Awesome store for anything you'd need for plants. Parking can get tight when it's busy, but they had someone directing traffic to help move things along. This is huge as the intersection right outside can get super busy and cramped. We bought a nice plant here, and after a few months, it's still doing great. I find that the selection of hanging baskets is the best at this location.. they colors and combinations that put together are beautiful and they have some unique baskets. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. For a small nursery they have a good selection. Their prices are a little high, but they are convenient. A big disappointment with when I bought some topsoil. The brand was "Mr. Garden" but it had a lot of mulch. Wood chips should not be in topsoil. I absolutely love this place, it's almost become my home away from home. I live in an apartment so I don't have a big yard but I do have a balcony and tons of indoor space for plants and honestly, plants change my mood and clean the air!!! I have attended their workshops and they are super fun though I always wish they included wine and cheese...but then I remember we are usually playing in dirt! The staff, especially Emma, always has a smile on their face and are super helpful. The best part, if you give them your email address you get 10% off everything you buy...hello?!?!?!? Nice selection of both indoor and outdoor plants and trees with pretty good prices. All of the plants look super health and well cared for. What differentiates this place is the knowledge the staff are willing to share with you to make sure you are a successful plant-owner. I have an appalling record with houseplants and can generally kill them within a week or two of purchase. The staff here were able to give me advice not only on how to pick the best plants for the location I wanted to put them in, but also the low-down on how to keep them healthy. A month after purchasing a fresh batch (of victims per my husband) of plants for my home I am happy to report that everything looks as happy and healthy as the day I purchased them! read more

Good Earth Garden Market is a wonderful neighborhood garden store! They have a pretty good selection of indoor and outdoor plants for being a smaller sized shop. And everything is super healthy! They also have a membership plan in where you can get discounts and such which is always an added bonus! The employees are wonderful. Super friendly and helpful. First of all, they have a very kind staff who would help you with selecting a custom landscape for your property. We purchased several of their plants in on September 29, 2022 at a 25% discount. They controlled the scheduling of the installation which ended up to be early December. The following year in May, it appeared that two of 11 plants died. At the time of the purchase, we were informed that the plants had a three year warranty at the time. When we returned for a warranty claim in May, we were instructed to speak with David who is the co-owner. To our surprise, he express that the warranty does not apply to any discounted plants. He stated that I should check my receipt and more specifically the website (on warranties for plants discounted at 25%). I checked my receipt and it stated '25%-50% SALES ITEMS VARY...SEE WEBSITE'. On their website it stated 'Sale Plant Guarantee All trees & shrubs purchased on sale are guaranteed for the remainder of the calendar year.' And being on a website that information can change from day-to-day. The receipt should clearly state the warranty for discounted plants. Since Good Earth install them for me in December, I had very little chance of claiming any warranty, if they were already dead at the time or died inside the 3 week holiday month. David offered to discount replacement plants at a 25% discount and another 'end of the year warranty'. Why would I do that since the delay installation provided an unreasonable amount of time to determine if the plants were even alive during the winter. I rather they just credit me for the dead plants OR replace them at their cost. I got neither since I am outside the warranty period. Safe to say I am not a happy customer. read more

You'd think because this is an independent garden center and it is located in Potomac, Maryland that their prices would be padded ever so slightly. Not the case. I was happy to see a huge selection of 4.5" pretty and colorful annuals for just $2.49! I love the layout of the garden center. They have perennials and annuals arranged by 'Shade Loving' and 'Sun Loving'. The shrubs and trees are all grouped together in one place. The flowers are healthy and not stacked on industrial shelves with wilted flowers begging for water and sunshine (like at the big chain stores). The staff are friendly and helpful. I asked for advice on deer resistant annuals and was given many options for planting this season. Salvia, purple petunias and marigolds are just a few. This place makes you want to be a better gardener. read more

This is a fabulous nursery! Gorgeous, healthy plants, and loads of them. With everything from herbs to trees and oodles in between, this is my go-to spot for plants. I find the customer service to be impeccable--they clearly know their stuff and make excellent, thoughtful recommendations based on practical questions and obvious experience. They offered free delivery, but I wanted it that day so I came back after they disassembled and cleaned it and they helped me load it into my car. We found Good Earth shortly after moving to the area and found the staff to be knowledgeable and professional, although a little rushed at times. The selection is great, and I really appreciate their digital newsletter alerting me to different in-season items, workshops, and planting timelines. Based on our experience in the store, we scheduled an appointment with their landscape division to begin designing hardscape and landscape projects to restore and grow our new property. Our initial visit with Matt cemented our decision to work with Good Earth. In contrast to his competitors at Hughes Landscaping, Matt offered guidance without coming across as condescending or dismissive and demonstrated extensive knowledge in a manner that made me feel more like I was working with a partner than hiring a consultant. I would have given 5 stars for the place. But customer service needs some work here. Good place, they have a lot of variety for outdoor and indoor plants. Staff aren't as friendly as I see in other nurseries. There were at least 5-6 staff walking around looking busy and when asked about plants or price none of them seem interested and engaged. Except for an elderly looking guy who was very knowledgeable and also engaged with me and answered all my questions. Only because of him I bought two plants. read more

Just yesterday I needed major pruning on a very overgrown magnolia. With the expertise of Bryan to guide the cutting and a brilliant super human cutter, Elmer , the work was completed quickly. He was like Tarzan high in the tree, catching lobbed off branches and precisely shaping the profile of the tree. Elmer and his assistant, Nilson did a great job of clean up as well. All leaves and twigs were removed from under and on the bushes and patio bricks and all was perfectly blown clean. I highly recommend them. read more

Very good shopping experience today. The staff was helpful the prices were low and they took my bag of soil to the car. Everyone was pleasant the cashier was super helpful, she also was able to help me woth my choice of soil and able to get help with taking things to the car. Its like a mom and pop operation. The area to shop is very spacious and the layout is great. They even offer coffe and will install plants for you and that is a plus. They also have a nice selection of pots. Love, love, love, this market after our awesome experience there today. As someone who has been out less than a dozen times since March I was so grateful to feel so safe while shopping there. All employees were wearing masks (correctly) and there was plenty of signs and room to browse and stay socially distanced outside. The kind woman helping me even offered me a cart and wiped it down completely before giving it to me. All the flowers and bushes were clearly marked with names, ideal growing conditions, and prices. I bought beautiful flowers and 2 bushes that were on sale and super reasonably priced. We will be back again and loved shopping here! Highly recommend! read more

I had a disappointing experience with the landscaping division of Good Earth. Their work, for the most part, was OK. They came at the promised time and cleaned up after themselves (which some landscapers don't do well). However, their prices struck me as being high. And when you pay that much, I expect them to back up their work. They quietly left without giving me any instructions on how to care for the new planting they did. When the plantings didn't take and I followed up with them to fulfill the written guarantee that was part of the contract, I was told they wouldn't address the dead plants because I got a discounted price on the installation. There are too many other landscaping companies in this area. I won't be using Good Earth again. That's too bad since the staff at the retail garden store locations are knowledgeable, helpful, and nice. read more

This is the best nursery in the area. I've spent hours and hundreds at various ones in MD/VA and this one has the best staff, selection and price by far. Emma sat on the phone with me for 20 minutes as I abstractly told her what I was looking for and then kindly helped me design a great urban/deck landscape that gave me privacy with plants and pots I loved. I wanted two more pots to match one I saw there and they volunteered to order it. The service is fantastic - I will keep going back! read more
