This was our first time trying Smoothie King and unfortunately, might be the last. We ordered a 20 oz Watermelon Hydration Smoothie and a kids size Caribbean Smoothie. When I got my smoothie, I thought they must have grabbed the larger cup by mistake, since it looked like more than 20 oz. We took our smoothies to go and started sipping in the car and both found that they tasted artificial and way too sweet. Also, they just weren't very thick. After a few sips, we abandoned all hope and went to Wawa to get a smoothie we could enjoy for almost half the price. While tossing the smoothies in the trash, I checked the receipt and realized I was actually charged for a 32 oz smoothie, which is why it looked so much bigger. Maybe some of the people leaving good reviews have unlocked the cheat code for a good smoothie here, but I just can't see myself spending more in hopes of finding one I enjoy. read more

This one is simple. You order a smoothie with ingredients of your choice, they make it, you pay (exorbitantly) and you go on with your life. Did the staff smile and carry on that I was there? Not that I recall. It tasted fine and I left. Can I make the same exact thing at home with a magic bullet and two dollars of ingredients. Probably... but the machine would probably need a 15 mile extension cord and my seats would be a mess. Five stars for the convenience. read more

I went to this location in Somerset, NJ and felt Discriminated against. I'm a black female, I walk in, I'm the only customer inside. As soon as I order my Açaí bowl another customer walks in and order a Smoothie who is a white female. The cashier who is a white male proceeds to make the smoothie first. I'm not saying anything I'm just watching. He gives her the smoothie, without her even paying for it. Then he proceeds to go in the back of the store, out of sight without saying a word or even looking at me!! I waited there at least 30 seconds which felt like a life time, then I just left. Last week, I went to the Somerset location and ordered a 32 oz. Banana and strawberry smoothie. When the young lady made the smoothie ($9.00+) she added powders, which I did not ask for and would later learn, I did not like. I went in today and told the person what I wanted and mentioned the smoothie I requested last week was not what I wanted and made sure she made it the way I always get it. When I went to the cash register to pay, I saw the 100% satisfaction guarantee, but today's girl ignored the fact that I didn't like last weeks smoothie. When she brought me my drink, it was not full (to the top) and I said to her while pointing out the satisfaction guarantee, that she should have offered today's smoothie at no cost, but I said not only are you not doing that, you are giving me a less than full serving and this is pretty expensive at $9.37. She totally ignored my comment. I will say the smoothie today tasted great, but I'm not happy with their customer satisfaction. I tried to find an email address to contact the owner, but when I clicked on Contact Us, I got a reply that said the survey is over. So, I received the reply below. I'm new to Smoothie King, I noticed this one went up near work, and I've been trying to commit to "eating" breakfast everyday to increase my productivity and energy level (as espoused in Tony Schwartz's "The Power of Full Engagement). Enter Smoothie King. My go to is the "Blueberry Heaven" Blueberries, Bananas, Vanilla Protein Blend, and Honey. I add a supplement to it - Joint and Tissue repair with MSM. The smoothie tastes good, and with the small (20 oz) size, it is only 325 calories. This will set you back about $6 which is a little steep, but you could waive the supplement and save some money. It is better for you than a pork roll and cheese or a bagel, so take that into consideration. You have to be careful with the sizes and calorie counts - A large "Cranberry Cooler" is close to 1,000 calories. They have a printed nutritional guide (which is very helpful.) The premises are well lit, clean and attractive. The staff is also friendly. read more

The smoothie quality was good but the guy Justin behind the counter was rude ! It's like he didn't want to be bothered . I get it it's hot out but the attitude the lack of a smile and the down right unfriendliness is extremely uncalled for . The young lady with the glasses behind the counter was super friendly and efficiently made me and my moms drinks . I don't appreciate anybody mistreating my mother so when somebody pays you at your place of business then you return a " have a nice day , or thank you " he said NOTHING and barely made eye contact . Service was fast and a typical smoothie king location layout meaning not a lot of seating or anything. The guy who made my smoothie didn't take off his headphones to help people. Just removed 1 from his ear. Also, they don't scan your app code but take your phone number even though they have the scanner...don't know why. read more

I have never been one to write an online review because I don't think they make a difference, but I have never felt more inclined than today. I will start off saying that I have been to this location on a few occasions and always leave satisfied other than the fact that the manager (Bill, who I have come to know) can be more than rude, and on today's occasion downright offensive, and the opposite of family friendly. I was on my way in and could not help but notice that there was somewhat of an altercation between Bill and two unnamed workers who were attempting to apply large promotional brand stickers to the liquor store located next door. From watching for only a few moments outside I could tell that the workers were simply trying to do their jobs until Bill made the mistake of thinking they were applying them to his store. After the workers politely informed him that they were just working on the establishment next door, he became more than irate. Bill began to become crude and obscene calling them vicious names and even began to physically threaten one of the workers if he did not inform him of his credentials (which he did several times). I was more than offended by him and his actions and believe in the respect of the hard working common man. I wish to stand up for those two young men and would have if I did not feel so threatened, so I choose to do so this way. End of story, do not go to Smoothie King in Somerset on Elizabeth Ave, not just because of the rude and unforgiving owner but also Jamba Juice tastes better anyway. read more
