This location is close to my job and always a favorite. It's located in a shopping center where the harris teeter is at. Small parking lot, so it can be a tight fit, especially if you go during lunchtime. I came during lunch and there were two workers so It did take them about 15min to make my smoothie but no worries. Good thing I was not in a rush. Either way, the employees were super friendly and greeted me, welcoming me as soon as I walked through the door. They now have smoothie bowls, which I'm going to try eventually. They have all their normal get fit blends and meal replacement smoothies. I def recommend this location, but I definitely recommend ordering online so that you don't have yo wait long. read more

Even while busy with customers, two of the girls working were distracted behind the counter looking and something on their phone. I always come to this location because it is clean, friendly, and efficient. I always get the chocolate protein or the angel food cake. The angel food cake is a simple blend of strawberries and bananas while the chocolate protein is better for after a workout. If you have the app you can get money off and on Fridays they have the 32 oz smoothies for $6 or less. This location is never too busy and always clean. The employees are always friendly and are there to offer suggestions if you don't know what to get. This place is definitely a good place to visit if you want something healthy but good! read more

The East Blvd location is by far the best Smoothie King to visit in Charlotte. I moved here in June 2014 and have been going every since my first visit. Always fast, efficient and exceptional service. I go usually at opening, 7A, the morning crew is great. They remember exactly what i order, even when they are busy, they are fast at getting your smoothie ready and getting you on your way. As for the smoothies, I get the Angelfood skinny, only 254 calories for a small, and definitely a great choice if you are looking to control your calories and fat intake. While the Smoothie selection is pretty decent, there's nothing that really blew me away. I settled on a citrusy one, and it was pretty good but I've definitely had better. The store itself is pretty boring, and the staff didnt seem particularly excited to be there, so the overall experience wasn't that great. Terrible customer service here....When my smoothie was made it was put into a plastic cup before I had the chance to notice. I immediately asked the employee if I could get a foam cup instead. Your employee who I believe identified herself as a manager (Black woman, long braids, glasses, 30's) proceeded to admonish me and tell me next time I need to let them know so that they don't waste cups. I let her know that I didn't know to ask because at the location that I normally go to the employees typically ask rather I would like a foam or a plastic cup. She then proceeded to talk over me and tell me that she doesn't know what they do at other locations but she's the manager there and next time I need to ask if I want to foam cup. While I can understand your organization's goal of doing what is best for the environment, I don't think that such a rude approach is effective and it most certainly doesn't make for a great experience (not to mention, I asked for the foam cup because it was 30 degrees outside so not ideal weather for holding a frozen drink). I am a regular customer at Smoothie King and this experience made me never want to return. If your process on foam cups vs plastic cups is going to be different store to store, I would suggest you all consider putting up signage vs having a manager speak to customers in a way that you'd speak to a child that misbehaved. I also find it amazing that people think they can speak rudely to perfect strangers in their workplace and that it's supposed to be tolerated. The smoothies are usually, though not always, good. On occasion, I get one that honestly just seems like a cup of ice. The bigger issue is the staff. On my most recent visit on a Saturday, there were two young men working, looked to be teenagers. I walked in and there was one other customer ahead of me who ordered and one of the employees began to prep her smoothie. The other just laughed and joked with him. I stood there. And stood there. And stood there. Aaaaaaaand stood there. Finally, one of them said "will take your order in just a minute." After another two minutes or so he came back to the register and asked for my order, which I told him. Those were the last words he said to me. Rang it up while talking to his co-worker, didn't ask if I wanted or offer a receipt, while making the smoothie he stopped while they laughed and joked and I saw the contents just sitting there in the blender before it had even been put on the machine, and then when he got back to it he blended it, put it in the cup, put it on the counter and never said a single word. Terrible experience. Awful customer service. And the store smelled like mildew. I went to this location about once a week but I won't be back. read more

Going to Charlotte was me and my husbands first experience tasting Smoothie King. And I MUST say, they are the KINGS. Everything was so perfect and well-blended. I promise after our first time going we went every day after through the entire vacation (we stayed a week)! It really sucks that there isn't one in driving distance of us at home. I went to the store at 5 and ended up struggling to answer the "2 questions" the pin machine made me answer. It wouldn't let me say no to a tip and I had to wait over 5 mins for assistance. After that I waited in line for over 20 minutes, was skipped by 3 other people (who all ordered after me) and ended up getting a smoothie that was more like a slushy. it was icy, and the worker had to sit there scooping it out because it was not smoothie consistency. Why do I even bother coming to this location??? I've been quite a few times and every blue moon I get a decent person. This morning I guess they thought they were busy with me being the 3rd person in there. Girl says dryly "Hi, you know what you want?" No smile. That's fine... she greeted me. I've said in previous reviews at least acknowledge my presence. But how about I get to the register and now she has a smile on her face all cheery and bubbly ready to check me out. (Complete opposite of what I received when I walked in the door). Perhaps she was glad I was the last customer she had to serve? Maybe she thought she was going to get a tip? NOPE! NOT TODAY HUNTY! You lost out! Now I used to work at Smoothie King (in my late 20's!) so the teenagers and youngins in the store should really check their attitudes. Although I should have been salary at the time, I had to humble myself, put a smile on my face, greet all patrons that came in and not only serve them but offer them products from the shelves all with a chipper attitude... even though I'm thinking I should have more than this with 2 Masters degrees. It also wasn't close to the amount that is normally in the cup. I didn't think much of it, especially considering how crowded the store was. I thought they may have been rushed. Also make sure to check the nutrition label before ordering a lot of their smoothies are loaded with calories, don't assume it is healthy because it has fruit. I also think they are very pricey. I would rather go and get a fresh juice for the prices. They do stock a lot of other healthy snacks and such which is convenient, not sure you would need more calories after the smoothie though. I didn't look at the prices of the snacks so I can not comment on that. When I went they were having a special on one of the add ins and the girl forgot to take the discount off my order before charging me then seemed like it was a hassle for her to have to fix the mistake. I love Smoothie King and come to this location or the Park Rod location on a regular basis. The smoothies are pretty good here but I am giving 3 stars mainly because of the service level that you get here. The employees are so loud and ridiculous. Always gossiping and even about customers standing in the lobby. There is always a lack of organization and your wait is twice as long as at other locations. I think service is just a huge part of life nowadays and I hate the side conversations, yelling and screaming back and forth and just the blatant disrespect always going on in this location.
