Our 27 year old Kenmore over the range microwave in Bisque,died about a week ago, and my repair guy said "you'll never find Bisque, but try Smith's - they may have something, maybe a scratch and dent, and we cant fix it, the parts are no longer available". One of the big box stores' websites claimed they had bisque (but not locally) and could deliver in a few months. So we debated a bit about black, white, or stainless. When we needed repairs on two of our other (similarly old) appliances the repairman said the parts were no longer available. I had seen Smith's near the fairgrounds and knew roughly where it was, so I called, got good directions via phone, and was greeted promptly by the owner. When I said I needed an over the stove microwave - in bisque - instead of "sorry" he said he tries to keep bisque in stock and had one in the back room right now, new in box! Would next week be ok? Yes please! His deliver - install - haul away price was far better than the chain store prices AND he had it in stock! The installers arrived on time, removed the old one, checked the new one, and determined that the opening in the cabinetry was too deep ; the new one would go in but the doors wouldn't open. Oops! They called someone to handle the necessary carpentry, which was done efficiently for a perfect fit. No muss, no fuss. The new microwave fits AND works perfectly, and matches our other bisque appliances. Nobody is predicting another 27 years, but that's ok - I'm sure our other appliances will fail sooner or later and we know where to go! read more

Purchased a scratch and dent oven appliance from Smiths and unfortunately the face was damaged in delivery. It had a rear non visible dent which was as of no consequence and the discount was good. The owner attempted to replace the newly damaged face of the unit but the hardware connections were incompatible which rendered a key feature - cook camera - unusable. The owner did take the unit back for a full refund which was a plus, but acted annoyed that we cared to have a fully functional new appliance. He also initially claimed that the new damage done in delivery was existing - hence scratch and dent but we had proof. Plenty of folks have had great experiences with Smiths otherwise they would not still be around, but make sure to document current condition of any scratch and dent or floor model unit prior to delivery. I was in dire need of a washer as my current one conked out on me and repair (from private repairman not from Smith's) was too costly for a 15 year old machine. I had it in the back of my mind I should get a new dryer also since they were purchased together but dryer is working fine, but then again, so was the washer until suddenly it was not. At Smith's I was greated warmly and in a friendly manner, not the "used car salesman" approach. The man seemed to sincerely wish to help me and he did. He asked if I was interested in the scratch and dent items and I thought why not. My laundry appliances are under a stairwell and hidden by a custom made door. No one sees them except me anyway. We looked and honestly I had to really examine the appliances trying to find the flaws. Full store warranty PLUS 6 extra months. The pricing was excellent. The free delivery, placement and taking the old appliance away was critical to me being a widow. My salesman, Mr. Kronenberg excelled at his craft. I left that establishment feeling quite lucky and also quite happy. I thank the Mayor for that!! read more

What an awesome experience! From the time we walked into the store to the time we had our new stove loaded in our truck and we're on our way home, it was less than 10 minutes! Great prices and Great customer service! I was already stressing as my stove went out right when I was getting ready to do my holiday baking. None of the big box stores around here had a stove in stock that I could get before Christmas! Someone recommended smiths I was skeptical b/c often you find small run family businesses are not able to offer the best prices compared to box stores. Boy was I wrong!! I purchased an as is refrigerator and was told and shown one small "dent" on the freezer drawer. Once delivered it had 2 large scratches on the side and 2 small dents in the side. I contacted the store and they offered to come and remove it...they took my refrigerator with them to be "scrapped" so this was not an option. I was told over and over I purchased it as is to which I agreed about the one blemish I was shown, not the other 4. I was offered and accepted a refund of the delivery fee. I truly expected more from a small local business I had heard good reviews about. Not sure I would buy from here again or I would inspect the item and take photos before delivery. read more

I was referred to Smith's by a friend when I was shopping for new kitchen appliances. I often get overwhelmed when purchasing electronics or household items but was completely put as ease. Worked with Mark who was helpful and knowledgeable with products and features. Prices were competitive with the option for installation. Delivery, setup and removal of old appliances were seamless. We are conditioned to believe that "big box stores" have the best deals on appliances. If you are just talking about the best price for say a washer, they do have the best price. But the Devil is in the details. "Oh, you want it delivered?" Oh, you want us to take away the old unit?" "Oh, want us to connect it?" "Oh, you will need new wires/pipes to connect it at our prices for these items." Put all those "Ohs" together and you will find your little local appliance store can beat the the Big Boxes almost every time and they offer things like service and real advice. Right now I am looking at purchasing my third major appliance from Smith's because they do such a good job and care about their customers after the sale. read more

Frankly, I was surprised that there were as a very negative review on this store because I have nothing but praise for Smith's Appliances. I have been doing business with them for many years and find them to be top notch for sales and service. Bill (Doc) and Charlie have sold me more than 20 appliances for my home and rental properties. The price and quality have been great and they treat customers well. Jerry anchors the service department and is friendly, timely, and personable. When I decided to replace my 15 year old gas range I started my search online and then to the big box stores. I ended my search when I stopped at Smith's Appliance. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and there was absolutely no pressure. Thankfully, the range was installed the next day. The guys who installed were friendly and knowledgeable about the range And they left no debris behind!!! The customer service I have received is bar none and I will definitely return for another appliance purchase in the future. read more

Do not shop here. Worst customer service and retail experience I've ever had. Bought a dishwasher that they installed incorrectly twice, finally had to pay some other repair person to fix it after the owner of smiths cut off all contact with me and refused to refund my money. Owner was very rude and disrespectful. This place gives small businesses a bad name, and I'm surprised they are still in business. Go to Lowe's or Home Depot for your appliances and avoid this place at all costs. read more

I decided to replace all of the appliances in my home. After shopping around, this place offered a reasonably priced package. The service was decent while I was buying, but the enthusiasm waned when I had problems with my brand new appliances. The delivery/installation service was mediocre. Here I am well over a year later regretting that I bought most of these appliances. The store only carries GE (General Electric). I don't necessarily blame the store, but I highly advise to NOT buy GE. The appliances are shoddy. Maybe I'm naive and all companies have lowered their standards. But, I highly advise that those looking for appliances look for other options. All that said, I'm really glad that there are privately owned businesses that offer options other than franchises. So, a little upgrade to the service, and widening the selection (if possible) to include better brands would in my opinion would be steps in the direction of improvement. read more
