We were afraid the COVID-19 public health crisis would impact our move, but we confirmed several days in advance and the movers showed up right on time the day off. These guys hustled for a solid 5 1/2 hours (with my husband working right along side of them). We even encouraged them to take a quick break and enjoy the pizza we ordered, but they kept on moving. We were only moving a mile down the road, but everything was packed and unpacked efficiently. We took precautions of putting down paper and plastic over the floors and carpet at our new house and they took precautions as well. Everything arrived in great shape. They asked each time where the boxes went, and when they left, none of the boxes where in the right spots. I could go on and on about how bad this was. (These kids/men) did not want to work, did not have any experience at all and literally had to be watched the whole time and didnt even listen to anything hardly at all. It really seemed like they did this on purpose, walking slow, didnt show up even with 1 dolly, we spoke about using dollies for heavy boxes, real heavy. They show up and didnt want to move them, because they had no dollies? A moving company with no dollies? They showed up almost 6 hours early and wondered why we are not ready. etc. The group of children we got, basically got paid huge to do very little. 1 guy spent an hour taking apart a couch that didnt even need to, and he argued that point for 10 mins. He also needed 2 others help to do this. We got it in through this hall with out taking apart, weve have never had to take it apart. He takes it apart anyway. (that was 200 dollars). They gave a discount, but really, they moved about 25% stuff compared to the last guys we used, moved almost all our stuff in the same time frame. This was just real bad service from people who really didnt know how to move or pack at all, some of them looked like they was 16. Making fun of us around the corner, talking on the phone, using phones while working, etc. We ended up having to move most all of our heavy boxes that we hired them to do. I caught one guy taking out a broom, he was gonna carry a broom the whole way to the truck. We hired you to lift and move the large boxes... i say... he kept walking and i had to grab it from his hand and tell him again, NO. This is not a heavy box.... I assume they sent newbies but really, we could have done it all ourselves better and faster. We should have. This time. Hopefully they hire people who actually care... We got a bunch of kids who cant read or write it seems?

They had been booked for the whole weekend. I was left with 1/2 a house not moved!!! Thankfully I found another company that would move me on July 4th. They are local and don't have a call center. I used U-Pack to move from Northern Indiana to Seattle and had an exceptional experience. The box…read morewas delivered on the morning of the scheduled date, and I was able to call around 5:30pm for the box to be picked up the next day after I was done packing it. My box was picked up on a Thursday morning and made it to Seattle by Tuesday. I did check the status (there is not a detailed tracking just when it departs and arrives from your origin and destination locations) and see that my box had arrived in Seattle already. I called the dispatch office in Seattle and was able to get my box delivered the following morning on Wednesday. This was 2 days before my guaranteed delivery date of Friday. I was able to have movers (I used task rabbit) unpack the box on Wednesday and once again called that evening to have it picked back up the next morning, Thursday. This means my entire move from Chicago area to Seattle was about a week, including the drop off and pick up overnight waits. Nothing was broken in my box and I had no issues coordinating with the pick up and drop off workers. For something stressful like a cross country move I appreciated how issue free working with U-Pack was and how efficient they were in timing. For further reference I moved a small 1 bedroom. I will say 1 small box was a bit smaller than I needed and ended up leaving behind my dresser (gifted to a family member). Some tips: I found out at the end of my move you don't need to actually call the dispatch centers you can request pick ups and drop offs through your moving dashboard, I found that the dispatch centers preferred drop off/pick up times around 9am, when you call a dispatch center its important to be clear what step in the move you are on so they can reference the correct tracking number. Overall I would highly recommend.

We had a terrible experience with Wiltfong Moving & Storage and United Inc. Our move was in…read moremid-November 2019, and the plan had been to pack and crate our items for 5 days in South Bend (Indiana), store the truck for the weekend, and then arrive in Minnetonka (Minnesota) on Monday. The truck did arrive early on Monday morning in Minnesota, with the intention to leave before Tuesday noon. No movers showed up until 9:00 am. Two hours later, another mover showed up, and could not lift heavy furniture. They dropped and did serious damage to our custom-made armoire. It is still sitting in pieces in our garage. Seven hours after the truck arrived at our home, a ton of movers showed up and proceeded to stampede through the house in order to get the job done before dark, which meant they needed to finish in 2-3 hours. The crating and moving in Indiana had taken 5 days. They scratched our new wood floors, dented our walls, damaged more furniture, and tracked mud all over our new carpeting. The driver acknowledged the damage and, in his haste, to leave said to call Steve Nixon to get help. We called Wiltfong immediately about what happened. Steve Nixon and Ryan Wiltfong did not send an inspector to assess the damage or help with assembling and putting furniture in the correct rooms. Instead they just sent us claims forms. Ryan Wiltfong stated that "they would settle the claims after the listed items were repaired and receipts were given." We had purchased $132,000 moving insurance. We proceeded to get most of the items fixed (except the armoire, which is ruined), as well as repair the wood and walls, broken glass, and clean the carpets. We submitted receipts and claim forms. Ryan Wiltfong NEVER reported the damage to United Inc. We found this out after calling United's headquarters in mid-February, and found they had no record of this ever happening! We are stuck with the bills for almost $10,000 worth of damage. Wiltfong and United are denying the claim because an inspector never came. The same inspector that we had asked for in November/December that Ryan and Steve had ignored. Now in March, United Claims Department wants to come out now to see the damage and the boxes. This was a complete disaster, through the intentional incompetence and lack of concern for the customer of Wiltfong Moving and Storage and United Inc. Do not use them if you value your property. I certainly would not if I had known this was the move that I would have.
