Excellent place to work out with air conditioning and trainers of the highest caliber. Can use dead weights, machines, or do aerobic exercise on their treadmills cross trainers and stationary bikes. Awesome gym, atmosphere, staff and owners! The best part of all is that the facilities are immaculate and offer a wide array of training equipment to get your training done minus the crowds. The AC is nice and cold, plenty of parking and hours are very flexible for those with busy schedules. I joined snap fitness 6 months ago and I love it. There are some reviews on here that I think are unfair because they're not accurate. First off - the gym is definitely air conditioned. I don't know what that previous person is talking about. It's actually a little too cool at times for my taste but once you get working out it's fine. I prefer a smaller gym to the huge corporate fitness centers. But this place doesn't feel like a Mom and Pop either - they have a professional feel. I've actually been able to use other Snap locations while traveling for work (Vegas, Portland, Nor Cal). Members can use any gym. Most are a little bigger but this is one of the nicest one. I've been a member of so many gyms and I don't know what people think but the most of the big gyms are dirty and gross. This place is clean. It's local. I can walk. When I drive it's easy to park. It's not a meat market. Mostly family age people minding their own business and doing their workout. I feel comfortable here. I absolutely love this gym. I almost don't want to review it or tell anyone about it so that it stays the same and so quiet inside. My favorite thing about this gym is how empty it is most of the time. This is great place to go if you want to get in and out of the gym quickly, and workout In peace. It is less busy than, and smaller than, the other locations included with the membership, but has pretty much all the equipment you'd need to get in a good workout. Treadmills that incline to 15, stair masters, some bikes, free weights section, cables, squat racks, smith machine, lat pull down and a couple other machines (hamstring curl, seated leg press, etc). There's 2 separate pulleys that can be used to do a lot, rather than individual machines: like tricep push downs, low rows, etc. It always looks clean and well kept up. A few weeks back I remember them getting brand new treadmills put in during my workout. The owners seem to take a lot of pride in the place, which is appreciated. All the equipment and machines are in excellent condition. Location is awesome, super convenient, and extremely walkable. They have a water filter/ bottle filling station at the back of the gym, which is extremely helpful. Wifi is also provided, with membership, at this location. I had rejoined this place during covid when the YMCA was closed. Now I mainly workout at the South Pas, though have gone to both their San Marino facilities as well (which is more spacious). They maintain their cleanliness and for being a boutique gym, have all the basics you need. It's a little hard to do a deadlift if there are a few others in that space, but otherwise, it's been great - safe, secure, convenient in and out, nicely air-conditioned, wipes available, bathroom and changing room available, all the staff members are professional and courteous including Jackie and Damian. I enjoy this gym. It's warm and inviting. I've had four training sessions with Ava, and she is awesome. You need to be a member before you can sign up for training, but it's worth it. I've learned a lot about my body, and what it can do. It's inspired me to work towards my goals, and if I slip up, I can come back and play the long game. It's kind of small, so sometimes I don't get the "floor time" I might want. I like the machines, and it's not hard to do a circuit rotation, if you want. They don't have a shower, but they do have a changing room and bathroom. You can purchase water for a dollar there, if you forget your own water. There are TV's on if you need that distraction. It's a chain, so know that if you travel, you can use your keycard at any Snap Fitness in the country, or world, so that is a nice perk, if you are so inclined. What a difference a year makes! Initially, my first impression of this business hasn't been favorable. But, I have been working out everyday, 7 days a week, and I have seen a remarkable improvement. When the pandemic hit and they did their best to provide service to their members, it was good to observe the exceptional work the owner and staff did to stay open. I joined this gym about 3 weeks ago and so far it's exactly what I was looking for. First of all I live within walking distance, so that was my primary reason for joining. I love taking workout classes, but the combination of traffic time driving each direction plus the class time makes it hard for me to get to classes as often as I'd like. This place has most of the basic equipment I'm looking for, including treadmill, stair climber, TRX, floor mats, kettle bells, medicine balls, and some Pilates and yoga accessories as well. So far it's never been crowded when I've come to work out. I prefer the smaller space with a few of each type of equipment rather than a sprawling gym like LA Fitness with tons of machine and tons of people. I can really just come in here and get my workout done. I'd love to see a rower added, but other than that, a great place to work out! read more

I joined SNAP a week ago. I just retired and was finally ready to exercise again. I met with a trainer on September 1, 2017. I told him upfront that I have arthritis in both knees and just had cortisone shots that Monday. I explained that my goal was to tone my arms and legs and get back on the treadmill. The trainer wanted me to do all sorts of exercises that needed me to get on my knees! I said no to many of his ideas. I learned what exercises to do for myself. Checked out Snap Fitness after moving into the area. It is a VERY small gym. The best way to think about it is a glorified hotel gym. If there are more than 3 people exercising it feels awkward and crowded. It was especially uncomfortable in the free weights area if two people were trying to use neighboring equipment. The equipment is all Cybex - so if Cybex doesn't make it they don't have it. Thus, there are no recumbent bikes and there are no elliptical trainers either. The upright bikes have different programs than normal exercise bikes as well. Instead of varying resistance it tells you to just pedal faster at certain intervals - feeling very cheap. The price however is not cheap at about $40 a month. The card access and decent hours are a plus. But I definitely think this was designed more as a personal trainer space than as a standard workout gym. Certain amenities that you would expect when paying a decent membership fee are also lacking. There are no towels, there is barely a bathroom and no changing room. There is also no guarantee that staff is going to be on site at all times that the gym is open - which gives it a very strange vibe. It's kind of creepy to be the only person working out with no one else around. The key card locked entrance does give you some feeling of security. There are panic buttons and an emergency lanyard that you can carry with you during your workout if there are any major problems. They offer a free week trial period which is a great way to check out the gym. It wasn't for me so I kept looking but there is no reason that others wouldn't appreciate the cleanliness and ease of access that Snap provides. read more

Hmm so far after my first time there I think this place is ok. Not great, not terrible but just okay. I was giving it a whirl using my 30 day not free trial (you do pay $8.95 so it's really not free) since it's close to my house and it didn't sound so bad for that price. There's street parking, the underground parking is a bit confusing because there's spaces mostly designated for the hospital or metro. But there's plenty of spaces on the street- usually for 3 hour increments. When you walk in for the first time, it's a bit awkward. There is no front desk or someone there to greet you to give you the heads up on where to go if you've never been there before. I saw 2 dudes chilling towards the back by computers so I went up to them and asked where the bathroom was since I had never been here before. One guy looked at me like I had horns growing out of my head, the other guy was cool and showed me where it was. Not exactly the most friendly welcome. I saw another woman while I was working out who also had the same confusing experience when she walked in- she came in and looked around like where do I go? She also had to go look for the guys by the computer. Like others said, they just have one unisex bathroom, no showers, no lockers (cubby holes in the front area). Apparently they don't believe in fans or air conditioning (luckily it wasn't terribly hot yet but I know how it gets in Pasadena in the summer so that would suck). It's a small gym- a bunch of cardio equipment in the front to the left as you walk in, in the back right are weights and some machines and there are kettle bells and a small area to do abs or whatever to the left. Not a lot of room, luckily on the plus side there aren't that many people in there either. Clearly if you want to pay for a VERY minimal gym this is your place. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect but not sure if this is my kind of gym. It made me realize that I do want to pay more and go to a gym that has lockers, air conditioning and towels. I guess I'll keep coming back during my 30 day trial since I paid for it, but not sure I'd continue to pursue a membership here after! read more

Snappity dappity! So nice being at a quiet gym where you feel you can do exercises, stretches and such you wouldn't be caught dead doing at LA or 24 hour fitness. They have all the straps and other attachments you don't see or have gone missing at the bigger gyms. Only downside is there's one unisex bathroom and no shower. Location is cool. 5 underground parking spots or street. Good luck on Thursday with the street market. Will be hard going back to a regular gym after this. :-/ Oh and you get your own card key to get in even if it's empty hehe. That is up till 11p. read more

Ok I have been here over three months. I came from LA Fitness. Even though LA Fitness had all the great equipment what good does it do when you can't use it unless you go an times of the day no one can! So this is my take and why I give it three stars overall. 1. 5 stars for crowdedness. It is a small gym. But it doesn't really get too crowded and you might have to wait bit during peak times (meaning one person in front of you) for the weights. 2. 4 stars for the treadmills and cardios 3. 4 stars for chin ups / pulls etc station 4. 4 stars for free weights 5. 2 stars for chest. You have to either resort to free weights or you have to make due with the equipment they have to do bench press / incline / decline. 6. 1 star for backs. No back rowing machin3. Minimal other back machines. 7. 3 star for shoulders (similar to chest you have to just be creative but you can do all the exercises you need) 8. 5 star for legs 9. 4 star for abs 10. 3 star for bathroom / changing rooms That's my take. I bought a year pass as it is much cheaper. I am stuck for a year but the cons outweigh driving to LA Fitness and waiting (I live in walking distance) so that is very easy for me. read more

I've had the membership for at least 6 months and have not used it enough. This week I have made it there 2 times and keep asking myself why I do not walk over there and get my work out in more often, should be daily. The space is small, but they have everything you need to get a well balanced work out in to your day. 3 Treadmills 3 Eliptical Machines 5 or 6 Stationary Bikes Targeted Weight Machines and Free Weights Mirrors Floor/Exercise Mats Honor Program - Refreshments Close to the Gold LIne Close to Heirlloom Close to Busters Close to The Parlor Pizzeria I paid for 6 month in advance when I joined the gym. I am paid up until January 1st 2009. The credit card I used to pay for the membership expiried on 11/30/08. 1 week before the card expiried I received a call and from Snap and they asked me for a new card or a new expiriation date. I asked, "well i believe my membership is paid for until the end of December 2008." The girl on the phone @ Snap said, "yes, you are paid up, but we like to have your current card information on file." I thanked her, but told her that I would provide the information when I made the decision if I was planning to continue my membership. My point? they are a bit pushy about the money factor. Truth is, what small business owner isn't? It's a great place to get in and out and check your daily workout off the "must do" list. read more

Found a deal on group-on for 1 month for $30. Thought I give this place a try since I'm here in the area for a few weeks. This is a self-run gym. Open 24/7 and requires you to have a gym key. There isn't 24/7 supervision. This means signing up for gym membership may be tricky because you can only register only during certain times. Once you get over this hump and fully settle in, then it becomes very easy to work out. Very low consensus which means you are not fighting for the machines/weights. Must bring your own water bottle since there is no running fountain. You'll be really thirsty without it. You can pay for bottle waters or get one there at the gym. I believe it's on an honor system. Not quite sure how this works. There are a few downfalls. They don't have a wide variety of gym equipment. The gym is really small compared to LA fitness or 24 hr and the price is equivalent to LA fitness or 24hr. read more

This location is super close to where I live and it's very nice and clean. When I first checked out the inside of the gym (because you need a key card to unlock the door), I met the owner, Allen, and he was incredibly helpful and welcoming. He signed me up and it was such an easy and quick process. Kim, the manager, was also great at responding to my questions via e-mail. They have a bathroom located in the back, as well as water. There are also waters and other snacks for sale. There are storage spaces for your belongings. You would have to bring your own towel, but they provide wipes so you can wipe down the equipment after use. The hours are also pretty good, 6 am- 11pm. For me, they work perfectly. They seem to really care for the customers and do their best to provide the best kind of facility for its size and capacity. I love the smaller space and over crowding does not seem to be an issue. Just had a really bad experience here. I'm shopping for a new gym after my last contract expired. Snap, like many gyms, offers a free 7 day trial on the website. I read the rules, signed up, got my confirmation email, read that. Got a call from the gym, arranged a time to come in and start my 7 days. Then I came in. And was shocked when they wouldn't let me try the gym on that trial. Instead, they offered me a "month to month with the first month free." But that "free" first month involved nearly $80 of payments. It's a total shakedown with this franchise. They don't follow corporate policy, nor do they tell people about this until you get there. Be warned. Also the gym is quite small, and has very little equipment. A lot of basic machines you might want for your workout, they don't have. And they're significantly more expensive than most of the fitness chains out there. More money, less equipment, and very shady business practices. I have a feeling most of the positive reviews are fake, or from folks who don't know better. read more

I love the gym and I recently started working with a trainer, Basem. He is such a great trainer and I am already seeing real results after just 3 weeks. I have always been completely lost in a gym and I have considered a trainer in the past but I've never connected with one. Basem is low key which I love. Nothing is more annoying to me that someone yelling at me or giving me bumper sticker style pep talks. Basem is intuitive, listened to my goals and he is creating a training plan to get me there. I am super lazy and I needed to be accountable to someone to make myself do it, and it's working. It is a financial investment however three weeks in I am seeing great returns and I feel it may be the best money I've spent in a long time. I went into this place because there was a posted one week free trial offer. I was asked to produced my license which had my northern California address on it and explained my mother was in hospice and that I was down taking care of her. The manager, Akanimo Eyo, informed me that i needed something showing my mothers address which I returned with. I was then informed upon returning that the bill showing her address was not sufficient and that I needed to have a lease agreement to prove my residence. This is a lovely place. I am old and I have never been to a gym in my life. I hired Damian as my trainer and he was utterly wonderful. I just wish I could go on having him as my trainer for the rest of my life! Snap Fitness is definitely an intimate gym setting. I enjoy the smaller more personal space as it allows me to concentrate on my while I'm working out and not feel like I'm at some sweaty nightclub for body builders. Some larger gyms can feel intimidating or the staff can be standoffish, but I found that the staff here is very personable and very willing to help if you have questions about how to use a machine. Only used this a couple of times as I was just visiting from Toronto, but it was a decent gym. It had all the equipment you typically look for including cardio (ellipticals and treadmills), free weights, and cable machines. Most of the cardio machines had a TV in front of them (shared) and remotes were available if you wanted to change the channel. Even though I was there early in the morning on a weekend (around 6AM), there were around 5 people. Even with so few people, there didn't seem to be enough open space to stretch or do large movement exercises comfortably. Like most Snap Fitness's, I don't believe this one has showers but there are bathrooms/change rooms. There's an underground parking garage but lots of signs saying that the spots are reserved for a health clinic. I was going early enough that there was lots of street parking, but check the signs for when you have to start paying. The next door cafe and other shopping within walking distance are bonuses. And the train crossing is cool, too! read more

an honest run-down on snap... pros: - fairly well-equipped - pretty clean, especially compared to the bigger corporate chains - if you're lucky, empty other than YOU (a rare and lovely thing) - relatively cheap, depending upon what contract you're talked into - not meat markety, but also not particularly welcoming (see below) cons: - not open 24 as with other snap locations - no group classes - not the greatest book keeping (misc billing issues) - no drinking fountain (wtf? it's a gym!) - spammy emails - CLAUSTROPHOBIC...and that's the biggest reason it didn't work for me it's a small space, clearly. more than about 5 people in there at once and it starts to feel like a 3/4-full elevator - not epic but a little uncomfy. however, it's EVEN SMALLER when the trainers are in there with their trainees taking up 80% of the floor space and you have to step over and around people and feel as though you're intruding just to get to a treadmill. it's as though you're not really meant to be there if you're not also paying for their training services. oh no no no, as a "member", it should not be that way - but it's absolutely that way. sure, these were peak times, but maybe that's when you _shouldn't_ have personal training taking up the lot of your facility... it's just unwelcoming, unprofessional, and had me anxiously awaiting the end of my year contract. read more
