I used to love coming here because of how inexpensive and good everything was. I've always been treated very kindly by the workers and it felt like family. Today we stopped by and it was about 15 min before they closed and we were just going to order and leave but the teenage boy that works there told us it was closed and that today they decided to close a few min early. So rude. He clearly just did not want to serve us. I left so angry because that is not how you do business. I was looking forward to going there for a while and now because of that I will not be supporting their business anymore. read more

My friend got corn in a cup and their prepared mineral water and I got the lime paleta and everything was good, reasonably priced, and quick! The workers didn't wear gloves which did make me nervous, but their masks were just and secure on their face. read more

This frutería is truly legit. I had been looking for a snack place that offered authentic Mexican snacks. I had been to the other fruteria los Trejo. This one wasn't too far from us. We have tried the Nieves, the corn in a cup, frito pies, and many other items. They are all delicious. They even offer Mexican corn on the weekends, which makes a difference. Blown Away by the Mangonadas! Servings were a good size with the chamoy and chili, everything came out Great! This is the perfect open late night spot for freshly made to order Mexican fruit cups, they have other items also like ice cream, snow cones, mango nadas and etc... they have a Simi wide variety for flavors. I ordered a large fruit cup with: strawberries, pineapples, & apples ( XTR Chile & lime added ) I was well pleased with how they cut the fruits to the perfect bite sizes even the apples!! Most places put huge chucks, but at this place your getting more bang for your buck with the fruit being cut smaller. An authentic Mexican place with a variety of food, ranging from Mexican shaved ice, fruit cups, snow cones, corn, and aguas frescas. All perfect foods for a Texas summer! $5 for a large shaved ice will get you 3-4 flavors if your heart so desires! My favorites are mango, lime, and watermelon. Lime is muy refreshing. Chamoy and chili available on request. Cash and card both accepted (though minimum $5 purchase for card!). Owners are the nicest and friendliest people ever. The PERFECT Mexican snacks! I love their Tostitos preparados and their delicious mangonada. I usually frequent this place in the summer time when I am craving something fresh and fruity. They have a variety of snacks to chose from, as well as delicious aguas frescas. My favorite would have to be their melon. Their fruit is always delicious. I recommend probably getting the chamoy on the side because it can be a little sour and hot. Service could be a little better. It seems like the workers are never really in the mood. That's the only reason why they are getting 4 stars instead of 5. Don't forget to swing by anytime your in the area! read more

I like this place ok and will most likely go back at some point but I just don't think it is as good as Las Nieves. It's saving grace is the location for me. It is a lot closer to work and the wait time was not too terrible. But then again las Nieves has those lines for a reason. I got my standby- large coconut shaved ice and a corn in the cup. The shaved ice just wasn't as finely crushed as Las Nieves and the coconut flavor not as robust. It tasted slightly more watered down. Honestly if I had not had a las Nieves shaved ice first, I would be nuts over this but it's just not quite as good. My friends mango shaved ice was similarly watered down and just not quite as good. It was a subtle difference but detectable. The corn in the cup was pretty good though. It got watery towards the end but the flavors were really nice. I would definitely buy this again. We also got the chilindrinas (basically a large chicharrone with toppings). I've never had it before. My friends and I were not crazy about the boiled pork skin slices on top of the chicharrones. But the servers did offer to let us try before buying. They seemed to know we didn't realize what we were getting ourselves into. However, it was fairly inexpensive ($5) so it was fun to try. One thing that las Nieves definitely has over this is outdoor seating! Las Nieves has a ton of outdoor seating and we did not appreciate that until now. There were 2 small tables inside Los Fruteria and were lucky to get one of them. Overall, pretty solid but knowing Las Nieves is out there, I just can't give this more stars. read more

There are several items from which to choose. I got my staple when trying a new frutería place - corn in a cup. They had a choice of using Lukas or using hotter chili. The service was fast, and the corn was very tasty. It didn't seem too hot to me, and I got some paletas (ice cream bars) to go. The cup was packed completely full. I highly recommend stopping by. read more

My previous go-to snack shack was Las Nieves when i was living in their area. After moving to medical center, i am so overjoyed to be able to recommend this place. The menu has both English and Spanish making ordering simple and straightforward. I had corn in a cup and a mango shaved ice. Perfection. I can't believe I've never tried this before..I'm not a fan of snow cones, but this one tastes more like a sorbet with mango chunks. The greatest place in San Antonio for fresh fruit cups and the best customer service! This family owned established is nothing far from perfection when it comes to service and kindness. Every time I stop in I'm greeted with smiles and quick service. I've literally tried everything from the fruits cups, corn cups, mangonadas, Aguas frescas, banana splits and ice cream and everything was super fresh and divine! I was introduced to this place last year and have been back many times since then. With this kind of Texas heat, it's been a no-brainer to drive by and get a fruit cup or some aguas frescas. I highly recommend it. They accept credit cards, which is an added bonus. You get really friendly service and a great product. read more
