Sometimes I have a hard time adjusting to the 21st century. But the horrible pain from bone spurs made open to change. During a long health crisis, I went to many doctors trying to find out what was happening and searching for some relief (dizziness, loss of balance, blurry vision, tight/painful neck, extreme fatigue and brain fog). Dr Smith is the only one who was able to spend the necessary time with me, name what was happening and then treat me consistently. He used muscle testing to confirm what was out of balance and treated each organ, ligament, muscle, vertebrae as needed. I did kinesiology, pressure point adjustments and laser therapy. Now that Dr. Farthing has retired, the new doctor is unacceptable. Besides complaining about losing all his money and having to go back to work again, he made a homophobic joke so openly I was shocked. This place is absolutely not LGBT-friendly when a doctor so openly uses slurs like this. Also I was in so much pain and had an injury following our last visit - despite telling him the way he was adjusting me was different than usual and painful. I requested my medical records, and they ignored my request. So much for being a patient there for over two decades. Doc Smith is a very different kind of chiropractor. I AM AMAZED AT MY RESULTS! After three weeks of his treatments I was free from (literally) 30 year old neck and back pain. Diagnosed with scoliosis (curves in my spine) in my 20's, I was told "it is what it is" and that I would have to learn how to live with it and manage it. I did yoga, massage, exercise, blah blah blah - whatever I could to keep the pain in check. But I lived with pain for decades, even while seeing other chiropractors and medical doctors. When I first saw Doc Smith He said he could relieve my pain and fix my scoliosis. What?! And he delivered! He not only has relieved my pain, he has STRAIGHTENED MY SPINE. He is not the "crack-crack-next" kind of chiro at all. He investigated my unique symptoms and structure and treats every case uniquely. He really knows his stuff, and uses various therapies: adjustments, traction, exercise, laser, ultrasound, shoe inserts... He seems more like a really well rounded country doctor than a chiropractor. And he is an easy going, kind, considerate man who clearly wants to make a difference. My husband -- who was super chiro-skeptic until witnessing my fabulous results -- is seeing Doc Smith now for his lower back pain and is experiencing improvements. I haven't been at Chiropractor for a couple years. My back began to hurt, then my pain became strong enough for me to consider to go to a chiropractor. I came to Dr Smith's office on Friday, I filled out new patient paperwork and made an appointment for the following week. Dr Smith came to the front desk, we greeted each other. He asked me if I was in any pain, I replied that I was. He said that he has a few minutes before his next appointment and he can try to help me since I was in pain. I've had chiropractic care since my 40s. For the last 30 years I've had all manner of excellent experiences with chiropractors. My most recent experience is with Dr. Smith (from 2/23 to the present). Not only is he addressing my scoliosis issues with the usual spinal manipulation techniques, his knowledge and expertise using other treatments (specifically Neural Organization Technique and Neural Emotional Technique) have been dramatically effective and resulted in some very positive, most unexpected outcomes. Similar to my previous chiropractor, he has a kind, gentle, nature and informative approach that really supports my natural inquisitive tendencies. I am the kind of person who has keen powers of observation, and it feels to me like Dr. Smith and I work together more as a team than the more traditional, "I am the doctor/you are the patient" approach. In 2016, I under went an exhaustive 30 day training session and felt that I needed an adjustment. I located Dr. James Farthing from the Blue Cross Blue Shield website and the rest is history. "Rack'em and Crack'em" was how Dr. Farthing described his practice and I couldn't be more satisfied. I enjoyed the small-talk and I felt like a new man after my session. I was lucky that I was able to get a same-day, new-patient appointment. Dr. Farthing's staff (Lorraine and Kelsey) were helpful as well. I have been seeing chiropractors for 25 years and Dr. Farthing, by far, is the most thorough, most knowledgeable, and applied the most techniques to my body that I've ever known; and I've seen some really good chiros. I felt the lady who answered the phone was kind. When I actually visited the clinic, I found it like home. Dr. farthing is really kind, like Dad, caring, and professional. His staff is also warm and smiling. After treatment, I immediately asked them when I could bring my mom. ^^ My lower is much better now. Dr. Farthing was very professional and helpful, however, his staff are not. I received a bill from then with a balance that I owed for what my insurance did not cover. The bill simply stated a balance without presenting an itemized list of the charges and what had already been paid. When I called to request a more detailed, itemized statement, I got an attitude from the "billing department". They did not want to provide me with it. After I recurred it, I found they didn't account for a payment that was made. They then contacted me saying that their "patience had run out" and that they were sending me to collections, this after I had to practically beg for an itemized statement. They are very unprofessional, and either very careless and unorganized, or run an unethical business. read more

I am not a big fan of chiropractic care. In the past I have been to them and ended up worse off. I have been in agony. I was referred to Dr. Farthing. They made room for me in their busy schedule and got me in right away. another post said " have no fear Dr. farthing is here", that is an old saying from Underdog. That tends to give away people's age. well I have to say that the saying is spot on! The staff is top shelf!! From the front office as well as the back office. And Dr. Farthings treatment had me 90% improved when I got up the next day! WOW what a difference! Thank you to EVERYONE at the office! You can have a fantastic Doctor, but if the front office is bad then your first impression of the office will have you going elsewhere.
