retain the information . Meghan, unfortunately confuses her students and over talks and gets off subject . She provides too much unnecessary information. - if you attend the school, Please get in Adrian class. Do I recommend the school NO. They have one clinical instructor Maya, who is very informative and will help you with upcoming exams while at Clinical's . Mary is an instructor and she over talks students belittles the students. She lies always comes to the clinical site late and uses her authority . She likes to save face to make herself look good in front of Jen and Meghan to keep her job . She tells students to do the job incorrectly unless board is there . She's very unprofessional I would attend clement career college in Gardena it's 11 months and has a high passing rate . Very hands on program . CDI isn't 13 months it's more like 15 months you might as well go for your RN. The school reputation is going down hill. The school doesn't have good Clinical sites . You'll be in a nursing home for pretty much all your terms . Go elsewhere where ! read more

Think twice before enrolling at CDI. I gave this program everything I had. I maintained great grades, helped my classmates study, and spent countless hours making sure the people around me succeeded. I wasn't just another student I genuinely cared about becoming an LVN and wanted everyone around me to succeed as well. Before everything happened, I proudly promoted CDI because I truly believed it was an amazing school. I posted a video about my experience that went viral, and because of that, I had numerous people reach out asking about the program and wanting to enroll. I spoke highly of CDI because I believed in what they stood for. Looking back now, I regret encouraging people to attend a school that ultimately showed me so little grace. After posting a video from my first day of skills lab, I was placed on a leave of absence. I removed the video when I was instructed to, but that isn't the point. The point is that I was forced to sit out for nearly four months over what I believe was a minor, first-time mistake. By the time I was able to return, I no longer wanted to. The way I was treated completely changed how I viewed the school. What made everything even more frustrating was watching what I believed to be inconsistent discipline. During my time in the program, I was aware of students who had been involved in much more serious incidents at clinical sites, yet they remained in the program. Meanwhile, I lost months of my education over a social media post that I immediately corrected when asked. I never felt like CDI advocated for me as a student. Instead, I felt like protecting relationships with clinical sites mattered more than standing behind a student who had worked hard, earned good grades, and genuinely wanted to become a nurse. This experience delayed my education, cost me time and money, and took a serious toll on my mental health. I am now beginning therapy because of the emotional impact this experience has had on my life. I hope CDI realizes that behind every student is a person with dreams, responsibilities, and a future. Accountability is important, but so is fairness, consistency, and giving people the opportunity to learn from a mistake. Unfortunately, I don't feel I was given that opportunity. read more

During my time at CDI College, I was experiencing some of the most difficult circumstances of my life. I was going through a divorce, dealing with community property disputes, attending court hearings, raising my young son, managing my household, and trying to keep up with the demands of nursing school at the same time. I remember one incident where I became very upset after being accused of being late when I was actually in the restroom. I broke down crying and asked a teacher for help. Afterward, I reflected on my behavior and apologized sincerely, even bringing flowers as a gesture of goodwill. What troubled me most was that after this incident, I felt I was treated differently. I was repeatedly questioned about drug use and told that my drug tests showed concerns. The only medication I was taking was Klonopin, which had been legally prescribed by my physician. Rather than receiving understanding and support during a very difficult period of my life, I often felt judged and stigmatized. Looking back, I felt that certain members of the administration wanted me to leave the program. I also felt that I was not provided the same level of guidance and training that other students received. For example, during a clinical shift, I had an important divorce court hearing. I specifically asked my clinical instructor whether I could attend the online hearing from the yard during my break, and I was told that I could. Later, I was criticized for doing exactly what I had been given permission to do, which left me feeling confused and unfairly treated. My experience was that there was very little empathy or support for students facing significant personal hardships. Nursing school is challenging enough, but students dealing with major life crises need guidance, understanding, and professionalism from school leadership. I do want to acknowledge the individuals who treated me with kindness and respect. The accounting and financial aid departments were consistently helpful and supportive. In addition, Kim, one of the nursing leaders, was compassionate and understanding toward students and demonstrated genuine concern for their well-being. Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend this school to students who are struggling with major personal challenges and are looking for a supportive educational environment. While others may have different experiences, I felt that empathy, understanding, and student support were lacking from portions of the administration during my time there. read more

This school makes life unnecessarily difficult for its students with their excessive exit exams. Instead of preparing us for success, they overload us with seven different exams spaced usually only one day apart which is unrealistic, stressful, and frankly, counterproductive. At this point, we've already completed all of our required clinical and classroom hours, so these exams serve no real educational purpose. They only exist to protect the school's reputation and numbers, making sure fewer students fail the NCLEX so the school itself doesn't get flagged or investigated. On top of that, the environment is toxic in other ways. There is an employee who oversees makeup hours that is blatantly unprofessional she once went on a racist rant about immigration during the time of the ICE raids. Considering a large portion of the student body is Hispanic, this was not only offensive but completely inappropriate for someone in her position. And then there's the financial aid office. The financial aid staff member is not just SUPER rude, but also suspicious in how she manages accounts several students, myself included, have gotten the sense that the books aren't being handled transparently or honestly... While this school has its downsides such as certain instructors making students feel dumb or belittled for asking questions it's only fair to acknowledge that there are also some truly amazing instructors who go above and beyond. Tara, Robyn, Adrian, Sheerah, and Nadim, stand out for their knowledge, patience, and genuine support for their students. They make a real difference in the learning experience and remind you what good teaching is supposed to feel like. Unfortunately, the positives are overshadowed by the bigger issues within the program. If you're considering this school, please do your research. There are plenty of programs out there that only require one standardized exit exam, which is far more reasonable and fair. Don't waste your time and money on an institution that puts its own image before the wellbeing, respect, and education of its students. read more

Don't go to this school, very bad school, instructor don't care about there student, if you have 1 absent you will be drop from school and they won't give you a transcript, so basically months of internship for nothing. Be aware of this school. Clinical instructor leave a needle on patient bed multiple times and she kept blaming it on student. Make you take care of a covid patient, risk your life then if you catch covid, they will mark you absent and drop you without giving you a proper transcript. If you fight for your right, they will drop you without any transcript, your money will be down the drain. Theory teacher doesn't know how to teach properly without a good theory lesson. He sells snack and chips in class for student. Save your money and don't go to the school , you will waste your time and money and gas for nothing, they will not care about you. They only care about your money. Once you paid them, there's no money back. You will waste all your time gas on all the clinical time but if you missing one clinical day, they will drop you, and won't give you a chance to go back. But refused to give you your transcript. They will make you do all the internship time in hospital. You will be cleaning personal secretions, urine, person fluid, covid patient, pneumonia, all the horrible diseases, even AIDS and HIV patients, basically all the dirty work but if you got sick from covid, you will be dropped without any explanation. They don't even care about student, they will try to hide their flaws as much as they can and will tell you "forget about it and move on"-this sentence was said by the CEO of this school over the phone with me after I was dropped from school. I graduated from CDI on June 2022! I passed my NCLEX on the first attempt with 75 questions! It was an amazing experience because of the friends I made along the road, helpful staff, and their financial aid! I recently graduated from CDI in June of 2022! I passed the NCLEX on my first try with only 79 questions and I believe the minimum was 75. This school is fully accredited and has a staff dedicated to their students. They make themselves available through phone or email when you need them. It took me a little while to figure out what method of studying worked for me but after I did that and put in the work, things went pretty smoothly. It's not easy and you'll probably find yourself crying a couple times a week (lol) but the teachers and staff are super helpful and want to see you succeed! I hit a couple bumps in the road (life happens) but they always did what they could to help me. In my experience they have always gone above and beyond. You will have to learn to find a balance in your life between homework, studying, clinicals, theory, work and having a life but in the end it is so worth it. If I had to do it all over again...I'd still go with CDI. read more

So glad I went to CDI as well as my family members. The instructors are very helpful and the way the school is organized by the DON will definitely make you pass NCLEX as long as you-- pay attention to lectures, TAKE NOTES, read the textbook/workbook and do the exercises, Saunders, and ESPECIALLY ATI. Kim is wonderful and really cares about the students. The instructors, especially Ms Fae, taught me how to become an organized, caring competent nurse. The school itself is smacked in a quiet neighborhood and has a homey feel to it. It's a family vibe between classmates, schoolmates, staff, and teachers; you can even bbq at the back patio area. The skills lab is bigger and has more mannequins to practice with compared to surrounding vocational schools I've visited. The clinical sites and the staff in each of them are amazing and will prepare you in the real world. From SNF to subacute, acute to medsurg/telemetry, to psych, to ICU to observing surgeries, and to maternity and peds. It's an exciting feeling and CDI will guide you through that journey. read more

enrolled in CDI back in 2023 with high hopes of recieving a quality education, but what I experienced was an unorganized nightmare. I felt that the lack of instructors just pushed you ahead in the term and just wasn't well prepared for the next. When asked for tutoring we were given points back and that was the best beacuse I then understood the assignment. Ms.Robyn wasn't fair with the grading and when I would ask for sample questions she would state to me look at the study guide. Some times I would study it and look over the notes, I did improve over time but then when it came to the test it wasn't the same as to what we had learned in class. The clinical instructors were helpful but sometimes didn't want to be at the site and would text the students to not come to the facility because they were running late or wouldnt want to be there. I felt like i wasted my time driving and money for the school to not reimbursh me for the driving I had done and the time I out into the school. When asked if I can appeal for a third time they said " Great adn will look into letting me try a third time" I voiced my concerns and had told them that I was willing to try a third time and made so much process. But due to me failing the second time there wasn't an option even though it was 6%. I even asked to retake an exam ! Their appeal rule is unfair and shouldn't be an option if you can't appeal a third time. I was told sometime they do allow a third time to most students. I had mention I have my kid and all I went thorough a lot to keep my grades and improved but she wasn't fair. Kim and Jen just looked at me and could've said no instead of making me attend a pointless appeal. This school has its ups and downs but wasn't fair to an appeal of 6% to my grade ! Don't bother appealing with this school because all they are going to do is look at you and say " we can't help because you failed our program" No your instructors failed me to learn as much as I could. I enjoyed the program as much I could bare but just couldn't meet the requirements. "I wouldn't want you to waste your money and time with this program all they are going to do is give you ATI question from the homework not challenging you from the ATI, Send you home early from clinical sites or text you and tell you not to come to the facility because the instructor doesn't want to bve there for that day. Or even help elaborate on assignments that were given to you and won't help you with the tutoring even though they stated they would give you points back or credit" don't believe it PS: they wanted me to take this review away I did but I wont let my voice be silent all I asked was an assignment of worth 6% wasn't asking much. To those who apply here please don't be fooled by the credit statement they won't do it. read more

I graduated 5/2020 from the LVN program. I love with the program and school. The teachers are extremely helpful and do everything possible to help us students succeed... tutoring, zoom meeting etc. The program is fast paced and requires a fulltime commitment. I'm not gonna gas anyone up by saying the program is easy. Its difficult- not just the studying but the amount of time and focus the program requires its overwhelming but ITS POSSIBLE. I worked fulltime graveyard, couch surfed (for 4 months), maintained a healthy-happy relationship and got pregnant the last 3 months, and I was able to pass!!! So you all can do it too. The students are diverse. The teachers are friendly and have American accents (sounds weird to have to note but it's important when incredulity 30k). The clinical sites are hands on. read more

Absolutely recommend this school to anybody who is interested in obtaining their LVN license. As a former student, I will say this was the best decision I ever made. I was really shocked to be so engulfed in all of the staff support due to crazy horror stories about nursing school. LOL KIM, ALL of the clinical instructors, the cohort instructors...like really went above and beyond to make sure I had everything I needed to be successful, even while having to take an LOA due to pregnancy. Now I'll be honest, nursing school is no joke, and it requires a lot of discipline, but I COULD NOT have graduated without the staff always readily available to be of assistance. It was unreal. as a former CDI student, the school doesn't even deserve one star first of all the school has been called bootleg I got dropped from term 2 four weeks shy for going into term 3 because I ended up getting sick. Had two valid doctors notes and Kim everybody knows who Kim is she's not a very approachable and clearly you have to find her in a good mood for her to even have a a conversation with you ,Everybody warned me when I started at the school, she picks and chooses who she wants to be nice with her who she gives favoritism their school policy is a joke I got dropped because I went over the aloud absences that I could've easily done on a make up day but it's all money for them on top of that. I requested my transcripts which look fake, and they look bootleg as well because they're not even acceptable. They're not even credited to take to another school for you to pick up and continue where you left off I would never ever ever recommend the school to nobody and to top it off they make it difficult for you. They really don't want to help you and they're having a lot of issues with other students and students even fighting with their clinical instructors at clinical sites. Yeah, the school has lost a lot of value and the last few years there are people that I originally started with when I started the school who still haven't even exit out of the program. So very thankful for my experience at this school. Like every school it has its up and downs but hands down more ups for sure. I went through so much while in school to become a Vocational Nurse and I can honestly say that because my program was part time it made things a lot easier. The owner Janis Newton and her daughter Jennifer Miller were amazing and super hands on with me. In financial aid I had Tina. I can honestly say the absolute best part of my experience were the instructors I had; Oscar Lamas, and Adina Hart were two of my favorite. I had Oscar for both clinical instruction and in the classroom. He truly made things make since and made the connections in my head come together. Adina pushed me to do things outside of my comfort zone when it came to clinicals. I can honestly say she had the ability to look at her students and find their strength and weaknesses and push them to do better. As a recent graduate, this 18 month program has been very challenging, in a good way of course. Our theory instructors and clinical instructors were beyond amazing. They genuinely showed interested in you and cared about your progress in the course. I am thankful for all the staff because without them I would not have been able to succeed. The school is amazing and their library was fully equipped for us to study and prepare for our exams. One of the great things about finishing is the NCLEX review course that was offered to us after we graduated. It helped us to be prepared for the state boards and it gave us even more confidence that we would pass. I found out yesterday that I passed my Nclex. YAY !!!!! But I could not have accomplished such a great Goal without Career Development Institute. From the very start you get a positive feeling.. This school is a complete scam! Do not go here! I went here for half of the LVN program & they screwed me over along with most of the other people in my class. Very unprofessional staff. Their best asset was a teacher who was amazing & extremely knowledgable but she quit due to constantly being mistreated by the staff. All they care about is your money NOT the students or their education. You will spend lots of time, hard work, & thousands of dollars here only to have them throw irrational obstacles in your way so that you cannot obtain your nursing license. I wish I would have listened to the former students who warned me not to go here but I still went due to the convenience of the location. Really nice at first, but didn't appreciate the run around with mother and daughter. Kept me waiting for 2 hours to be seen then find out I'm meeting with a different person than the one I've been seeing for the past 2 week. They could of easily apologized but no, telling me they think it's best I should go to another school. Really?? You don't have to tell me twice. "We are a team they kept saying.
