Made our first of the season dinner from SJs. Pizza is always excellent, generous toppings and flavorful crust. The wings were oustanding and slightly less expensive than other places in the area. Perfectly cook, full and meaty, their normal hot was plenty of spice for me. Also ordered salads, 1 regular salad is plenty for 2, get extra dressings, they're on the side. I have never been to this pizza shop before. I don't even live nearby this pizza shop. But. I am already trying to figure out when I'll be back. I live about an hour away. I stopped in looking for some dinner as I was passing through. And decided to pickup a pizza. I ordered the buffalo chicken pizza. And I was very happy with the quality of the ingredients they used. Real chicken pieces. Not processed chicken. Red onions and amazing cheese along with the best buffalo sauce I've ever tasted. The person who cut the pizza even took pride in cutting it because to me the slices were cut almost evenly. And that's not what normally happens. People are usually in a rush. And the slices are thin and large. But this was awesome. The taste was so good. I want to go back and try something else. Because they have many different flavors. The price was very good. We did delivery on a Saturday. The delivery was about an hour, which was well worth it. We ordered a cheese pizza, chicken ranch, and supreme with no black olives. The chicken ranch was the best. The flavor combination was amazing. The lettuce gave it a non heavy finish. The supreme was packed with all the flavors and gave us tons of leftovers. I will order the chicken ranch again! read more

We ordered pizza from Smokin Joe's and it was what we expected. Compared to some of the other pizza places in this area, Smokin Joe's can run a bit pricier. So just FYI. We really liked their version of Hawaiian pizza, which was made with a nice sweet sauce. My Mom really enjoyed their wings and said she would absolutely order them again. We also ordered the Philly Cheesesteak pizza, which was tasty but had more of an onion flavor to me. We ordered this pizza on a stressful night and didn't want to think too much about dinner. The online ordering worked well and came within 40 minutes as expected. I wish I had something more revolutionary to say - maybe I will on my next experience with Smokin Joe's! read more

My wife and I are confessed pizza snobs. We try pizza everywhere we go and review it so you don't have to. This is just an ordinary, run of the mill pie. We ordered half pepperoni half sausage. We moved to Vermilion-Wakeman area a year ago and ordered them for the first time before we even had furniture in our house. Since then we have been a loyal customer and have ordered multiple times a month when life would get too crazy with kiddos and animals and allthethings. The food is always consistent-- in spite of other reviewers being EXTRA PICKY on here. So then we had a fire and our home became unlivable. The staff at SJ's raised money for us and reached out to us as a part of our COMMUNITY. They stopped being a place we shopped as regulars and became a helping hand in return. THAT is the true sense of a Mom-n-Pop restaurant who is involved in its community members. We will forever be grateful and lifetime customers. read more

Most of the time you get very tasty quality. Lately it's been hit or miss. Still it's basically the only choice so you eat it.

Pretty good take out place. Lots of good food to choose from and usually pretty fast in preparation (not always, but most of the time). I haven't had any food there that i didn't enjoy. I know that finding help is difficult right now. But it took over one hour and twenty minutes to get our order delivered. The restaurant is less the 10 minutes from our location. The food was cold. The wings must of came from a miniature chicken. They were so small The pizza was cold. Not even sure it was what we ordered. The driver did offer to bring another pizza. I notice various reviews saying that it depends on who is working on the night that you get your order as to whether it will be good or not. I don't know who was working when we ordered 2 full slab rib dinners but those dinners were absolutely delicious. And they were so plentiful that I saved half of my dinner and had it for lunch the next day. They gave me extra sauce in a little container so I slathered (is that a word?) my ribs with the extra sauce before reheating and they were just as good as the night before. read more

I should have known better! Besides the pizza being way overbaked (crust was even tough!!) They came and set up, served our food, and were polite & professional! Our family stopped by to make a pickup order for pizza and ribs. Was pleased when we were told about a 20 min wait. So we waited outside. Went in after 20 mins and stood there another ten before I hear that they messed up one of the pizzas. Now they had to make another. So I had to stand there another 20 minutes while the family waited outside and the rest of our food got cold. Wasn't offered any kind of compensation in any way. A small gesture would have went a long way towards good customer service. As for the food, pizza was ok. Not terrible not great. We have been going to Smokin Joe's for many years and the food has been good most of the time. Over the past year it has really become hit 'hit and miss' as to its quality. About five months ago we ordered ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were terrible! Over smoked and dry. The pulled pork was acceptable. So a month or so later we thought we would give them another chance and the food was fabulous. Ribs were done to perfection and the pulled pork was wonderful. Fast forward to last night. We again ordered ribs, pulled pork and some wings. The only thing that was decent were the wings. The ribs were the worst I have ever eaten. Over smoked, dry and had way too much salt in the rub. The pulled pork was far from pulled! It was chopped in large chunks, full of fat that had not been rendered down which made it like chewing rubber and inedible. It was also extremely salty. I have no idea what is going on with Smokin Joe's and there quality but I for one will not be going back! read more
