Trader Joe's at the Quarry will always be a five star for me! This is my go-to TJ location in San Antonio. I've been coming here for years, and thinking back I don't think I've ever had a bad experience. They have the friendliest staff ever and they are always super helpful when I can't find something. They truly go above and beyond and will even check the back for you when you are looking for something. One of my favorite things about Trader Joe's is their flower section. They have some of the freshest and most beautiful flowers, and they offer the best prices on flowers in San Antonio. I've compared them to local flower wholesalers and TJ still beats them. If you are buying a large amount of flowers make sure to get some of their free buckets which are located by the entrance to the store. It just makes it easier to transport all your flowers. Besides the amazing flowers, their unique seasonal items are always great. I love to discover new snacks or sauces that you can't find at other grocery stores. Another favorite section for me is their cheese section. They have a small but mighty section of cheeses at great prices. "rich folks store" (atleast back home in Cali ).. people don't realize Trader Joe's is very reasonable!! Meat is a little bit more but the quality is amazing! If you're looking for unique, healthier items. This is the place! From fresh flowers, to shampoos, to great wine and beer in the middle you have great cheeses! Great breads! Amazing quality meats! A good variety of more international food items - curries, salsas, tiki masala's.. and their cool frozen items!! Man.. today they had free samples of Kabobs , a hummus dip and an Orange Mimosa.. My first trip ever to Trader Joe's (yes, I know) and it was surprisingly reasonable. I didn't buy many things, but it was still pretty inexpensive. The only thing is there is not a lot of room for multiple carts in the aisles, the employees have blinders on and do not appear approachable (except for a few cashiers), and the parking lot is disorganized and hazardous with these "decorative" rocks placed right next to parking spots; one scraped the edge of my sister's door from opening it only halfway. read more

Wow, how much things have changed in 7 years. I have changed too. I really am glad I gave TJ's a visit after 7 years of avoiding. I think it's because I have more patience to actually shop instead of just grab and go. It was great being able to go to the website and build my list before hand. There are so many cool products. Today I purchased green chili cheese tamales, Spanish rice, and cheese chili rillenos. They are frozen foods that I was able to prepare in just minutes and they are actually very tasty! read more

What is not to like about Trader Joe's?! The large array of snacks, desserts, frozen meals, dairy, produce, alcohol, nuts, all natural beauty items and more make this a great one stop shop. I always stock up when I visit. Their ice creams are awesome (get the ube), white truffle potato chips, 1lb bakers chocolate bar, dried chili mangoes, and Thai lime almonds are all favorites. My dog goes crazy for their beef treats and crispy salmon skin snacks. Most products are very affordable and have great options. I love Trader Joe's! They have lots of reasonably priced items that you would get it on a daily basis. Has found them to be much less expensive than other grocery stores in my area. I have tons of international foods, fresh and frozen. They also have tons of foods for people with specialty diets such as gluten-free, vegan or vegetarian. Although they are a small supermarket, they pack in quite a bit of options for you. The service is exceptional, the store is nicely, decorated, and well organized. They have tons of fresh flowers or plants at a very reasonable price. I have been trying to use them for all of my groceries. There are a few things they don't carry though so I do have to stop other places to make up for that. Regardless, it's worth the trip. read more

Can't say enough positive things about Trader Joe's and the location. It's nestled in a shopping center adjacent to the Alamo quarry. It's right across from an apartment complex and sweetgreen. I usually shop here once a week early in the morning or late in the evening because they don't have the biggest parking lot so it can be challenging looking for a parking spot. I really love the unique items that are available on a weekly basis; something new is always coming in and I really like that. For example, they have great smelling candles and nice plants that rotate in frequently. Moreover, I absolutely love purchasing salmon from here because it's already pre-cut so that is very convenient. The salmon seems fresh and is cheaper than other options: $9.99/lb. Trader Joe's is a nice store. It's clean and very healthy. The service is awesome, and it has new selections each week. We bought an organic carrot juice that tasted so good! It had the clean drink taste but that is what you can expect at Trader Joe's: the very best. The parking situation can get busy fast and the interior will get packed pretty easily. The lines move quick but many people enjoy the browsing part of Trader Joe's. Plan to find what you're looking for and then some. There are regularly new items in the shelves and even hidden around the store mixed in with others. Prices are a little elevated given you're shopping here in Alamo Heights but you gain a lot of quality from each item. Don't go shopping here on Sunday, it's way too crowded. read more

This Trader Joe's is packed with a good quantity, quality, and specialty products! It's always good to know what you want before going in, but then some other cool things happen to hop in for the ride as well. The chips, snacks, and frozen aisle is where the most hitch-hikeresque food likes to come from...Hmm might have to go back there and revisit those aisles... Trader Joe's has a surprising amount of international food selection, too! I especially like their pecorino blend of cheese, arugula, prosciutto, naan bread, olive oils, marinara sauce, and a bottle of Green Fin organic wine....put it all together and you have yourself a DIY pizza night! Or you can grab one of their amazing less than $4 style frozen pizzas (4 formaggi and margerita are my favorite) and have them just like that or all customized. I think I must be crazing pizza. Nonetheless this Trader Joe's has stocked shelves, friendly staff, and an organized social distancing protocol. *During COVID-19* The line may build up, but it goes fast...they are limiting the amount of people in the store but it frankly makes the whole shopping trip inside real fast! We've received some great service from the crew members before at the Quarry location.. like the one man who gave my son his game card to Round 1 when my son told him we would be going there later on for a late birthday celebration. Today was another one of those above and beyond days. Nayeli was so kind and crew members like her are the reason we go to that particular location. As a pumpkin-spice, fall loving, sweater weather girl, their products bring so much joy to my beginning-of-fall-mad-dash on the stores to snatch up fall products as soon as they drop. (Gotta get my fall on ASAP, even if the Texas weather doesn't necessarily comply.) Thankfully, Trader Joe's is also on top of dropping their products earlier than other stores in the area! I have been to a couple of Trader Joes all over and this one is great! The size is pretty moderate but it has everything that you need. The workers are always eager to help you out and super kind if you have any questions. I love going to the frozen section and they truly have some of the best desserts + quick fix meals if you're ever on the rush. Some of my favorites are the chicken soup dumplings, mushroom chicken, and orange chicken! I also love their snacks. They have very niche flavors like dill pill chips and ube covered pretzels! It's unfortunate that some of these are only seasonal. If you're a big cheese person, their selection of cheese is also very widespread. Some of my favorites are the dill pickle cheese and the unexpected cheese! They also have the cutest but reasonably priced flowers. I love their selection! Gotta love Trader Joe's !!! Great quality & value, consistent superior customer service level. Selection of produce, meats, deli & dairy very good. I've noticed Trader Joe's has the best prices for organic produce compared to other grocery stores. I especially like the wine selections, it's a hidden gem. I've discovered a few favorite European wines for less than $10, with the quality of a $30 or more wine bottle. It wouldn't surprise me if some of the wines at Trader Joe's would be rated 89 or above. I personally prefer French, Portuguese or Italian wines. Even though Trader Joe's isn't a huge grocery store, it's plentiful of unique groceries you can't find elsewhere. Plus the staff is genuinely courteous & helpful, providing great customer service in a cheerful attitude! Careful with a single item getting scanned twice on Your receipt at this location. As this is the 2nd time that this has happened to Me at this location. The first time I let it slide but today called & talked to the manager, Avan. He apologized in a rush but can't give a refund until I'm there in person. Which is a hassle for Me since I live 30 minutes away. I've worked with pos and credit card machines in the past and I know that giving a refund is an easy fix. He didn't bother to ask who the cashier was to try to figure it out. It wasn't anything super expensive but it's the SECOND time this has happened. Now I have to stand by the register and scan my receipt before walking away at this location. Which I'm sure will be awkward. read more

This is my favorite place to shop for groceries. They always have great produce, and fresh foods daily. I love browsing through the aisles and finding new items or asking the store employees what their favorite things are. The employees are so nice and friendly. They are always willing to help! One time my favorite potstickers were out in the freezer section and the employee saw me disappointed, ran out to the truck that was delivering food that day and brought me 3 bags of them! COVID precautions: They are limiting the amount of people allowed in the store at any given time, there is usually a line outside but it goes quickly. They don't have baskets available but spray/disinfect all their grocery carts before putting them back for customer access.
