I was in Austin Texas on business, when I came across the Politics store on 2nd St. It looked "young" and interesting. Something different from what you find in Washington D.C. Metro area. I wanted to purchased something original and authentic to Austin or TX for my fifteen yr. old son. (which most parents might agree, is a hard shop in the first place without a list from them in their writing) The clerk was most helpful, but at the same time deceiving. They must work on commission. He showed me several pieces in the the store and I settled on two T-shirts. What he failed to tell me was that the sale was final. I asked if they were returnable or exchangeable and he said yes, no problem. So I purchased the items. He didn't mention the caveat. You see 1) They have a NO REFUND policy. Only exchanges. 2) You need exchange in person or 3) you have to pay to ship the merchandise back to them. PLUS 4) YOU pay for the shipping of the new items you choose UNLESS you purchase at lease $200.00 or more with them. In my cade, my purchase was $81. and some change. So it is going to cost me shipping TO them, my exchange plus shipping TO me of the new items. This is outlandish! That is literally holing my money hostage. I will never buy from this store again! I will also let anyone and everyone know about this policy they have of keeping your money once they have it. This store is only out for your money, not out to grow clients. read more

Ordered shoes in my regular size. Showed up too big. Went to return, no refunds only store credit. Lost 13 dollars to "handling fee" have to wait for shoes to be returned for my store credit and I don't even like the shoes. So, I have to wait a week for the shoes to get my store credit, lost 13 dollars on the return; and am stuck with a shoe I don't even like and they don't even have in stock to replace it. This place has horrible ego driven customer service. I ordered some shoes off the website and they sent FAKES. They are now officially verified fake by the local adidas rep here in Houston. The weight is wrong the shoe doesn't light up under flash photography and the sole bends WAY to easily. Compared them to authentic ones and these are poor fakes at best. BE CAREFUL dealing with this company. They say there verified adidas dealers but adidas has no idea this company is sending out some fakes to make extra off unsuspecting consumers. The management will write a bunch of lies after this review but don't listen to them they are ego driven maniacs that won't help good customers with legitimate issues. read more

I would like to start of by saying I am not a "sneaker person" so that's why I never went in this store before, but now I will never go anywhere else. I went into the Baton Rouge store today because I saw the display for the new Jurassic Park Reebok's and I knew my fiancé had to have them. He's a big dinosaur nerd so I knew he would love them. Spoiler alert: I was right lol! The guys working there were so nice and down to earth. I was immediately asked if I needed help and after I secured the Dino shoes I asked the guy helping me if he could recommend some comfortable shoes (I'm a vet tech and I am on my feet ALL DAY) that were also cute and he was immediately like "I got you!" He explained why he liked the ones he picked and we talked about why others weren't the best and we picked out an awesome pair that are literally the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. We had to exchange the Dino shoes for a different size and the guys talked to us again about different shoes and were just really nice. It's such a cool store with a really unique selection! I'm so surprised that the reviews are kinda low but it looks like a lot of the issues were online, so go to the Baton Rouge store because they are awesome! read more

Do not order from this fraud sneaker store. They take orders online and a week later after the shoe is no where to be found for retail price they cancel the order. I called while I waited for my package because I was never sent a tracking #. They told me to call back in 4 days. On the 4th day before I could call they emailed me saying the order has been canceled. Now the rare hard to get shoe is no longer available anywhere other then resellers. My issue is if you wasnt gonna guarentee me my product then why take my money I had opportunities after i purchased the shoe to get them else where but turned it down thinking I had a pair coming from sneaker politics. This establishment is not a good representation for the name sneaker politics. Came in to buy some shoes and was quickly asked to leave just because I choose to take my time on my purchasing decision. This store has over priced Nike apparel where you can go to a local footlocker and get the same items for cheaper. They only give limited sneakers to there friends so if you enter the raffle for some rare shoes you'd most likely are not going to get a call back. The brands they carry are good. The selection is not. Maybe if you camped over there you'd see a nice selection. Which brings me to my point of why I no longer shop there - routinely 7-10 dudes hanging around in the afternoon (the only positive of which is they usually smell of high quality marijuana; yea I said positive). You're not getting anything special here unless you part of Fletcher's lil clique (know a rapper by chance?) and what's on the racks is very tame. Same things every time besides a few new things - hope your size is left! Vivo's (I believe) in Cortana is a better store, as is City GEAR in Mall of LA. Will have to try Private Stock to compare some day. Stick to online shopping instead of politics. The name is very fitting. Getting exclusives there is a very political thing. I ordered the Kendrick Cortez Kenny collabs for my wife as a gift since she is a pretty serious sneaker head. They've just arrived today and they're not the sized I ordered. The shipping label is addressed to my house in Washington and the receipt is addressed to someone in California. This wouldn't be an issue but I've read the "receipt" and it said the limited edition items cannot be returned for a refund or exchanged. They can only be returned for store credit, not to mention there isn't a return label which means returning will have to be out of pocket for me. All in all this has turned in to a huge disappointment considering I just got back from my 12 month deployment and want to surprise my wife with something she likes. I reached out via email to the customer service but after reading the other reviews here I think I should have come to yelp before taking a chance with someone other than Nike.com who sold out in 6 minutes. I recently ordered a pair of shoes from Sneaker Politics (SP) that turned out to be too small. I contacted SP to ask about additional sizes, and there were none in stock that were half a size larger. I was told that I had to personally pay for shipping to return them, and that upon receipt of the shoes, a refund would be issued. I mailed the shoes back to SP and have been struggling to receive my refund ever since. During this time, I have contacted Sneaker Politics regarding this issue a dozen times, and I have been told that my refund was coming, that no refunds would be given, that I would be mailed store credit, that the person responsible was out sick, that someone would call me, and non of the above has happened. They received the shoes, have proof of receipt, and yet refuse to refund my money. At this point, I am calling daily to find anyone who will handle my claim. Eventually, a manager emailed me and stated that my store credit had been issued, sans the amount I had to pay in tax, but that I was simply not going to get my money back. As you might guess, I do not wish to do business with Sneaker Politics in the future. I don't want their shoes, or their store credit, or excuses.
