Sandwich was very dry. We came in between lunch and dinner so I believe the beef and pork had been under a hot lamp. Normally I would eat all of it but could not. The service was great and ambiance was as expected. Before paying I mentioned the dryness and was offered a new sandwich. Finally they gave us some bulk pork to take home. We had to put leftover beef in a crock pot and add sauce to simmer and moisten it. read more

We were driving through on our way home from Kansas City, and based off of the reviews decided to try it out. Everything we got was delicious. The buffalo chicken dip and loaded potatoes were great, served with (most likely) in house made kettle type chips. The ribs were amazing-falling off the bone, tender and not fatty at all. Was in town for basketball game. Found this awesome BBQ joint. The name is perfect as each item is a creation. Love the original sauce. All meats were prefect. A little bark made it even better. I travel 60 miles just to get to this place. Best Bar-b-que around. The 3 piece rib meal is so good with fall off the rib meat. Always have their creamy cole slaw with it. I have allergies and made it very clear the last two times I went to eat. Both times they messed my order up which caused me to get extremely ill. One of the waitresses even acknowledged the food was wrong after she'd delivered it and walked away for 10 minutes. Tried this place Saturday, weather was nice, the drive was an hour from home, but was totally worth it. I had the Cuban sandwich, with fries, and the smell of the place was amazing. We ate with the hog group, and the little piggies they had all over the place where awesome. We will be back for sure, the BBQ sauses where awesome, the flavor palette was on point and awesome with both fries and that sandwich. It's with sadness I write this review. The food is consistently very good, so I'm giving it a star for that. The reason for the lack of other stars is due to what our whole table witnessed and heard while eating there recently. One of the managers was yelling and making unkind remarks to his employees - repeatedly. This went on the whole 45 minutes we were eating! It was alarming and upsetting how demeaning, unkind and loud he was when speaking to his employees! No one deserves to be treated like that and I don't care how good the food is, that's completely unacceptable. The employees deserve to have customers to help them take care of their families, and that's the only reason I would consider ever returning in the future. That said, I have no intention at this time of returning. read more

My cousin told me this was the best BBQ around. We moved near by recently and coming from KC, I had a feeling before getting there I was about to be let down. As soon as I stepped out of the car, the smell caused me to fall in love. My pulled pork sandwich was amazing and so big that I had to take some home. The beans were even better! Okra was cooked just right! And the macaroni and cheese bites.... I need a supplier or a recipe for! They definitely went beyond my expectations. This place is amazing, I'm from San Diego and wanted some bbq. I've had texas bbq and I've had Kansas bbq. But this place has very good quality smoked meats. This restaurant it's staff and clients are super friendly and very respectful .i was the only Mexican-American in the entire establishment and i felt like i was with family. Rebecca my server was super proffesional, she was always on top of everything pertaining to my meal. My daughter and I ate here while touring the local university. I was hoping they'd be open on a Sunday and they were. The atmosphere is great, it looks like a BBQ joint should. Plenty of tvs with playoff football, but not so loud that you can't hear the person across the table. I ordered "the pig out" based on a previous posters review and it might have been the best pulled pork I have ever eaten. It was absolutely delicious! Cheese, bacon, BBQ and pork, what more do you need. The portion size was huge and I wasn't man enough to finish, had to take a to go box. Wife ate the other half the next morning and said it was delicious cold too! My daughter ordered the wings and said they were very good too. Met a co-worker here while in Ottawa. Neat building and atmosphere. They were practicing social distancing, so a little spread out, but appreciated. We were discussing business, and the waitress was patient on us to order. The menu was a little different than most KC area bbq places with many unique sandwich options. I had the longhorn sandwich, which was brisket, bacon, pepper jack, pickles, with onion rings on some fancy but very tasty roll. They looked to have a full bar too.
