I've been coming here for a long time--this was actually the first smoke shop I ever started with. About a month ago, I called to ask if you had the Novo 5 in stock. At the time, you didn't, so I ended up going elsewhere. Not only did the other shop have it in stock, but their prices were significantly lower and they offered more juice options at better deals. I called again today to see if you had the Novo 5 and was told you had just one left. Even though it was priced higher than other shops, I asked if you could match the lower price I'd seen elsewhere. Unfortunately, you declined. Walked in here for vape juice. The blonde guy asked if I needed help so I asked if they had GOOD vape juice. I usually get Blue Razz Ive (smooth) He sold me probably the worst juice I've ever tried - tasted burnt and disgusting so I wasted $20 on that at the same time he couldn't make any eye contact with me and stared at my chest the entire time "real classy place" I won't be going back. Keisha is one of our favorite staff members and are thankful for how she is always so helpful, kind and let's us know all of the specials. I've patronized this establishment a few times in the past, as a cigar smoker, and I had come to be quite fond of their cigar selection and prices. They **USED TO** have the best cigar prices in town. Besides the fact that (on a past occasion) the white girl (employee) with tattoos & piercings took an inappropriate amount of time to finish a conversation with a personal friend of hers before even acknowledging my presence (as a human being standing at the counter in the store) or greeting me, as I stood at the counter, I felt as though there was at least a decent, pleasant & acceptable energy/vibe put off by the staff, until a couple days ago... After waiting for the black girl (employee) with dreadlocks (hereinafter referred to as "Dreadlocks") to unlock the humidor room, I was disappointed to see that the store's cigar PRICING has recently INCREASED to be equal to (and, in some cases, GREATER THAN) OTHER LOCAL SHOPS in the area (like Get it On in Mission Beach). Regardless, I selected a cigar and brought it to the counter, with the intent to purchase. I then calmly, politely & casually mentioned to Dreadlocks, "By the way, did you guys recently increase your pricing? I have always thought of this store as having the best cigar prices in the area." Her response astounded me: "YES... IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT, YOU CAN JUST STOP SMOKING TOBACCO." [WTF!!??] She then continued with her rude, obnoxious & condescending attitude, including when I asked her to run my MasterCard as a credit transaction instead of a debit transaction. I eventually became so disgusted by Dreadlocks' attitude and the way I was being mistreated that I terminated the transaction & left the store. I have more self-respect than to hand my money over to a person or business that mistreats me like that. Until I receive a response from management that Dreadlocks has been fired or no longer works there, they can keep their selection of overpriced cigars locked away under lock & key... I love when I get to write great reviews. I've been into this store a few times since I moved here to Point Loma. I have had a positive experience with each of the workers I've interacted with, but Tara has been especially wonderful. Super friendly, and very personable and genuine. I've been into a lot of smoke shops where I've felt like they were rushing me out of the store. They are always super pleasant here and actually like to have conversations with their customers. Overall, they've got a fantastic staff that seems to actually enjoy what they do, and WANT to be there. I wish more places had the customer service Smoke Zone does. They always make my shopping experience positive and I always leave with a smile, even when I go in irritated about whatever I'm irritated about at that moment. Kudos to them. read more

They didn't even bother to ID me and then charged me double the wholesale price for the products and refused to refund the UNOPENED products after I realized. Been coming here since 2007 but no longer. No loyalty to their customers. Have spent a fare share of money here and recently purchased a vape pen battery. Was sold on one by the person working there which was supposedly better than the previous one I purchased. Just a $20 item and was told if it failed I could bring it back. 6 weeks later it stopped working. I bring it back and am told "no returns." This battery likely costs them no more than a couple dollars. Instead of them simply replacing it, they lose me as a customer. So now I'm ordering my Pax from their website. There is little sense patronizing stores when they have no idea what made small businesses nice to begin with. Save the hassle of driving places and order online. Yes, there is a Smoke Zone over in PB and now there is one in the Midway district also. Just opened recently and there are lots of good deals going on. I popped in to take a look and there is a big selection of cigars, if that is your thing. Lots of inexpensively-priced cigarettes--both individual packs and cartons. I guess the homeless who bum change along the streets here will stop going to Walgreen's and maybe come to the Smoke Zone for their cheap smokes. One can only hope. There is a large selection of glass pipes. Right now some are buy one, get one free. For those who chew their tobacco, there are cans and hookah fans who spend $40 or more on a hookah, get a free tub of tobacco or charcoal. Conveniently located next to the Moneytree and in the same little strip mall as Cricket and Subway. I guess I am a fan. read more

The neighborhood has always been bad. Homeless always hanging out In front of the shop. I've went In twice recently. The first time I asked about a specific glass piece and I don't think the register person understood what I was looking for. But the second time I went in one of the short blonde girls that worked here, completely didn't help me at all and was too busy talking to who I think was her friend. I think she was making a drug deal. All in all with the neighborhood going down hill and that event, I'd say it's safe to steer clear. read more

My worst experience in costumer service in ANY kind of retail. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted and the sales person went right to trying to sell me a pen made by locally. So I looked, as I am always up for helping the local economy and upcoming businesses in an industry I have played many roles in over the past 27 years,from businessness owner in a production water pipe company to, customer. So I purchased the evolve plus as planned. But in the process, nothing is labeled. The 2 guys in the establishment were just tossing numbers back and forth. All said and done the sales person put the cheapest pen of the line, the evolve for concentrate. Instead of the item I purchased and paid $15+ more for. Mistakes happen and I had a great conversation with this kid so I know it was OT done purposefully. When calling regarding the mistake, from the east coast as I had to fly the next day. When explaining what had occurred, the girl whom I spoke with did not know the line of pens, aside of names. So when articulating what had occurred she responded (approx 1:15pm) saying, "you are making no sense, you don't know what you are talking about! Come in and work it out with him." Insanity! In any line of work or sales. You should know the products you are working with and handle every situation with professionalism. Whether you clean toilets or engineer Bridges. Well it has quite an array of products for MMJ or soon to be recreational , but hard to look at the products as the cashier/owner (?) was talking politics with a tobacco customer. As I was looking at vape products they were talking about the decapitation of 300 people and they said it was ISIS. THE customer said, Trump will take care of them. I just randomly said, "or perhaps it's a response to Trumps words and now being our president.". IGNORED by both. They then started whispering, which made me feel uncomfortable. But I continued to hear Trumps name.... A younger customer came in and the man behind d the counter, wasn't just socializing with the other customer. He said to the younger clients..... "scary times" That is when I made it for the door. As the that point the man behind the counter finally acknowledged me, by aggressively saying, "CAN I HELP YOU?" And I replied, no just looking around and listening to politics.. Yes they were both white males! This shop has never gotten my business and WILL NEVER get a dime of my money!
