I hadn't been to this thrift store since just before the pandemic, it used to be a really good store but not anymore. They can't seem to decide whether they are an antique shop or a thrift store. First they know nothing about antiques or art but want antique shop prices for what is mostly junk shop stuff. Secondly, they have forgotten why people shop at thrift stores. They are being idiotically short sighted and greedy. I don't know who's pricing their art but it's a joke, cheap reproductions priced as real art. The same is true of their collectables, they do not have a clue. Broken and damaged stuff should be thrown out not priced as useful goods. I see no reason to ever go back. read more

The Snowline Hospice thrift stores have always been the gold standard, and in my opinion this is the last of the great ones. I've lived all over the state and these stores offer an unmatched combination of fun items, good prices, and friendly service. You can head right for the sections you love to shop in, or like me you can start on one side and spend an hour browsing your way across the store. Even when I don't buy anything I have a great time, but the weekends where I come home with a treasure or two that I didn't expect are always a little extra special because of this store and its staff! Great for organized selections, unique offerings (at tempting prices), and very friendly staff! I'm jealous of locals who can visit each week, but it's worth the quick stop from the freeway if you're from out of town: You'll be pleasantly surprised how fun and friendly just browsing is! read more

Overpriced , Self Serving, SKIMMERS for their own personal property, Display items out of reach and put a sign up saying these items aren't for sale until a future date, lie to some people regarding policy. I liked Hospice back in the 80's. The staff of volunteers were pleasant to deal with and genuine nice people. One by one they were 86'd and a new breed of blastopores emerged self important , inexperienced pricers and on power trips. Once I wrote a full page letter to the former Abigale Gessler ( so called Manager) saying how great the staff was and the pleasure I and most others got from the overall attitude merchandise prices et AL. Physicians , Judges , seniors , MORE Clients , assorted members of the community and so on signed it. When I received NO response I was informed by store manager Judy ( She's deceased and so is Gessler) that they justlaughed at the letter and tossed it away. Talk about a@$holes.I called re this and they said it was in a place of honor. What "place" ? There isn't any honor there. Who am I? Andy (the guy with the hat) who has a second hand store in downtown Pavillion. I opened in '84 and pretty well know what I'm talking about! I have been shopping the snowline thrift stores for many years, tho each store is different they all have great qualities. The staff at the 50 and el dorado rd exit have always been amazing. I recently took a truck load of donations and food to the camp fire victims that the el dorado location helped supply. They have always been awesome when it comes to adjusting prices and making sure their customers are happy! One star taken only because their clothes section is small for the size store. This place is large and has a lot of knick-knacks, kitchen stuff, crafting, misc tools and lots of what would be commonly known as 'Americana kitsch' interspersed with random actual antique-ish things. It has way more of those type things than say clothes, which they don't have as much of a selection as the other types of thrift places across the road although they do have a fair amount of shoes, purses , scarves- accessory stuff. They have books and records but the books are not really organized to what the shelf says- i felt tempted to straighten and categorize the area. They have decor areas that are sorted by color so if you were interested in 'themes' you would find the earth tone area, the black and white area the green stuff etc. The people working there have always been kind and friendly in my experience. Some of the stuff is a good deal and other stuff seems marked up a little high for what it is. I'm not sure how great their sorter is because I've seen stuff that isn't worth much marked up maybe because the sorter thought oh this is an interesting design , we should charge more- but it isn't anything special at all in the 'special red tag section' next to things I know are worth more that I recognized from my childhood but those things were cheaper.They do have some loyalty program where you just use your phone number and you get a discount so usually that makes up for whatever might be overpriced a bit. It's for a good cause nevertheless- hospice work is rewarding but also hard- I have respect for any organization trying to help the dying. read more

One of my favorite thrift stores in the area, as I've always found something, whether games, books, Legos, tools, glasses and kitchenware, etc. They have a solidly LARGE collection of everything, just like going into one of the larger chains (Goodwill, etc.) and prices are reasonable enough. read more

Been going to SNOWLINE for many, many years. Though I thoroughly support the Hospice cause....I have worked for Hospice...I believe the Thrift Store Management has lost site of the the people purchasing the "FREEly" Donated items. The pricing has become to irratic, extremely INcorrect, and high in ALL the Stores. Most of my friends that were "regulars" like myself, have STOPPED going...even on 1/2 off Saturdays. What happened to "SOME money, and it's gone...versus NO money, and it sits there? MOST people won't ask, and there are MANY staff members that WILL NOT bargain. Immulating GOODWILL is NOT a cmplement. Maybe closing the Arden Store will give cause for improvement. read more

Love this store. Great merchandise and pricing. The staff is always helpful and courteous-goes the extra mile to assure a wonderful customer experience. The staff seem like they enjoy their work-smiling and happy. Having an eBay store is a wonderful idea for those that can't get out too much. I used to enjoy shopping at these stores, but lately the staff has been so surly and rude, I find it hard to even go in. Twice now, the cashier has changed the price of something I was purchasing, raising the price of course. The first time I paid it without arguing, but it seemed off to me. The second time it happened (same cashier) she seemed shocked and put out that I no longer wanted the pitcher after she raised the price by $5. IT'S A THRIFT STORE. The first Saturday of the month is half off day, and that's definitely the time to get bargains, but it's crowded with folks, so beware. read more

Today was my 1st day back shopping at this location in quite sometime and now I remember why. The store is a mess! I would be embarrassed if I was management. A lot of clothes had holes and tears. The furniture was old and overpriced (FYI you're a thrift store, not an antique dealer). The back shelves were bare and stuff was just thrown everywhere. I was mainly in search of Christmas decor, went out back to look at trees and immediately turned back around and hustled to the exit as quickly as possible. Drove down the Snowline in Cameron Park and it's exceptionally better. Perhaps they should bring a team up to 50 and help fix it and show them how to do pricing. If I could've given 0 stars I would. So sad because it's for a great cause but I will NO longer step foot in that door. read more

After a very disturbing experience today I don't know if I can come back to the store. They have lots of cool items but so over priced It's ridiculous when you can go to target at Walmart and buy something brand-new for cheaper. I want to help by shopping and donating to the hospice care. But it's hard when they refuse to make a deal with you. I was short one dollar today. I couldn't find my debit card. They wouldn't accept my offer of a dollar less. I guess they really want to help those in need.... They are greedy selfish and entitled. Instead of getting rid of items... they took that item back and put it back on the shelf over one dollar. It was an 8track holder. Good luck. Not to mention I've been coming here for YEARS. I've probably spent 1000's of dollars here. I think there is new management, and it's time to start selling things for THRIFT prices. Or just learn how to negotiate for a good cause. read more

I shop here often and everytime I do I always find something worth my trip. The store is always well organized which makes shopping quick and easy if you are tight on time; not to mention your money is going to a good cause! There is something for everyone here. You name it and they probably have it! The employees here are always quick and happy to help if you have any questions. The last time I was here I was needing some kitchen decor for my new apartment and the manager happened to be around to help. He helped me find just what I was looking for! I voted A-OK because while I like their store, there are a few things they could approve on. Prices are a little high on some items. These days I generally only go on their 50% First Saturdays. I love that this place is right off of the 50. Easy in and out...it's also kind of hidden in plain site. Is quite large and I can usually spend at least an hour just walking around. Has a small "antiques" "vintage" section where things are priced higher, but you can find some gems here and there. I almost always stop here on my way to or from Tahoe. Now it seems like it is an antique store trying to get ever $1 for broken and used teams . I love a deal but when it is over price I just want to turn and leave . I recently visited this location, to my surprise a pair of cycle boots were there for sell! UPS had delivered my son's birthday boots to the wrong address over a month ago and they signed for them and did not return them! They are size 13 in European size, same as these boots! I told a wonderful man the story and showed him a picture of the exact same boots! He gave them to me for free, I called my son and he got so excited about his late birthdays present finally arriving! During this pandemic, its been my go to thrift store. I have been greeted every time at the entrance door and so far all the managers have been very understanding of our financial circumstance. We just moved to the area and so we had a budget to get new second hand furniture and trinkets to accent our new little home. You will find great antique pieces that can be combine with contemporary items too. I found boho home decor, country home decor, and here and there little gems. Excellent staff and great items! This store is always so organized and clean!! I found a real treasure of a picture, but it was so big I couldn't get it into my car and only had a small bungee cord for my trunk. Enter the store staff who helped me search for what I needed to get my find back home, even though it was closing time. One water-ski tow rope and two blankets later (also from the store ), I was on my way home. Thank you! Every time I stop by, there are lots of new things to see. Huge store mostly of furniture. The space could easily hold double of what it holds but everything is spaced out. Everything looked nice and organized. Toy area is tiny. The clothes are old. Tons of shoes but The shoes were expensive. One had a goodwill price tag and was $5 more the the goodwill tag. Jewelry looked nice but way overpriced. Overall it was not special at all. I've had better luck finding stuff at the teeny tiny Cameron park location. I don't plan to come back. read more

Love love love this place! Their products are always top notch and the prices are incredibly reasonable! And if you catch them on the first Saturday I think it is of the month everything is half off! I bought for beautiful dining room chairs for less than $30 and I love them! Well constructed and had very few scratches on them. I didn't even need to refinish them they look great the way they were. I love this place and go whenever I get a chance! I suggest you do the same! And donate your stuff to them as well!! read more

I had a bad experience on a few occasions their but this one was really irritating. I pulled the item ticket like you should do on large items in the past I was told if the ticket was missing someone was going to purchase it. I gave them my ticket and paid I turned around and here came the person bringing my items I said wow that was fast and was told that they were for someone else who bought them. I said no those are the items I pulled the ticket from and paid for. He told no must have been different ones and rolled them out to a waiting person in a rude manner then tried to apologize after he came back. I did get a refund but it was very irritating that someone else said that the tag was missing so they could by them before I could pay. read more
