He took the time to get to know me as a new patient and discussed my concerns without hurrying to the next patient. He is friendly and caring while still being a bit coarse in his opinions. He will let you know his views honestly, occasionally with a few swear words for punctuation, but also with laughter and concern. I prefer the honesty and don't care about the coarse verbiage. Very happy with him as my guiding doctor!

During the time when she was first diagnosed and still fully able to speak for herself, she informed the family that her wish was to stay at home until the end of her life. David Schumer was her doctor and while she was still ambulatory and had the ability to toilet independently, he recommended her for Hospice care on 2 occasions when she was clearly ineligible for such care. Both times she was disqualified for the service by Medicare. No doctor that understands the criteria for Hospice care would have repeatedly made such a senseless decision twice. One can only guess why, but it appeared he was trying to give the impression he cared for my sister's wellbeing, even though he knew she would never meet the criteria for Hospice care. Hence, giving the family false expectations. Due to the unique nature of her disease and unlike more common forms of dementia, my sister remained aware of her surrounding and the people she loved. However, as her disease progressed, providing quality care became more and more difficult. To avoid the cost of in-home full-time care and fulfill my sister's wish to die at home, Schumer plotted with her husband to place my sister in a low-quality care home, even though the money was available. This decision immediately sped her decline, destroyed her quality of life and separated her from her loved ones for long periods of time. Moreover, Schumer became more and more dismissive when family members expressed concerns for her care. Finally, when it became apparent she did qualify for hospice care, Schumer did nothing other than increase the level of her sedation. My sister died without ever experiencing the benefits of Hospice care and was effectively abandoned by her "doctor" during her greatest time of need. Schumer may have been in the business for 40+ years, but his decisions to care for my sister at the end of life were deplorable. For more proof of Schumer's unethical behavior, please see the State of Washington, Department of Health Case #M2022-991 (9/12/2024) where legal action was taken against him regarding another patient, and the medical review board determined he had behaved unethically. I would never trust this man!

I'm here today for my annual exam and I'm over-hearing the nurses talking loudly about a notice coming through about a patient who is sick and in pain (stabbing burning pain). The message was apparently not clear to them and they apparently didn't know what to do with it, but the message was read out loud numerous times, at one point there was a lot of laughter about it even though the message was about a painful condition. I was shocked when one employee shouted out the patients name, or at least that's what it sounded like. I was in the waiting room and heard all this. Anyway, I'm glad it wasn't me they were talking about, and i hope they don't laugh at my messages like that, and holler out my name. Geez!!! I'm more than a little worried about it.

We miss him so much…read more He is personable, really listens, always has the best information at his fingertips about whatever your problem is and is a very good diagnostician. He writes all instructions down he gives you and a brief summary of your visit. I would recommended him to anyone who has the opportunity to be one of his patients to take it and feel confident you have made the right choice and will be getting the best primary care Doctor that is available.

Finally , I went to Pacific Medical Center and find out everything can be done in same day,they have excellent customer service. Also, tests results were sent me to my phone even on weekends. Dr. Christosomo has been seeing me for a shoulder injury, and has been for the most part very helpful, and was great getting me in to see their acupuncturist and also seems very concerned about helping patients find the lowest cost treatment options available. However, on a recent visit, she had my chart mixed up with another patient's, and it was only after a very confusing first couple of minutes of the exam that she realized this. On another visit, I was left in an exam room for forty minutes before a nurse came in and asked me if anyone had seen me yet. They are VERY busy, and it seems like their organization is suffering because of it. An unrelated issue I'd also mention isn't exactly a complaint, it's just the nature of their practice and something good to know before being seen there- I don't think they are equipped to treat long term injuries that require more invasive care. Dr. C. has seen me for a shoulder injury that is over a year old, and is continuing to get worse. She has been up front with me and told me that "in a perfect world" the next step would be to do an MRI to diagnose and come up with a treatment plan, but in the world of "discount" medicine, I don't think this is realistic. Go here for low cost health care necessities, not for other types of treatment.

My initial contact was with a receptionist (name ?) who was the most pleasant receptionist I believe I've ever met. She was so helpful and arranged an appointment for me to meet a new PCP (Primary Care Physician). She transferred all my medical records from UW Medicine making the process painless. Did I mention the receptionist was so very pleasant? After my initial meeting with my new PCP, I was thoroughly impressed with the staff at Pacific Medical. The medical facility is really close by my apartment, so traveling back and forth is not a problem. Lots of parking, with about half dozen Handicap parking stalls directly out from the front door of the clinic. Perhaps the time spent with negotiations between Aetna & UW Medicine was my good luck.

The receptionist up front Theresa is great very knowledgeable and friendly I always use MyChart for messaging and get a response next day parking is great huge lot close to the police station and Bank of America. Staff is friendly, and they respond to emails timely. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that They run extremely behind. I routinely wait over an hour from my appt time to see Bob. I'm sure this is because he gives thorough care and listens to his patients but it is annoying. He is quite knowledgeable too. I love this practice though and will put up with it for now.
