This is supposed to be FULL highlights and lowlights. Sloppiest, most lazy job ever. Barely any of either.
    Victoria L.

Whomever came up with the saying "hell has no fury like a woman scorned" knew what they were talking about. I decided to go to Snip Salon after my last hair dresser really messed up my blonde coloring and highlights. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing to me, was getting the highlights right. I picked Snip Salon based on reviews (probably by friends and family) on the Cave Creek Infamous Bulletin Board on Facebook. Here was my experience: 1) Called the salon to book appointment. Got message machine. No one called me back for more than two days 2) Called again to try to book appointment. Someone picked up and told me that they don't really have a front desk person, so this is why no one called me back. Made an appointment for a Saturday with Heather. 3) Called back again and spoke to the owner Kenny. Told him that I wanted to be sure that I had someone who really knew how to color blondes because I needed a four-month long disaster color corrected. He assured me that all of their stylists had at least 10 years experience and Heather would be really good with Blonde. 4) Got schedule for a job interview the Thursday before my appointment. So called again and asked if they had anyone who could help me pretty please, as I really wanted my hair to look nice for my job interview. Got booked with Julie. 5) Arrived for my 4:15pm appointment on Tuesday. A young girl was behind the front desk. She did not look up at me, nor welcome me, nor greet me. This is my first experience at the salon. Remember, it takes 7 seconds to make a first impression and SEVEN in person meetings to make up for a first impression. A male was taking care of someone's hair. I presume it was the owner. He did not look up, greet me or welcome me. Several other people were doing hair or milling about. 6) 4:34pm. I have still not been greeted or welcomed by anyone. A woman finishes someones hair. She goes about her business, cleans her station, talks a few moments with her co-worker and then finally wanders over to say hello. 7) I sit down and explain that I have long blonde hair with some grey roots coming in, that I had a bad color job done previously, that it was super important to me to get the color right. Requested blonde highlights, looking as natural as possible for my ash blonde base, with a little bit of extra highlighting around my face. She showed me a photo of a girl with super ash blonde and very chunky lowlights. I said no, I wanted lots of smaller, even slices of highlights and lowlights that would match my base, so that when my hair grew back in, it would look most natural. I also requested and PAID for FULL HIGHLIGHTS AND LOWLIGHTS. Not partial. 8) What I received was, overly blond hair, with highlights, lowlights not close to the roots. Chunky lowlights, the color of caramel, not ash. Two inches plus of extra highlights around face - looking washed out, not natural or subtle. And by far the most sloppy, lazy full highlights I've ever seen. There are gaps everywhere, hardly any highlights or lowlights and well, I might as well have just done partial, because that's what it looks like. 9) After spending $200, I have hair color that looks like it was done by a beginner at beauty school or amateur at best. I was very communicative about what I wanted and needed and to say I am disappointed is an understatement. Do your research. Save your money. Go somewhere else. It is not worth the money.

    My new look!

Got my nails done next door and came across thus little salon. Decided to make an appointment. They do appointments on line via Vagaro. I met with my hair dresser Amber. I wanted an entire new look. Gave her some ideas via Pinterest. I told her that it was in her hands. She gave me a nice hair shampoo with scalp massage. She took her time cutting my hair as well as styling it. As she was styling, she went over how to care and style my hair at home. She showed me options how change up my look. I love my new hair!

Heather at Snip Salon did an excellent job washing and styling my hair. It was my first time in the salon.

Lisa, Lisa, Lisa!…read more Y'all, if you're looking for an amazing stylist, look no further. I'm someone who has done a lot to my hair over the years. I previously owned a modeling agency, and we were constantly changing hair styles and working with some of the best stylists in the world. After moving to the Sedona area, I had three disappointing experiences in a row--honestly, some of the worst hair I've ever had. I finally decided to make the trip to Scottsdale, where I knew I could find someone who truly cared about their craft. After doing some research, I chose this salon and booked with Lisa. In just one appointment, she completely understood what I wanted and delivered it flawlessly. With over 20 years of experience, she made what seemed impossible look effortless. She not only got me back to where I wanted to be--she exceeded my expectations. What I appreciated most was that she listened. Really listened. Then she combined that understanding with incredible skill and precision. On top of that, she's an absolute delight to spend time with. If you've been struggling to find a stylist you trust, I know how stressful that can be. Great hair makes such a difference, and we all deserve exceptional service and results. Run, don't walk, and book with Lisa. You'll be so glad you did! xoxo

I got the head spa service and treatment and it was incredibly relaxing. I will absolutely be coming back to see her. Update: I was initially put off by them not having a way to reach anyone in the salon and the concierge number was no help. HOWEVER, when I emailed about my concerns I received a quick reply. I have a weird "shelf" thing that my hair does and Amanda let me come back to get it "fixed". She genuinely wanted me to love my hair and after the fix I absolutely do! Not only is my shelf gone but my curls seem to have come back from the dead. Will definitely go back to see Amanda again!

I needed my hair to be long enough I could put it up and I wanted framing bangs. I was looking to get a wolf cut style but don't tend to style at home enough for that kind of maintenance. She took all of my ideas and blew it out of the water. I super appreciated her kindness information on how to style easily and gave me the haircut I wanted from a description alone! The energy of the shop itself has a beautiful layout and getting my hair washed was in a lovely darker room and she was super considerate of my hair coloring while washing. I'm no hair expert nor do I go to salons often but when I do I'll be coming back to Samantha!

It felt like he wasn't paying attention to what I wanted and just did whatever he wanted with my hair. I paid $165 for a haircut that I am extremely unhappy with and that will take a very long time to grow out and fix. After being a loyal client for so many years, this was really disappointing and upsetting. I even felt like because I hadn't gone in for a few years, there was some resentment or lack of care shown during the appointment. I wanted a balayage with a shadow root the girl says no highlights are cheaper and better less maintenance . I said okay whatever you recommend. She does it I get a curly cut where that came out good. Then I leave mind you I'm there all day from 1130 am till 530 I don't see the orange in my hair and streaks like if I'm 12 years old. I go back the next day ask to fix it with toner and to please shadow root the top I don't lol streaks on top of it I have curly hair and the more it gets died the more it will fall out. Well Tanya tells me she too busy and will have someone else wash out my hair. That someone else was very unexperienced left chemicals in my scalp I had to pull over to the side of the road to wash it off. I left wet because she didn't even have moose or product in my hair only put oil. The diffuser fell on my head the owner dominque Watkins mouth dropped I then got upset and left. Again pulled over to wash out my hair and run home to wash it out three times. My hair line is messed up as well and unfortunately need Vaseline to take product off. I will never go back hete again I can't even fix it and dye my hair again for a while without causing damage and it's going to fall out. Train better hairstylist and dont over charge stating you can do curly hair when it's a lie. I'm the inconvenience because you are overbooked ? Don't be greedy owners and learn to train your staff
