We visited Smorgasburg on a Sunday and really enjoyed our time there. It's easy to find and there are several garages nearby for parking. We parked in the Fort Lauderdale City Hall garage and it was actually free. The walk was really short and easy. They have a wide variety of vendors offering everything from tee shirts to lobster rolls. It was the perfect day for a daiquiri so we started off by grabbing a drink at the bar. The pina colada was excellent for sipping while we browsed the tents. After grabbing some Korean bbq, a lobster roll and sushi we were able to easily find a table to eat at. Most of them have attached umbrellas for some much needed shade. There is also open seating along the back wall for those really busy days. Our only complaint is the bathroom facilities. There are porta potties located behind the bus. Not ideal for a summer in South Florida but at least they had water in the hand washing station. We'll definitely be back to try some of the other vendors as I saw several more that looked interesting. read more

GO HUNGRY! There are alot of good options for everyone's dietary needs which is great! 1-Ladies do not wear heels, yes you want to look cute however, it's all mini rocks/ pebbles impossible to walk in cute heels. 2- strollers how annoying with the mini rocks / pebbles. If your stroller has big wheels no problem, some parents had to go put the stroller away. Good thing I have the Doona stroller where the wheels pop inward & I can use it as a carrier. Now the food, we bad picaña & fries for $19.99 from La Picaña Grill.....DELICIOUS! Cooked just right. Next we had a burger with fries from Boca Burger Miami. This burger was perfection, juicy, right amount of cheese & caramelized onions. If I wasn't so full I would've had 2 ! For $16.99 Next we had Mancove mojito from Bar-Quito. You cannot miss it because it's in the center an actual boat. It was so good we had 2 each. One courtesy of Leonardo because the first round they forgot to add the most important detail - the rum ! Now let's discuss parking. It was frustrating trying to find parking around noon on a Sunday! The parking lot & garage across the street full & closed off to the public until the Baptist mass is over around 12:45p. So traffic was backed up waiting till the lots emptied out. So arrive on a Sunday around 12:50p and you should be okay with parking. Do NOT park in the shopping plaza. Don't say I didn't warn you! We witnessed 3 cars being towed ! Overall a great time, music was good, chatted with a few people. Definitely a place to visit ! read more

I visited Smorgasburg on opening day, and it's exciting to see such a prestigious food market arrive in Fort Lauderdale. The Smorgasburg brand began in 2011 in Brooklyn and was famously dubbed "The Woodstock of eating" by The New York Times. The name is derived from the Swedish word smörgåsbord, meaning a wide variety of foods. It has grown into the largest weekly open-air food market in the U.S., showcasing hundreds of vendors across multiple cities including Los Angeles, Atlanta, and here in South Florida. I've previously visited the Wynwood location, which unfortunately struggled with limited parking and shade before eventually closing after three years to make way for new residential development. I was excited to explore this new location in Flagler Village to see if these issues had been addressed. Smorgasburg feels that this dog and family friendly neighborhood is a better fit for the market. Flagler Village itself has undergone a remarkable transformation. Once an industrial hub filled with warehouses, auto shops, and marine businesses supporting the growth of Ft. Lauderdale, it fell into decline in the late 20th century. Over the past two decades, however, it has been revitalized into a vibrant live/work/play district, now anchored by creative spaces like FAT Village and MASS District. Today, the neighborhood blends street art, breweries, and modern mixed-use developments, and Smorgasburg fits right into this evolving neighborhood. The new location is conveniently just a few blocks from the Brightline station. Admission is free, and it's open Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 8 p.m., making it ideal for a weekend outing. Parking was much easier than Wynwood. I was able to park in the lot owned by First Baptist Ft. Lauderdale across from the market for $5 per hour pay by app. Smorgasburg's mission is to help local chefs grow their audience and experiment creatively by incubating new businesses. Through Smorgasburg several South Florida favorites have gained a foothold in the hospitality market, including Ted's Burgers, Drinking Pig BBQ, Eleventh Street Pizza, and Ms. Cheezious. At the new location, more than three dozen vendors serve up an eclectic mix of globally inspired dishes. Familiar names like Kabuki Soba, Birrieria Tijuana, The Lazy Oyster, Blazed BBQ, Korn Korner, and Santo Dulce from Wynwood are joined by newcomers like Riddim & Bao, Seoul Hotteok with Korean comfort food, and El Nopalito Vegan Taqueria. There is also a bar that had a really long line. Prices were on the high side. For example a non alcoholic Pina Colada was $12. All of the vendors had the prices clearly displayed so you know exactly what you will pay before you order. There are also a handful of retail vendors, from booksellers like Steamy Lit to vintage shops like Grandpa's Closet and sports apparel from Golden Era Kits. There was also a Smorgasburg tent selling branded market merchandise. Seating is at umbrella-covered picnic tables and a multi tiered area which is unfortunately in full sun. For that reason many people opt to take their food to go but there is a number of parks in the area where you could comfortably enjoy a picnic. In addition to the Grand Opening this weekend Smorgasburg has a number of upcoming events. These include an Earth Fest, Dog palooza, and AAPI Mango Edition over the upcoming weekends. As expected the opening day was very crowded. The longest line appeared to be for Riddim and Bao Jamacain Plantain Baos. Overall, it's great to see Smorgasburg bring this level of culinary creativity and community energy to Fort Lauderdale. I love the variety of food offered although the shade issue has not gotten better. It will be very uncomfortable in a South Florida sauna summer. Still this a strong addition to this rapidly growing neighborhood and well worth a visit if you are adventurous and enjoy trying new and unique foods. read more

I went to Smorgasburg "Miami" on opening day and was excited since it's only a block away. To me, a 3 is average, and that's where this landed. Some positives and some negatives. They did an amazing job building hype because it was packed, almost too packed. I waited in a long line at the bar, which felt like a miss for a space that size. With 45+ vendors, there should be more than one. I did a loop and wanted the Korean truck, but the line was at least 50 people deep, so I passed. I ended up at Gran Shawarma and got a mixed chicken and beef shawarma with a side of babaganoush. I was so hot I took it to go. It wasn't my favorite. It was salty and the pita was thin and hard. I'd go back once things calm down to try some of the other spots. read more

Love it! Family friendly, dog friendly and I brought my own cooler, kicked it like karate!! I came on opening weekend and also the following. The vibe is great the portions are good expect to pay a little more for food trucks prices but reasonable. Definitely bring water and come early to grab a table. It's common to share tables with strangers it's part of the fun! Tons of different food vendors, beverages - alcoholic and non. They are here until July! Check it out! I had such a great time at the opening weekend of Smorgasburg in Fort Lauderdale, a great little food truck festival showcasing some really creative local restaurants and food vendors. All in all there were about 30-40 options which were enough to get nice and full, but I do wish there was a bit more. There were some really creative and viral options, some that have been on my list to try for a while. Some standouts were the fried chicken bao buns and the churro ice cream sundae. There was a nice little info & merch tent with some really cool T-shirt and bag designs. While there was a decent amount of seating, it was still a bit of a challenge to find a table at times. There was some great music, but also a bit too loud. Overall, I had a great time and I'll absolutely be back to try out more food spots that I missed the first time around! read more

I went opening day and it was a lovely experience!! The place was packed, parking was easy, and the DJ was playing a great mix of top hits from all the ages. There was quite a bit of seating, we found a table easily. The bar was a LONG wait....they definitely need more bars/lines. I got a coconut basil lemon mocktail and it was delicious. I didn't get to try the food, but next time I will! There were so many options to choose from. I'd also like to see some type of security presence, as a mom it got me a little worried (given how packed it was) that they seemingly had none? And the bathrooms are all port-a-potties that ran out of toilet paper around 4PM and the handwashing station wasn't working. As this grows, would like to see if they invest in nicer PPs and maybe just keep them a little better maintained. Will come again! read more

This was overall such an amazing experience. I attended an opening weekend so I expected to run into crowds but really you can tell that all the vendors were doing their best to put out food as fast as possible and everything was super good not one thing I was disappointed with. I've seen some other recent reviews about the live DJ in the music being too loud, it wasn't like uncomfortably loud where you can't talk but I feel like it was at a reasonable volume to cover the entire space of where the event takes place. read more

Communication. Parking charges 7.50 per hour. We parked, paid, went to enter and were told hours were incorrect and would not be open for at least half an hour... more than half an hour after stated, advertised hours. Hours here say 2:00pm to 10pm, website says noon to 6:00pm. So what is it? Organizers are a joke. Plenty more to do in Fort Lauderdale so don't waste your time and money on Smorgasberg. read more
