YET, receipt read $8.19 (smh???), not a huge difference but left me very confused.??? The bowl we wanted to sub almond butter for the peanut butter and the accommodated very kindly. That Truly should be an option in everything that offers PB, some folks can't eat peanuts (specifically). On a hot day, like every other day in San Antonio, this Smoothie King makes it very easy to order something and get in and out without any problems. On this particular visit, it took a total of 5 min to get in an order and get my three smoothies (2 Lil Angels and a Pure Energy). The guy that took my order was respectful and audible through the the mic. The kids' smoothies didn't last long, and they confirmed it was because the smoothies were delicious. Mine was good too. I didn't have any trace of powdery taste or chunkiness. If anything I would say it was perfect, but could have been icier on a scorching 100+ day like today... remember, this is Smoothie King, and not Icee King... so, you get a good product that doesn't get left in the cup after you suck out all the flavor. I'm addicted... Daily Warrior, no sweetener. Staff is great, almost everyone has been really cool. They love that I bring my own stainless steel straw... I've been told they are working on having an option to buy a reusable straw from them, so fingers crossed they go that direction. If you didn't know plastic straws are not recyclable so it's best just to say no when they are offered anywhere. Personally, I carry a little bag in my purse with about seven different sizes of metal reusable straws so I'm doing my part to help the environment whenever I can. Matthew has been the best, always enjoy talking to him at the drive-thru. I'm not huge into smoothies, juices, etc... but I'm starting to really enjoy them on occasion and for some reason, this one smoothie keeps me coming back for more. (pretty sure it's the peanut butter.) Now they aren't always the same, some are better than others, but it's all good. $5 Fridays for a 32 oz medium smoothie... and be sure to download the app so they scan it to build up points for discounts and freebies! I was contacted by the relevant leadership of this Smoothie King to give them another chance. I don't always take management up on these offers as some food is too bad to risk a repeat experience. But with our drinks it was a texture issue. Finally a day came where I really needed a pick me up and the Pure Recharge Mango Strawberry was just what I needed. I contacted the manager who'd offered me the redo and it went really smoothly. My companion who picked up the drinks said the girl who made our drinks was really pleasant to deal with and took my comments about the gritty texture seriously. I could tell! The drinks were a touch melty on the very top by the time he got to my work down the road but right under that the drink was nice and icy. Nothing like the loose drink we'd gotten before. We both agreed we were happy with these... taste, texture and pick me up were all there and stellar. I'd definitely give this location another shot. At the time of our arrival they only had one costumer in the drive-thru window, there were no costumers inside the location. So, we got in and no body acknowledge our presence. I used to come here out of sheer convenience, this was the best location relative to me, and they usually got my order right. However, there's been a sharp decline in the quality of service I've received each time I've come here. The workers are unpleasant, rude, and in my latest experience, very petty. I'm hard of hearing, deaf in one ear, and as I struggled to hear the employees voice through their intercom, I asked them to speak up. She kindly let me know the sweetener in the shake I ordered wasn't recommended for pregnant woman, offered another and joked I shouldn't have too much of it.
