I go to a good bit of events at the smoothie king center every year. Most recently I went to the pelicans game for HBCU night. Lately the pelicans games have still been pretty empty especially at the top. For it to be HBCU/ Divine nine night it would've been nice to see them give some free or discounted tickets to the HBCUs in the state and local divine 9 chapters. This way you fill the seats, and I'm sure those attendees would've spent money at the concession stands. The pelicans played the bucs that night but the bucs were missing Giannis and the Pels were missing Trey Murphy. Pels could've won the game but of course at the end they fell apart. Throughout the game there were performances from members of HBCUs and diving 9 groups. Xavier University Band was there but they had them at the top in the stands. It would've been nice if they let them perform on the floor so everyone could've seen and heard them better. They had HBCU trivia game that I thought was a nice touch. I think next year it'd be nice if they showed pictures on the big screen highlighting some of the distinguished alumni from the Louisiana HBCUs. The giveaway for this game was a bucket hat. They did not hand it to you when you entered the game like they usually do. You had to wait in a long line after the game to get it. This line led to the Courtside club where there was an after party. Once we made it there this man said it was at full capacity and no one else could go in. I was disappointed as I was looking forward to the dj. My uncle also went to the game and he was able to get in the Courtside club and said how they had kids in there which he thought was weird since there's also a bar in there. For the future I think they need to hand out the hats in the beginning and either make the Courtside club entry 21+ or just have the party outside of the arena where everyone can enjoy the music and step shows from the Greeks. read more

GO PELS! I enjoy games here. The hubs and I usually have amazing seats, the courtside club and the energy here is pretty epic! The staff is friendly and attentive, the club food is tasty AF, the selection is great, and tables are bussed and cleaned frequently. Sadly, the pelicans have lost every single game I've attended, but thankfully that doesn't detract from the fun had by all. All in all, great NBA games and a great arena! read more

A smooth stadium experience! Pro-tip, if you're using rideshare ask them if they can drop you off right outside the gate or else you'll have to walk for about 10 mins. The space was incredibly easy to navigate, gave out lots of swag, and clean. Hope to be back soon! read more

This was one of the smoothest processes I had entering a venue to attend a concert. It is a smaller arena, but they handled things very well. GLOWS: -There were multiple points of entry which made getting into the venue a breeze, especially because doors were opened a few minutes ahead of time. -The lines for merch, drinks, and food were quickly moving---especially if you arrived a few moments early. -The seats were very comfortable! GROWS: -The sound system was messed up at the concert due to the artist's mic being set so much lower than the background music. I don't know if it was on the artist's end or the venue's end... but it did ruin moments of the show for me. -There were not many signs around the inside of the concert that was showing. It made it difficult to get a photos --- but I know that is a part of VIP these days. read more

I came here for a Pelicans game while I was visiting New Orleans. From the street car it was a long walk to get to the stadium. You have to walk up different sets of stairs to get to the main entrance. Once we were in front we got through security quickly. We were seated in the upper rows but you can still see everything clearly. Zion was back finally so we got to see him in action. As with any other arena food and drinks are incredibly expensive. Be sure to bring your wallet if you plan to enjoy a meal while watching a game. It was T Shirt giveaway night so all the seats had one. Good thing we picked it up before sitting down because by the end of the first quarter everything was already taken. Afterwards getting out of the stadium was easy. There didn't seem much to do in the immediate area so you have to walk a little father to enjoy dinner or drinks after the game. read more

We had a fine time at the Smoothie King Center. We went on 3/18/23 to the the Professional Bull Riders invitational. We had a fine time. We did park in a closed lot with an attendant and a state trooper at the entrance/exit. That's always nice. This photo is from section 303. I think it was a great view. The venue as well as the bathrooms were clean with plenty of staff and security. One thing to note.... fountain drinks come with no lid and no straws. This is a great arena. I have been here quite a few times and it has never disappointed. I remember when it was called New Orleans Arena. Most of the staff is very friendly. It is a safe family atmosphere and the place is very clean. At the moment, you have to present proof of COVID vaccination, but I find it odd that you don't have to show an ID with it and prove that it is your test or card. As you are walking to the stadium you will probably encounter someone trying to sell you some tickets, or better yet, a Fireball shot. But that happens at most every arena. Just keep walking and be nice but firm, and you will make it to the arena with minimal hassle. Being built in 1999, it has been updated many times and is very modern. It has more led lights that a Christmas tree. The inside and outside is well lit. It seats a maximum of 18,500 people and has 56 executive suites. The arena has a ton of parking garages that it shares with the SuperDome across the street. There is more than ample parking for arena events. The last event that I attended here was a Pelicans game. They had a lot of fun stuff to do like a pre-game brass band and pictures with Santa. There is a ton of bathrooms and food options in the area including Zatarains, Big Easy Daiquiri, Sweet Shack, Krispy Krunchy Chicken, and of course Smoothie King. You will also find a team store, (of course you will) in the arena, which is touchless, so they only take electronic payment. The arena is a circle, so no matter which way you go, you wont get lost. But the staff is there to help you if you need the most direct route, There is no smoking allowed in the arena. They have an outdoor smoking section fenced off where smokers can go out, smoke, and come back in. With the large Jumbotron, there is no really bad seat in the house. This is one of my favorite arenas. Event held here include boxing, MMA fights, WWE wrestling, concerts, trade shows, Pelican's games, NCAA basketball, bull riding, and monster trucks. I love coming to this arena. I know I will be treated good, eat good, and have a great time. This arena has my stamp of approval. read more

Visiting from the Bay Area, my sister and I celebrated her birthday with a trip to New Orleans, and since she's a Boston Celtics fan, attending the Pelicans vs. Celtics game was the perfect birthday gift for her. The game was super fun! One of the Pelicans fans sitting next to us was incredibly friendly, funny, and entertaining--his playful trash talk had us laughing the whole time. We had a fabulous time soaking in the lively atmosphere and cheering on the Celtics. I also grabbed some snacks from the food court, and the employees were so nice and professional, which made the experience even better. Between the great game, the hilarious fan banter, and the excellent service, it was an unforgettable night. I wouldn't mind going back for another game--highly recommend catching a game in New Orleans if you're in town! read more

I really do enjoy attending events here! It seems to be the go-to spot for most big concerts in NOLA now. I'll just start with my two gripes: the staff and screens. It's really a hit or miss with how friendly the staff are, in my opinion. Sometimes, they tend to rush you and have snappy attitudes. Second, during my most recent attendance, the screens were a little blurry. It was really weird because all the screens were not blurry at once. Nonetheless, I still give this place a 4.5/5! Here's why: it's has an amazing "intimate" setting. I think you get a good/decent view of the stage and pick up the audio well wherever you're seated. I personally enjoy the right 100 level; it always provides me the best view and sound. As an aside, I find this place much more comfortable--temperature wise--than the Dome and Lakefront Arena. I'm almost always cold, but I tolerate this place very well. The food and beverages are pretty good! They're moderately pricey, as expected. The Center has always been clean, in my experience. There are plenty of parking facilities nearby and convenient drop off spots in front of and near the building. This is especially good for people with disabilities. Speaking of, there is a designated ADA line for people with disabilities, and staff usually assist with getting those guests inside. Overall, great venue! read more

I went for a Courtside experience on be half of She Be Eatin. I was able to experience the backcourt club / Chairman's club and get to have access to some great food and drink options. This access comes with the purchase of a courtside seat. Food and drinks are served through out the fourth quarter unlike the rest of the venue. As the players were preparing to run out of the tunnel before the start of the game we were able to watch from the lounge. The food options were almost endless. From meals to snacks there was a candy wall, a popcorn machine, scallops being served, Sliders, tacos, there was even a seafood station with a mountain of boiled shrimp and dungeness crabs. Over the past two weeks we have had two very different experiences at Smoothie King, both were great. First tickets we won in a raffle and were court side. Wow, such an amazing experience. We got there early and went through the special court side door into the club were we were treated to all you can eat and drink. The club stays open through the game so you never need to purchase concessions. The seats themselves were super comfortable and oh so close to the action, a true experience I will never forget. Last night we went again but with upper level seats we paid for. Sure we were pretty high up but we could still see everything going on the court clearly. I only give 4 stars because the food and drink are a little too expensive and meh, popcorn had been sitting out for a while and the pretzel was cold and undercooked. Beer is almost 11 dollars which is crazy. We will go back I love the Pelicans but we will make sure and eat before hand. read more

My husband and I had an amazing experience last night at the Pels and Jazz game! Paid for courtside seats, received a vip experience. Separate entrance, Free food, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks, free tee, great seats next to the Pels bench. The bathrooms were clean, love the faucet dryer combo, no a-holes(this was a plus). This place has top notch security that kept all of us safe. Parking at the dome is very convient, if you have a handi lic just let the cashier know so you can stay on the first floor. If you can walk it save it for those that can't. There is a place by the front where you can be dropped off and then park for those with wheelchairs or special needs. read more

So we went to the Smoothie King Center to check out a Pelicans game! It was just a short walk from our hotel so we didn't have to fight with traffic. They had the security checkpoints outside so that made the process easy. Once inside I was pleased surprised with the set up of the facility. We had great seats so that made the experience even better! I advise avoiding the pretzels if you get food from the concession stands because they were so crappy that we returned them. I went to a show recently. I watched people being asked to leave because of recording. To only be in the seat area and rows of people smoked marijuana and it was ignored. It was my husband surprise gift we don't smoke and New Orleans isn't legal. I express my health condition with Adam from Ticket Master and he gave me a $20.00 credit as if i would ever use this service again. I express that they need to speak with this venue about this matter because we drove 4 hours to not be able to enjoy the show. My husband NEVER get sick and was sick after leaving this show! New Orleans is a very dangerous place and if we had went and told someone we fear we would not have made it home. So why not address the matter with them and if you are going to charger is $300 to 400 dollars please make it worth it for the paying customers. This is a great arena with a more intimate feel. Don't get me wrong, it's big, but not as big as our Superdome. I also like that it's fairly easy to navigate. The staff is friendly and helpful inside. Lots of clean restrooms, too. I'm going to have to hang onto a star for the high price of the food and the fact that there were no employees outside directing patrons after my most recent trip. EXERCISE YOUR RIGHT TO VOTE. I recently went to the Smoothie King Center to cast my early vote and I have to say it was so well organized. The adjacent parking lot was free to utilize and it was so easy to navigate. There were plenty of signs outlining where to get in line to vote. Lucky for me at the time of voting, I was the second person outside so I was able to be ushered in without any problems. Everyone had to wear masks in order to get in and they had key markers outlining 6ft. The voting polls were on the second floor and the bathrooms were open. As you were nearing check-in there was a station to pick-up a voter example ballot and the assigned individual asked for your zip code and name to give you the right one. Once I was next to cast my vote, I checked in at one of the stations with my ID and was direct to a voting kiosk. They hand over an assigned key and a finger "condom" so you're not directly touching the screen. Every machine was being disinfected in-between each use. It was a great experience for voting the first time in Louisiana. read more

Reasons I have been to the SKC: * to go vote (2020) * to see the Police from a suite! (2007) * to see Cirque du Soleil perform (?) * to actually see a basketball game (???) This sports arena works as a multipurpose space and I really appreciated that it was opened up for use as an early voting location for the 2020 Presidential Election. Plenty of parking nearby. Good signage. For voting, social distancing was enforced, everyone wore masks and we were given finger cots to cast our ballot on the touch screens. Fastest voting experience ever! read more

I've gone to the Smoothie King Center a couple times in the last month and had 2 completely different experiences. The 1st experience was for a Pels Game. We sat court side in the 2nd row. That experience was great! Of course being right in the midst of the on court action was great, but also court side lounge was very nice. The food was great, drinks we're good, staff was nice, friendly, and efficient. I wish I could remember the bartender's name but she remembered our drink orders each time we went to her. The 2nd experience was for a concert that my friend and I decided to get last minute tickets for. We sat in section 305, row 1. The view from the seat was as expected. This is 3rd level so you're obviously not close to the stage but I could see the entire stage, the monitors on each side and I didn't feel like I was watching the concert from heaven. The only negative about the seat which was a big deal for me and why I'll never sit in this section again was the fact that the AC blew directly on me the entire night. So I was cold and annoyed by air constantly blowing on me. The other issue I had was with the bar service. There was a small bar with 3 bartenders not far from our seats. Unfortunately these 3 bartenders were extremely slow and inefficient. The two times when I went to the bar, the lines were soooo long and caused us to miss parts of the performances because we were still waiting. I'm sure I'll find myself back at the Smoothie King Center for an event. I will make sure not to sit in section 305 and have low expectations for the bar service. read more

So just left here for the SEC Gymnastics Championships. The stadium parking was very near the entrance. It was a very short walk. The parking for this event was $20. The stadium did allow us to go in and out between sessions. This gave us the opportunity to walk to the French Quarter which is about a mile away. I visited the team store and purchased a shirt. A lot ig the great was over priced but that's just like any stadium. Overall the stadium was clean. The bathrooms were stocked and had a lot of stalls. We sat way up bur the view wasn't that bad. The floors were still sticky which was not pleasant. I didn't purchase any food ort beverages so no comment on that. I say in section 331 row 12. read more

Had a great time watching the Pelicans take on the OKC Thunder. Entry was quick and easy. You will have to go through a metal detector and your bag is subject to search. Once inside the venue seating sections are clearly marked by great signage. I sat in section 106 row C (first row). The seats were large and comfortable. Good idea? Caught my first ever NBA game with a co-worker while in NOLA on business. Bad idea? It was between the Denver Nuggets and the New Orleans Pelicans WITHOUT Anthony Davis, their star player. Tickets were reasonably priced ($68) considering the semi-closeness to "the action." Then again, the quality of game play was pretty bad; I've seen college b-ball games with more skill and entertainment value. Seats were comfy and place was pretty clean. Upside was we had no loyalty to either team so we left after the third quarter to beat the crowd, though the arena was less than half-full. It was here when I used Uber for the first time. This isn't a place you want to walk at night, especially alone. Away from the game, the arena had lots of amenities to offer! Outside there were games, food and minor tailgating. Inside, informative posters, souvenir stands, and a great deal of reasonably priced food (loaded nachos) and drink concessions. Lots of helpful staff present to direct newbies like us. For a pro sports venue, I thought the arena did a nice job of strategically placing offerings throughout the venue. I didn't indulge too heavily since NOLA has a ton of great restaurants. Loads of multi-media that interfaces with social media marketing; I tweeted a photo that it was my first NBA game and they showed it on the Jumbotron!Restrooms were clean and pretty well stocked. While exploring, I actually stumbled upon the Pelicans' cheer dance team, practicing for half time. They ended up performing with Trombone Shorty, a local musician. read more

I ventured to this arena to see the incomparable Queen Mary J. Bilge for a friend's birthday! She was phenomenal and ga e is a heck of a show! They did sell tickets that some of my friends weren't happy with due to the acoustics. If you sell tickets I'm the back of the arena, make sure there are speakers that go completely around to ensure everyone can hear the greatness that Queen Mary has to offer. There were plenty of people and security and no incidents of violence or outbursts amongst the patrons! Would I go back of course; it's New Orleans! read more

Great venue for a game! Even better than Oracle. And a hell of a lot cheeper too! Actually based on our seats purchased the day of, those would be 250 more per seat in Cali! It's actually about the same $$$ to fly to NOLA, get a hotel have a nice dinner and go to the game have a nice breakfast and fly home. Hmmm this may be an annual thing!!! Being a Dr Dre aficionado, I was a little disappointed in the sound system. They were definitely "break em off sumthin" All During the game... "and it's got to be bumping"...and it just wasn't thumpin. Got to give it up to the NBA and the folks at Smoothie King area. This is family friendly clean entertainment. The staff is polite and helpful.clean lounge areas and places to chill, get something to eat or drink and enough screens to not miss a second of the event. Must say with the warriors in town, I get there are a few "fair weather fans" out there, but we were surprised by the number of Dub fans in attendance who at time seemed equally as loud as the home team fans. Made me almost feel sorry for Boogie Cousins! On the long walk back to the hotel, I saw a guy with a Chris Mullens jersey. I've been to this stadium various times for basketball games, but this review is for a concert I recently attended. Pros: The only pro was that the concert was amazing! & Nice acoustics. Cons: The parking garage..took over an hour for us to exit. All of the jitters and happy feelings from the show completely died when people were honking and arguing at one another, not letting other people pull out, and being frustrated with waiting so long to exit the garage. I would never, ever park in their garage again. It really dampened the experience overall. Staff: Whoa! Me and my sisters stayed ten min after the show to take some photos in our seats, and were asked to leave. We exited to the main lobby, where everyone was waiting or their rideshares. We start taking photos in a hallway and was asked to leave. It was just ridiculous. We paid to have a full experience and to have fun. No one was clocking out any time soon, with the other 100 people in the lobby. Let us get our money's worth. The staff was horribly rude. That needs to be addressed immediately. I'm primarily here for Pelicans games. For Pelicans games, the security is pretty easy. I recommend not bringing a bag in order to speed up the process. Concession stands have greatly improved since I started coming to Pelicans (then Hornets) games in 2012. Lots of choices and if you're a Pelicans season ticket holder you get a discount during the games. Staff is super friendly and if you go to enough games, they start to remember you. This is also a great place to see a concert. The last time I was here for a New Kids on the Block concert, they had changed a lot of the men's rooms to women's. I spent 2 of the last 3 of my lovely nights at the Smoothie King Center and i absolutely loved both of them. On Saturday night I enjoyed some floor seats for NXT Takeover and on Monday night I sat at the top for Monday Night Raw. Everything about this venue was fantastic. They were completely organized letting people in, all of the staff was super friendly and helpful, and any venue that has a Smoothie King (well, this was a give in thanks to the name) in it gets a big thumbs up in my books! Overall, I would love to hit up a Pelicans game the next time I am visiting New Orleans, the fans here are lucky to have such a cool place to watch games. read more

I was here for a Pelicans game after David got some suite tickets and man was it fun! I had been to a Pelicans game one other time, but I had never viewed it from the comfort of a suite and, let me tell you, there is simply no other way to watch an event here. The suite is gorgeous with a great view, super comfy seats and a menu that you can order goodies from. The Pelicans game was a blast and I love that they do interactive activities with the audience during "breaks" and the half-time performance was fantastic. The Smoothie King Center isn't so big that you feel as if you're miles away from the action and, although I watched most of the game on the big screens, I had no problem seeing all of the action on the court. The staff was excellent and we found our seats with no issues. The only hiccup came when we were leaving getting out of the garage took and while was a bit of a pain, but that's to be expected at a place like this. read more

The huge mostly out of sight speakers fill every inch of the arena whether it's a home home game or concert. Thanks to the staff and well positioned escalators/steps I've never experienced a wait time or traffic jam when navigating to my seat. Finally the restrooms and Food Court border the entrance to each walkway heading to your seats. There's no way you'll walk out of your way for either. read more

The arena is first class! The people who work there are friendly they're very receptive, and go out of their way to help you. The first time I went to the smoothie King arena. I pay $20 to park. After realizing that there are plenty of parking spaces nearby that don't require you to pay and are absolutely safe i.e. to the west side of the Superdome, needless to say I no longer pay for parking. They have plenty of lines open to screen you as you come in, so you're not waiting in long lines to be checked. They also only require you if you are a mail to remove your keys and your cell phone from your pockets. If you are a woman they require you to go through a line that checks bags. I want to smoothie king arena to watch the Pelicans play the Rockets I am a season ticket holder in the club section for the pelicans. They have a wide assortment of food ranging from seafood to prime rib from Cheeto popcorn to New York style pizza! The places are pretty pricey but not more than it will cost you any other arena. The Pelicans actually have some of the lowest priced tickets in the NBA as a matter fact just last year they were ranked as having the lowest ticket cost of any team thanks Mr. Benson (R.I.P.) So if you're looking for a great place to go with the family to check out some great NBA games where they have different activities for the kids and the entire family can have fun I suggest that you go and check The New Orleans pelicans game at the smoothie King arena! read more
