I have been buying here for many years but it's time to find a different nursery. Came in during…read morethe week and the staff to guest ratio was at least 5 staff to each customer...I wanted a tree that was too heavy for me to lift at roughly 70 pounds and literally none of the staff walking around offered to help. When I asked for help locating the tree, I was pointed to the other side of the nursery, but no thought to if I might either need help locating the trees or help lifting the container.

Such a cool little hidden gem in Middletown! I didn't even know this place existed…read more I don't really know what to call Surreybrooke but it is a beautiful manor with grounds, a garden center, and venue area. The manor is marked as private even though it is visible from other parts of the property. You can definitely see the growth of the plants over the decades of time but this is something so unusual to see in this area and that in itself is truly spectacular. Take 20 minutes to stroll through this place, you may find that you end up staying a bit longer.

Stradler Nurseries came to plant trees on the border between my HOA (Armistead Park) and the HOA next door (Fairfax Landing). As I walked home from dropping my kids off at school at about 9:30am yesterday, I saw a Stradler employee with his coworker picking fruit off my tree and pocketing them IN BROAD DAYLIGHT! Keep in mind that I have a sign saying not to pick because it is stealing. As I approached, they quickly walked away so I could not talk to them, but one of the employees came back the next day with his boss so I confronted him then. After confirming they work for Stradler Nurseries, the employee suddenly said he couldn't speak English. Finally, the employee admitted he was at my house but he was "just looking at the fruit" but not stealing them. The boss repremanded his employee but took no other action. But then why did he gave giant orange fruit in his hands as he walked away?? I'm very disappointed in this company.

They have a large selection of japanese maple trees, more than I have seen anywhere else. They also have a lot of plants from proven winners brand, especially the hydrangeas. It is a big place with a lot of planters and garden fountains and such. They also have potting soil and 5 colors of mulch available. Local honey is available in 16oz glass bottle for $12.99. Staff have been knowledgeable and helpful.
