I have 10+ yrs working out in different settings and here are some suggestions I'd like to make to the management: Make an easy Access to the mats. I've never seen the gyms where you have to approach the front desk to request a mat. I waste my time every time I have to ask for it (personally, It doesn't make sense to me). Provide More gym accessories (free weights, bosu, sliders for the core, step boxes and etc. It won't cost much but it will create a better variety for the customers and improve overall impression If possible, create a separate area for stretching (that is challenging, I completely understand it) Other than that, I have a very positive impression of the location, price, equipment quality.

Each time, they either refused to process my cancellation or said they "took care of it" -- and then kept charging me anyway. At one point, they even changed my membership from $10 to $30 a month without my permission. I haven't set foot in this gym since 2023, and my bank (Wells Fargo) has records showing I've been trying to stop these payments. When I called to resolve it, the manager dodged responsibility and made excuses. I've since had to contact corporate, my bank, and the BBB to get help. Planet Fitness makes it ridiculously easy to sign up but nearly impossible to leave -- a classic gym trap. They thrive on confusion and delay. If you value transparency, customer service, or your money -- avoid this location at all costs.

When it comes to fitness, I'm game for just about anything. Just about. To preface, I'm disciplined…read morein the beat-the-heck-out-of-your-body arts, you know, pushups and situps and lifting and punching, alongside a little stretching here and there, for balance. As a general rule, I like to sweat. I'm of the midwestern German/Jewish/British bloodline so my veins are pretty heated, thus when I get moving, I'm a faucet, it's disgusting, honestly. If you're anywhere near my proximity when I'm dripping, stay away. I'm like a garden hose under thunderous pressure, hurling my droplets upon unsuspecting passers by. I should also preface this with the admission that I enjoyed an introduction to Pilates from a friend/associate/trainer who offered to show me the ropes, springs and stands of the art free of charge. I didn't take a class and although the personal training session wasn't leveraged on an agreement to review the venue, I can't claim this was a genuine appointment with the business. Like many of you, I was genuinely curious about Pilates. Years of television commercials offered virtually no clue into the underworld of this fascinating practice, and once I was there, in a facility equipped with the very best, I totally got it. Pilates is the yin in my aging, overburdened yang. I'm about to turn 40, about to hit that Over the Hill mark, and that means I hurt, mysteriously, in places that never hurt before. As we age, we realize that stretching and activating those muscle groups that we ignored for 40 years suddenly matters. Momentum Studio is an excessively clean, dynamic facility decked out with machines that are built to bend you sideways, upwards and out. The contraptions in this place, man, they're genius inventions of wood and coil, pulley and spoke, the kind of thing your nutty neighbor developed in his garage, and they work wonders. One hour of work in here will realign your spine and reset your clock to Zen. Next visit, I'm investigating Barre. Can't wait.

(Brian, Aline, Liz, Kelly, & Lourdes - every one awesome) They offer (& recommend) a new customer package of four private lessons. They will allow you to split that with a friend though, making it even MORE affordable. After that they have class packages and also a drop-in rate. Open studio available for those whose training is already more advanced. I've been looking for a studio or some place to go that is more supportive than where I've been taking physical therapy (which I believe is actually making my joint injury worse as they have a specific goal in mind and push, push, push to get to it in the prescribed amount of appointments), and I've found it! I have no fear that the work I do here will be comprehensive, challenging, but appropriate for me and safe. I'm looking forward to starting Pilates equipment and Barre classes!!

The biggest pattern isn't people saying the gyms are unusable -- it's people feeling the company charges "premium gym" prices while the experience no longer feels premium. A few themes come up over and over in local discussions: Facilities aging badly -- people mention torn equipment, dirty locker rooms, broken AC, dated interiors, and inconsistent upkeep at several locations. Reddit +1 Membership cancellation complaints -- this is probably the #1 reputation issue. A lot of Wichita-area members complain about difficulty cancelling, continued charges after cancellation attempts, or aggressive contract terms. Reddit +2 Pricing frustration -- many locals feel Genesis prices itself like a luxury athletic club, but only a few locations still match that standard. Reddit Corporate reputation -- locally, the Stevens family ownership gets criticized a lot in Wichita discussions, especially around acquisitions and business practices Very "corporate gym empire built by a comic-book villain who wears a polo instead of armor." Like if Lex Luthor opened a squat rack franchise "Potentially great... if you get the right location, right manager, and never need customer service."

They have a variety of machines, free weights, and cardio equipment in addition to nice amenities such as the wet sauna, indoor/outdoor pool, and hot tub. I noticed I wasn't going as much and so at the 1-year mark in August, I was going to cancel. Knowing the 1-month advance notice for cancellation, I called the club in July and was told I need to come in person. I was away for work and told them it wasn't feasible, the individual on the phone was courteous and said they could process the cancellation. I thought at the end of the phone call, the process was too easy, and they were very accommodating for my circumstance... Fast forward 2 months (today, 12 September) when I checked my credit card statement and see another charge for September. I call again, and now the manager said they have no record of the request and to call corporate. I call corporate and I'm getting asked who I spoke with, when did I speak with them, etc, etc. I don't know about you all, but usually when you get what you want...ie: cancelling my membership. I don't tend to write down the name of who was assisting. So corporate says they are defaulting to the 1 month advance notification and will have to charge again for next month with the membership now ending in November. As a service member, I'm a firm believer in following through with what you commit to. I hit my 1-year obligation and wanted to end amicably, but the company has other priorities ($$$) instead of customer service.
