They didn't think I'd ever see the fake response...and I didn't for a long time. The husband, I believe his name is Ron, designs and makes a lot, if not all of their jewelry. The pieces are unique and lovely. The owners are super-friendly and helpful. They remind me of new-age, semi-hippie thowback types, which is cool. AND, knowing that they hiked the Machu Picchu is a real "hats off to you guys" in my book! The Barrel Shop in Lynchburg is adjacent to their main gift shop in the adorable little downtown (only area of town?) section. Inside you can find gorgeous items made from used Jack Daniels barrels. Just as a sampling they have - bar stools, mini bars, serving trays, pub tables, chests, wall bars, birdhouses, keychains, boxes, rocking chairs, coasters, and planters. I didn't find the prices to be all that bad either though a tad on the high side - $70 for a planter but keychains were just $5. Jack Daniels doesn't use their barrels twice so they have to do something with them! What better souvenir to get from the distillery?! Everything is very nicely crafted, I must say. If you spend $10 here (and at many of the other shops as well), you'll get a free Jack Daniels shot glass. Shot shot shot!

Last week I fell down the rabbit hole on their website and ordered 5-6 items on a whim. Honestly, I wasn't expecting much. I buy plenty of secondhand clothing, so I figured I'd get a few decent pieces and call it a win. Imagine my surprise when I opened the box and every single item looked far better than expected! Most of my purchases were listed as being in "good" condition, but I would personally call them all "like new" or even "new." Everything arrived spotlessly clean, professionally processed, and completely odor-free something every secondhand shopper knows is worth celebrating. They carry a surprising number of luxury brands, and many items still have original tags attached. It felt a little like opening a treasure chest and realizing the treasure is actually there. Needless to say, I'll be back. My one tip: keep an eye out for coupons. Finding a bargain on top of an already good deal is half the fun!
