I have a very big yard, over 9,000 square feet. I hired Jarrell to do some basic yardwork, dethatching, fertilizing, and seeding, plus some tree work and cleanup of the yard. I enjoyed working with Jarrell. He and his crew did a very good job. They worked efficiently and were very professional. Contacted SML to install some sod in my backyard and the got me a quote within one day! They even installed the sod that same week. The process was hassle free and extremely fast. It's been 21 days since my sod was planted and it looks fantastic. The crew did a great job of leveling out and prepping the ground prior to installing the sod. Actually I should have asked about follow-up services beforehand. Was told after the job was completed that Follow-up service not provided for Maryland. I hired SML Services to install sod on my front lawn. My sod was installed around May 12, 2022.  Since then I watered the grass everyday except when it rains.  On June 30th I contacted SML Services because I had big patches of brown grass. I sent pictures and no response or suggestions on why my sod was turning brown or what I need to do, nothing. Now here it is September 2022, 4 months since installation. Attached are pictures of my lawn that cost $3800. I hired SML Services because they had great reviews. I saw them on TV news. Oh Well, next time I will do my homework. read more

I hired SML on behalf of a customer who contracted me to manage some work on his rental property, which included removing some shrubbery and tree roots from a fence line in the back yard. Despite my best efforts to keep communication flowing smoothly, I found their communication throughout the process to be lacking, which made setting up getting the work scheduled and completed a bit difficult. The work that was done was barely acceptable. There were several areas that were left undone or otherwise left messy. The shrubs and roots were mostly cleared, but not well enough. They left a large amount of sticks, roots, and other debris all over the yard and driveway where they loaded what they did take. I had to go behind them and finish cleaning up the mess they left because the homeowner was not satisfied with the mess they left, which was about 1/3 of a truckload worth. Furthermore, they were instructed to contact me when they finished the work so I could come by and ensure the work was completed to satisfaction. They did not call (which brings me back to the lackluster communication), so I had to track them down to find out if they were done. They were, however, very quick to send the final invoice. The quality of the experience with SML suggest a lack of attention to detail and a poor quality of customer service. In the future, I will not be contracting SML for any work. Their pricing was definitely not worth the quality of the work received. read more

I cannot say enough about how reliable the guys are from Save My Lawn (SML). They maintain my lawn like clockwork. I never worry or wonder if they will be on the job. The company operates in a very professional and keeps daytime business hours; never on Sunday mornings which I consider to be a time that is not neighborhood friendly. The billing and payment system is conveniently electronic, all trimmings and debris are removed and the site is left clean and neat. I arranged to be home the entire time and they ghosted me, never showing up and with no communication that day. They had the nerve to call me on Monday to reschedule. As if! I contacted SML, spoke to someone, and sent the requested information. I didn't hear back from them for 2-3 weeks. Eventually I received a response asking if I was still interested. I replied that I was and mentioned that I never heard back from anyone. I didn't receive a response to that, either. They were almost the only contractor out of about 6 I contacted that followed up, provided a quote, and were willing to work with me on getting everything scheduled. Sent an email on 5/1 to request service as they had previously done work on my yard and did a great job. I received a response on 5/2 requesting photos of the area being serviced to which I promptly responded. On 5/7 I received an email inquiring as to whether someone from the landscaping department had reached out to me after receiving the photos. I advised that no one had reached out and I was still waiting. To date I have not received a response and decided to move on with another company. read more

I have used SML services on two occasions. First was last year to build a retaining wall made of 6x6 lumber. They did a terrific job. The thing is indestructible. The second time I used SML was March of this year to plant several cypress trees I bought online. I also asked them to raise some flag stone used for a path from the driveway to the house. Over the years, the path had sunk to far into the ground. Again, I was very happy with their service. Their price was very reasonable. Now, the only thing I would find fault with them is that they did not come as prepared as I was expecting them to be. By this I mean, on their most recent job, I had to provide rakes and pruning clippers. But I had what was required so no biggie. They did a really nice job cleaning everything up. Not sure what their full capabilities are regarding landscaping. My projects were more simple than complex. Would I use them again? Yes, most certainly.
