This salon does not even deserve one star. I was there on 7/5/2017. They hurried me through a mani, pedi, and waxing. It was not relaxing in the least. I saw no sanitizing of instruments or materials they used before or after my procedures. The man who did my pedicure, used a nubby sponge to remove dead skin from my feet. He rinsed it in the water in which my feet were soaking, and then he threw it back on the small table beside me. I'm assuming the next person in that chair, would have the same sponge used on his/her feet without being properly sanitized. I have had many other pedicures and manicures at other places. For my pedicure, the tech did not use a cotton ball on my nails with alcohol to make sure the polish would adhere after the soaking. The soaking water smelled as if it had bleach in it with some sort of blue bubbly coloring. I hope my feet were not soaking in bleach as their way of sanitizing the foot soaking sink. The pedi tech did not put a coat of clear adhering polish on my toe nails so the polish would adhere. He put on one coat of my chosen color polish and then a clear top coat instead of two coats of polish before the top coat. He wrapped my legs in one warm towel for 20 seconds, tops. As for my manicure, it was done in about 5 minutes. I did not have any polish put on. My hand soaked in warm water. There was not a soaking agent in the bowl to help soften the cuticles. I also had waxing on areas of my face. The woman who did the waxing told me to be quiet. She knew what to do. She did want not my input on how I wanted my eyebrows to be shaped. I kept insisting on what I wanted. She was very rude. I accidentally left my wallet there. I called them to see if it was there since the salon was the last place I went before my wallet went MIA. They said it wasn't there. I called them back again. They told me to come in to look at video footage to see if my wallet was present on the video footage. On the phone, I described my wallet to a tee. I went to the salon prepared to look at video footage. When I arrived, they opened the front drawer of their desk. My wallet was there. They told me I couldn't have it. I needed to provide identification that it was mine. I told them all my identification was in the wallet that was in the drawer. Duh! It was such a simple matter that became so complex. There was a lot of anger on my part and the manager who rudely told me to leave. What were they thinking? I spent some anxious hours wondering where my wallet could be while they were playing "their game." They told me, "Well, we didn't steal any money from it." That was not the point. The Bureau of Licensing in Michigan should pay a surprise visit to this place. I'm contacting the BBB. This salon cut a lot of corners with time, proper sanitizing, and "product" for me and, I'm assuming, they are doing the same for all their other customers. Shame on them. The place looks nice and is well kept. But they are hiding a very shaming, dirty secret at the expense of their customers. read more

I called this salon to ask for their license number. I went on the State of Michigan licensing website and typed it into the 'search for license' number and there is no such license. When I called the owner back, he refused to go over the number with me. I explained that maybe I took the number down incorrectly, but he refused to repeat it to me. Hmmmm....sounds like another unlicensed nail salon. I WILL be reporting this to the state licensing department. read more

Sure has gone down hill. The girl was rushing so fast she cut the side of my foot with her scrub pad & cut my big toe where now I have a ingrown toenail. this has been about 4 weeks ago still hurts. I miss the last owners. Will not go back read more

A few days prior to my wedding my regular manicurist at "Pro Nails" had a emergency and had to go out of state and the whole shop closed as well. Prior to her having to go out of state however we had practiced what my nails would look like. I asked around and someone recommended "Snow Nails". I walked in and made an appointment let them know it was for a wedding and asked if someone could do my nails similar to what I had. Sure, sure I was told all our girls are good. Well my pedicure turned out fine and when she did my nails I was thinking not anything like what I wanted but so far ok. Then she put this horrible childish flower on my ring finger. It was ok for every day but not a wedding. Still I walked out the door and decide no not for my wedding day. I went back in and said "I really don't care for this flower can we change it?" The manicurist immediately got defensive and stated I would have to pay for it since I chose the colors. Color was not the issue. I said I did not care it was my wedding and wanted it right. She still continued to argue with me but relented when I told her I would never be back and had me sit in her chair. She continued to go on the defensive about the flowers and I got up and left. I HAVE NEVER HAD SUCH HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS SATISFACTION. THEY EVEN OPENLY SAID THIS AT ONE POINT. I WILL NEVER BE BACK p.s. I went to my hair stylist after she even mentioned my nails looked bad. That is pretty extreme if you think about it to have her take the chance of upsetting me by mentioning they looked bad. Two more salons later I finally just went with white tips and had the wedding of my dreams. read more

I came to Howell to meet up with a friend and we picked Snow Nails based on a suggestion from the owner of The Parlor right across the street. I am very picky about my manicures and pedicures and this place delivered. They were very thorough with the cleaning and cuticle removal of my hands and feet. The nail job was PERFECT. With my shellac manicure, she painted right down to the nail bed and there has been zero lifting after 7 days. I often struggle finding a place that can apply shellac well, so I am very happy. On top of the great job, everyone was VERY friendly and accommodating. We joked around the whole time, and they were pleasant without being too talkative or awkwardly silent. They let my friend and I sit next to each other every step of the way, even while she was still getting her pedicure and they were removing my previous shellac. I live about 35 minutes away, but it was definitely worth the drive. read more

HORRIBLE! I only gave one star because i had to in order to post this. I would recommend giving yourself a manicure before going here. In the 8 minutes they spent on my manicure, I had to ask them to refile my nails because they were still jagged; the skin around my cuticles was not cut right; I never soaked my hands in water - instead they put cuticle lotion on, put my hands in plastic baggies (sandwich bags) and put them in a warmer for two minutes. There was dirt under my nails when she was "done". She asked me to pay before she finished (like normal so I don't mess up the polish). Once I paid, I realized she was done. I asked for a refund being completely dissatisfied and was told no refunds. I even spoke to the manager who said in ten years of service they never had a complaint. I contacted the BBB as well as the State Licencing Agency to report them. On top of all of this, there were dead flies on the table and I did not see the instruments cleaned once. Well- I have never done a review before but, I felt the need this time. I have been going here for several years. When the new owners moved in (after a so called medical emergency from the old owners) I wasn't impressed but decided to give them a chance. After going back for over a year, the quality just kept getting worse and worse. When I went in the other day, I waited for the doors to open so I could hopefully get in and out. I needed a full set as, four of the nails broke off. Two were chipped by the next day. Due to the fact that he is understaffed (just him and his girlfriend most of the time) he is trying to squeeze as many people in as he can. He asked if I was in a hurry- I told him yes. He proceeds to leave me sitting there with my nails in acetone while he did a FULL pedicure, and then started a second one. When I asked if he forgot me, he started to belittle me in front of the other customers about how long it takes to remove the old nails. Remember- I have had my nails done like this for years, I know what is involved. After he huffed and complained (loudly) for a few minutes he says " If you want me to rip your nails off, I will and you can go get them done somewhere else, because you not happy." Not sure why, but I let him continue to remove the old nails. After he rammed the plastic nail under my real nail (instead of under the fake nail) It started to bleed. He stuck my bleeding thumb back into the acetone and tried blaming it on the fact that they didn't soak long enough. Then he continued the public humiliation even more. I finally got up and walked out, very upset. I will not go back, and have already informed all of my friends of the horribly embarrassing treatment I got there. Don't waste your time and let him sweet talk you about how wonderful him and his work are. Neither one is!! read more
