We've been to this Smoothie King location twice and the customer service is always fantastic. The best I've had at any Smoothie a King. This morning I called ahead to order our smoothies (highly recommended - sometimes SK's get busy and it takes a little time to prepare them) and Robert even labeled them! I visited Smoothie King today 6/24/20 and the 2 employees making and handling the smoothies were not wearing masks. Although there was social distancing markers on floor, only 2 female customers were following guidelines as customers with masks. There were 3 men all standing close together - no face masks. Last time I visited this Smoothie King less than 2 weeks ago, the servers and food prep employees (2 of them), were wearing masks. I called in the order, and almost left without picking it up as I couldn't believe the employees were not wearing masks as mandated by both the City of Tampa and Hillsborough County as all persons in indoor places are required to do. It is not taking precautions if the employees making the smoothies and handing them to you are not wearing masks. I will not return to this location. I used to work at Smoothie King in Jacksonville so maybe this review is biased. At mine, and at the others that the awesome owners had, the energy was SKY HIGH. We greeted customers with a big "HELLO!" made suggestions, explained ingredients, and we had so many regulars. People would come in and spend 20 dollars plus daily on their smoothies and we enjoyed speaking with every guest we had. Often times we were told how much people enjoyed coming just to get a smile and good energy. The past few times I've been to this one the energy is much like the energy at a funeral. There's no semblance of customer service. In Jacksonville we were trained (and also they hired naturally energetic people) to talk to customers as if they were our friends, and they became such. We were trained to always point out the extras and enhancers menu, and make genuine suggestions. I WORKED HERE and always forget to add my typical enhancers (which would greatly drive up the price of my smoothie so they're losing out). Yeah that doesn't happen here. You go up to the counter and they don't even greet you. You just order a smoothie pay and wait quietly while they silently sling ingredients. Honestly I would hate working here! It doesn't look fun at all! We had so much fun at SK in Jacksonville that the energy was natural! I dont know if they place needs some sage burning or prayers or what, but every time I leave I feel uncomfortable. Wish they had a drive thru so I could still get my smoothies and not have to walk through this black parade. ONE person has had any sort of conversation with me and that's just because I was wearing my SK shirt and he asked about it. I really want to call up the Jax managers and have them hold some training sessions down here because I won't be back until something is done. It's sad in there. read more

I have been coming to this location for almost 3 years. I would always get a Green Tea Tango with mango and love it here every time. I left the Tampa Bay Area almost 8 months ago and came back home to visit family. I stopped by to get a smoothie and I felt like I was a nuance to the blonde looking girl taking my order. She would roll her eyes and give me an attitude for God forbid making her do her job. She also didn't even blend my smoothie correctly, I had to drink/eat the entire smoothie with just chunks of mango. Had the worst smoothie king experience of my life just moments ago. Ordered my usual Strawberry Kiwi Breeze, walked out the door with it and ran through the Chick-fil-A drive through with my sister. We both tasted it and something was super off about it. Not sure if it was a bad kiwi or some old yogurt but it just had a super funky taste about it. I immediately came back in, the lady who took my order was super pleasant and was going to remake it for me. As she was about to the guy who made my smoothie came out and explained there's a "certain procedure" and that she could NOT remake my disgusting $6 smoothie I had just purchased and drank almost none of. I read another review similar to the one that I am about to post. I absolutely love Smoothie King! This specific location has the atmosphere of a funeral being host by Ben Stein. No one is rude or anything, it's just so damn weird. If the male manager isn't there and there is someone else in line be prepared to wait longer than normal for your smoothie. I have been coming to this location consistently for awhile now and have always had a pleasant experience until today . I'm writing this review because it applies to all three employees working at the time . I walked in and was greeted with not so friendly glares . Even after saying hello and asking how their day was I did not get a response . I told them I needed to a second to look at the menu as I wanted to try a smoothie I haven't tried before. Not one but two of the girls rolled their eyes and huffed as if I ( paying customer ) were interrupting the phone/computer/talk time . I ordered my smoothie and asked a few question about the add ons and got very vague short responses . I was scrolling through my phone and although the smoothie didn't take long the girls just sat it on the counter and walked away . Why ask for a name if you aren't going to call it out . The smoothies are made quickly and their ingredients are healthier than most smoothie places. I downloaded their app and the rewards stack up really fast. He made an effort to correct the banana and it was much better. My daughter said she tasted bananas this time instead of pure water. I still can't go over three stars though. The other guy helping to make the smoothies was as full of attitude as ever. I wanted to give this place three chances before I commented. My husband loves their peanut butter smoothies so I said I would give the place a chance. First attempt, the guy taking orders was annoyed because I asked questions about some of the items on the menu. I didn't order myself anything. Next try, I tried a strawberry, banana, chocolate smoothie. I paid $7 for water. It was awful. My daughter wanted a banana smoothie. It was also completely watered down. A smoothie for a friend with us was also watered down. $16 on three waters.... My husband decided he wanted a smoothie today on our way to run errands. I ran in ordered his, and ordered my daughter her banana smoothie. I explained to the guy behind the counter that the last one had no flavor and asked that they not use water or as much ice. I took the drinks out to the car. Husband happy, daughter not so much. Another water smoothie. I get that the place is suppose to be healthy. Kudos to them for that. I just think $7 for a water is a bit crazy, especially when it comes with attitude from the people working behind the counter.
