They have a decent selection on some sporting goods compared to most other stores in Ocala! Leave Ocala and your whole world opens up so please do not think that the variety and bargain is either what you come to Dick's for. They are lacking in any kind of sales help. The shoe section we clean and orderly. My wife talked with the shoe guy (sorry did not get his name) but he asked her about what kind of support she needed. He made a few suggestions and offered to get her a pair of each to try on. While she was testing the shoes out he gave her some space to just allow her to get a feel for herself. He then stopped back and said "once your down to your two favorites, put one on each foot and test them side-by-side that way". Great suggestion but again not pushing. She picked a pair and although they were expensive, we tend to keep shoes for a long time so $150 seems worth it! Like the way they helped us and would go back again!

Whether you play sports or don't, whether you run or walk- honestly, given how our shoes impact not just our feet, but our knees and back, everyone should have this type of experienced help selecting shoes. At no extra cost to you, they will scan your foot to get more than just the length of your foot. Things like your foot's width, arch, and height all impact which type of shoe and support you need. My son's feet were so pronated, his knees and back were constantly in pain and his toes looked jacked. That was all resolved once he got the correct arch support inserts and shoes. I had a bad ankle injury and they helped me get the right shoe for support and stability. I can't recommend Front Running Sports highly enough!!!

When I tried on a display shoe, a sales associate abruptly approached me and told me I was not allowed to try on display shoes because customers might later ask for discounts. His tone was rude and dismissive. When I asked for the a shoe in a different color and size, he refused, saying "you have already tried on that shoe and they are all the same." I requested a manager, but was told the manager was "in a meeting" and unavailable. Feeling disrespected, I left the store without making my purchase. I've shopped at Dick's for years, but this visit was extremely disappointing. I hope this location addresses the issue so other customers do not have the same experience.

My husband and I were in here a few days ago to purchase some of those handsome vented shirts for him and was greeted right away by an employee who was friendly and ready to help us.
