We used Accelerated Resolution Therapy (similar to EMDR but faster!) to address a trauma memory that had been with me for over 35 years. I'll be honest, I didn't expect it to work. But it did. I started seeing Dr. P shortly after moving to Chicago. I was going through a lot of change and I was looking to get adjusted and in a really healthy place mentally. I've dealt with anxiety all my life and I was ready to get it under control. A friend from work recommended her and I'm so glad that she did! I'd say I connected with Dr. P immediately. She made me feel right at home, never pushed me too hard but just enough to get me to focus on improving certainly things about myself. It didn't take long before I was looking forward to our appointments. I'd often come knowing what I needed to talk about and what I needed to work on. But if I didn't, she knew what to say to get me going. Talking with her really helped me process and reflect on things in my life. From there, I was fully capable of dealing with them. After 2.5 years, I can truly say that I am a healthier person, both mentally and physically. The issues I had years ago have improved and I now know how to better handle stress and anxieties that come with everyday life. Maybe she is just too busy because it seems like the GRASP group is doing a pretty good job of marketing and getting their name out there. But if she doesn't have time to call back potential clients, real moms who are looking for support, maybe the group should hire a receptionist or personal assistant who can help them with scheduling and possibly grow their business or bring on another counselor. I think this group has found a niche market and if they can't handle the demand, they should expand or refer to others. Not returning phone calls is a bit unprofessional, not to mention discouraging.

I also learned a great deal about baby's development and how to play and engage with a newborn. I recommend this group to new Moms who are looking for education, support and networking.
