Smith Ford refused to service a warranted part after I mentioned the possibility of "seeking legal counsel." Smith Ford had already ordered the new TCM, which was on an indefinite backorder (potentially several months), and were working to arrange a rental or loaner car for me. As a result, I had to tow my car to another Ford dealership 18 miles away. This new dealership confirmed that the faulty TCM could indeed cause damage to the clutch assembly ($2,600 repair). Fords handling of the DPS6 transmission problems has been marked by multiple technical service bulletins and the extension of warranty coverage. Despite these measures, customer complaints persisted, with many reporting continued shuddering, hesitation, and slipping even after repairs. Given Ford's apparent efforts to minimize losses related to the transmission issue and their coordinated actions with dealerships to deny repairs caused by defective, warrantied parts, it's evident that they will go to great lengths to avoid accountability or they are really bad mechanics. After 20+ years of loyalty to Ford, I've had enough. Once the TCM is repaired, I'm selling all my Fords. _______________________________________________________________ I brought in my 2013 Ford Focus due to ongoing transmission issues that have been present since day one. The dealership found that the Transmission Control Module (TCM), which is still under warranty, was faulty, but the Clutch Assembly was damaged and not covered under warranty. Despite this, Smith Ford technician (Ron) and Service Manager, who NEVER returned my phone calls, continued to insist that the TCM couldn't have caused the damage to the Clutch Assembly ($2,600 repair), which makes ZERO sense. The faulty TCM in the 2013 Ford Focus can directly cause damage to the clutch assembly. The PowerShift transmission relies on precise TCM operations to engage and disengage the dual clutches correctly. When the TCM malfunctions, it can lead to improper clutch engagement, overheating, and accelerated wear and tear. This malfunction results in erratic shifting and excessive strain on the clutch components, ultimately causing premature failure. - Erratic Shifting: The TCM's failure to regulate gear shifts properly leads to sudden and unexpected changes in gears, placing undue stress on the clutch components. This stress can cause the clutch plates to wear out faster than normal. - Overheating: Malfunctioning TCMs often result in the transmission overheating, which in turn affects the clutch assembly. Overheating can lead to the clutch plates warping or becoming damaged due to thermal stress​. - Improper Clutch Engagement: A faulty TCM can cause the clutches to engage and disengage incorrectly, leading to slippage and increased wear. This improper engagement is particularly damaging during stop-and-go driving, where precise clutch operation is crucial​​. Ford faced several lawsuits, including a notable class-action lawsuit that resulted in a settlement covering 1.9 million owners. The settlement provided compensation for repairs and extended warranties. I bought a used car for my teenage daughter at the end of July. Ryan, the salesperson, listened to what I had to say and didn't try to sell me car that was unsuitable. He gets a 4 1/2-star rating. Management on the other hand does not. The car's tires had good tread, but dry rot around the inside, which we could not see. We replaced 2 tires and asked Smith Ford to replace the other 2. This was a Ford Blue Advantage Certified Car. It was supposed to have a 139-point inspection before it was put on the lot. If this inspection was done correctly, we would not be replacing four tires 2 months after purchase. Smith Ford should honor the Ford Blue Advantage and replace the tires. Needless to say, I will not recommend Smith Ford to anyone or do business with them again. read more

I decided to choose Smith Ford for my next vehicle purchase as I have done in the past multiple times. I was hoping to be offered a honest and fair deal on a decent vehicle like before but that just did not happen this time. Instead I was offered a sub-par vehicle at a too high price and was told if i wanted the damage on it repaired, i would have to pay even more for the vehicle. This is not the Smith Ford I have done business with in the past. I ended up going to a different ford dealer who took amazing care of me and has earned my future business. I will never return to Smith Ford again. I just wanted to share my experience in case it will help people make a informed decision before shopping here. Their prices are just too high on new or used cars. Other ford dealerships offer better selections and prices for everyone's budget. I used the service center to diagnose my vehicle troubles because I needed to have a recall service preformed. They charged me $110 to diagnose the problem. Their diagnosis was the same as the diagnostic code I had already had checked out, that the turbo boost was having problems. They told me that it needed to be replaced and would cost me $2500. I took it elsewhere, and they told me the issue was that ants had nested in my turbo boost, which is covered by my insurance. This means either they didn't actually inspect the vehicle, or they chose to lie to me because they would not make as much by using my insurance. read more

AVOID smith ford body shop at all cost. I took a basically brand new truck in to have it fixed after scraping against a telephone pole. After the work was completed, there were scratches all over the truck including one of the WINDOWS. I could actually feel the scratches with my fingernail in the glass. There was also blotchy and runny paint all over the panels they attempted to blend with the new ones! This will cost me hundreds of dollars more to fix the incompetence of this body shop. It has taken 3 visits to fix 1 recall for the back up camera. I scheduled an appointment the first visit so the dealership could ensure they had all of the parts on hand to correct the recall. First visit, 3 hours later, they did not have the part.... Second visit, 3 hours later, they did not have the part.... Third visit still pending for part to arrive. My initial experience was pretty good. I got a diagnosis from another repair shop in Conway. Smith Ford was able to determine that the other shop's diagnosis was incorrect and found the problem and fixed it. The Bad: When I left the dealership my ABS light was on. Figured it was just a fault light from the work they did and I could clear it with my scan tool......It wouldn't clear. Also, the bolts that hold in my ECM we about 75% out and not screwed in like they should have been being that was the primary reason my SUV was in their shop. So I ended up having a bad Wheel Speed Sensor that just coincidentally went bad. I took it back to Smith Ford for them to fix. What was supposed to be a simple 1 day fix ended up being much longer. They claimed they were sent the wrong part and because of that my vehicle wouldn't be finished that day (Friday), but that the Tech was coming in Saturday to finish it and I'd get a call and it would be ready Saturday. Well, no call by 11:15am (Close @ 12pm Sat) so I called them, spoke with Eric. Was told I wouldn't get my ride until Monday or Tuesday and Saturday was for oil changes, tire work, etc....small stuff. Sure enough though he confirmed the Tech was there and my vehicle was in the bay. Not sure what happened but I'm slightly displeased. I've been without my primary vehicle for over a month. Very tempted to search for another repair shop to take my vehicles to in the future. read more

I have two lists. Smith Ford and Matt Kincaid are on my short list of dealerships and sales people I will conduct future business. The long list of dealerships I will not return too is exhaustive. The most exhausting thing about buying a vehicle is finding a dealership you can honestly deal with that has a vehicle you desire. Our initial contact wasn't without conflict however. I actually commend both Matt and the sales manager, Chris Feagan on handling the conflict. It turns out Ford will display both Ford Discounts and the 0% financing on the web together in the advertisement however both are not available together. The sales team went out of their way to make it right and we compromised before I ever set foot on the lot. There was no required information to talk about pricing. I don't think I ever gave them my social or any overly personal information that I didn't volunteer. When we arrived, Matt got the keys for the car we wanted to drive and was extremely pleasant without pressure. After we agreed on the price and details, Flo King pleasantly went through the details with us and shared other offers we had available without heavy handing our choices. My GF and I went home and came back with a check the next day. No surprises no heavy pushes and continued to be pleasant and helpful throughout the process even after the actual deal was complete. The more we learn about our car the more we like it. We really appreciate Smith Ford in Conway and next time Matt will be the first I communicate with instead of the last. P.S. Avoid Smith Ford Body shop. They have dismissed the best manager they had, Leland. Now they have a manager with a poor work history and he has been let go from other body shops for poor performance. He has a track records of not being a good manager or employee. Last shop he managed he was fired after 2 months. He will never give the same service that Smith Ford customer are use to having or deserved. Other people who know him and know he is the manager at Smith Ford Body shop have said they made a mistake and he will run it in the ground. Take you business somewhere else!! read more

I have a 2017 F-250 that I bought from Crain Hyundai(across the road)that had the steering wheel controls and radio screen go out on recently. They had it 3 1/2 weeks before they ended up having to bring it to Smith Ford, by what I understand, because they could not fix the issue and needed a certified Ford dealer to complete the work. The advisor at Crain told me on 4/23/21 that the vehicle is now with Ford and if I had any questions to talk to Patrick. I not only called that very day to speak with Patrick, but I also came to the service department to speak with him, but he had already left for the day. An advisor, Lori (far right hand desk) looked on the computer and told me it would be next week before they could get to me and check back next week. I have called several times Monday-Friday of this week to speak with Patrick and left at least 2 voicemails entailing who I was and would he please return my call so we could discuss the said issue with my truck. I never not once got to speak with him, nor did he call me back. The Crain advisor told me that he had spoken with Patrick that week and that Patrick told him parts should be in Friday and they should have it finished Friday evening (4-30-21). I called several times to speak with Patrick Friday, and still no answer. So I went to Conway that evening and stopped by the service department. When I walked into the office, where the advisor desks are, Lori was already speaking with a female customer with very similar issues that I am currently experiencing in regards to not being informed about what is going on with our vehicles, the current process of said vehicles, and addition to not being able to get anyone on the phone. When Lori and the female customer had a break in their conversation, I asked the lady, "are you having a hard time getting someone to answer you on the phone or tell you anything about your vehicle also?" And and while she was explaining that she was, Lori went to a back office and got me your business card and said "here, call him, he is the service manager!" So I asked if she knew anything about my truck, that she was whom I had spoken with the Friday a week before about my truck. And at that time Eric walked in and asked what I was there for and I told him why I was there, to check on said truck, the process of it being fixed, etc. After calling Patrick on his cell phone and figuring out where the process was on my truck, Eric told me Patrick advised him it still wasn't fixed and he was still waiting on parts. So I told Eric that I would just call back Monday and check up on the process. During this time the lady Lori had been speaking with had left, and when I began to leave I turned to Lori and said "Ma'am, I didn't mean to bombard with all the questions about my truck but I was just wanting someone to even pick up the phone so I could figure out what was going on with my truck". She never even looked at me! She didn't even acknowledge that I was even speaking to her! I just said "ok" and walked out! So I called the Service Manager Mr McFadin and left him a voicemail of what had gone on and he actually called me back and was very apologetic about the situation and assured me it would get handled. So I went back Monday and spoke with Patrick and he assured me my parts would be in THAT week and I would have my truck fixed by the weekend. I waited till Thursday and still no word on when to pick the truck up so I called Patrick and he said they still hadn't received the part yet and he was going to call and check on the part and he would call me RIGHT back.Still again, no call back, so I went up there Friday evening and spoke to Patrick and told him I was still waiting on him to call me back and he told me that he didn't know anything! Even though he told me he would call me back! So I said I've waited over a month, give my keys I would be taking it back, after Patrick laughed and said "ok why don't you take it back to Hyundai lol!" I couldn't believe it! When he pulled my truck around, my wife and I went and parked so we could come speak with the Servive manager, and we caught Patrick actually mouthing about my wife and I and the issues we were having! This was the most unprofessional behavior I have ever experienced! The service manager and general manager were both gone so I couldn't speak with them! I left a message with the front desk explaining what happened and they assured me they would make sure the right person heard of what happened! I have never felt more unappreciated in my life! They honestly do not care about getting your vehicle up and running after the sale is made, at least when it comes to the service staff! To laugh in someone's face and tell them to take it back to a place they know can't fix the issue was appalling! Obviously I have a Ford and will need it worked on by a certified Ford dealer but I will drive however far it takes to not use Smith Ford just purely because of their service staff!! read more

My repeated experience with this dealership is as such: 1) They disregarded the problem with my vehicle twice 2) Told me the mechanic wasn't supposed to talk to me 3) Consistently had rude service from the service representative 4) Left my vehicle with them for three weeks after having mechanic ride with me and confirmed the issues, it sat and never got worked on because another mechanic looked at it and dismissed the issue. 5) Had to call Ford Customer Care to get dealership/service center on the ball 6) #5 was met with harsh/rude comments such as, "You can't be callin' Ford Customer Care when your vehicle hasn't been here for 30 days like you told them". Blatantly calling me a liar when my vehicle had in fact been there 30 calendar days. 7) Arranged for vehicle buy back with Ford Motor Company through lemon law, because the issue was not resolved in time... as well as having received terrible service from this dealership. I was then told that Smith Ford would not be allowing the buy back through their dealership, scapegoating on a technicality of not having sold the vehicle to me. TL;DR: Terrible dealership to work with service wise. Sales team might be great, however their prices as far as I can see average 2-5k above other dealerships in the area. Look elsewhere, hopefully you live close to another Ford dealer that you can service your vehicle at. read more

My husband and I purchased a new F150. We are very pleased with our vehicle purchase but had a few problems with followup issues with the dealership. (1) The VIN number was wrong on our initial contract and the entire contract had to be changed. This caused problems with insurance company but was resolved. We paid an extra $400 to have the inside and outside of our new truck treated with Xzylon. We took the vehicle in TWICE to get the job completed and both times they did not do what they said they would.
