I went to donate two lamps. The first guy said that he had to ask if they were accepting lamps. I pulled up into a parking spot next to the donation acceptance area. Another guy comes out and tells me to move over to the other area. I was intending to shop afterwards, so did not want to move to another parking spot if they would not take my lamps. I asked the second guy if they take lamps, he said to move over to the other area. I asked again if they take lamps, he told me again to move over. We went over this again and I said I didn't want to move if they would not take the lamps. He would not answer my question and raised his voice. UNBELIEVABLY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL!!!! I took my things elsewhere and will never donate to Snowline again. read more

Watch out for long haired woman in 50s working register - every other cashier honors the posted prices while old long haired woman will talk to you about baby clothes costing $10 per bag while charging $18 for under half a bag...i could see charging $10 per bag as flat rate or if $10 per bag then half a bag should be $5 or even $7 but to discuss one price while charging almost double for half as much is robbery. So beware of betting overcharged & don't bother asking how it works out because they obviously keep imbeciles on staff & on register, unsupervised who lack the brain power to handle such a simple task without screwing it up! Well what a great great gift to our community... I start with the support men Jeremy n Steve.... They are outstanding n organized. And, their attitudes are commendable.. I have tons of experience working with them. Really, no matter how hot, cold, raining or sunshine... They, lug, lift, carry plus n always with a welcome n grateful welcoming smile. Jeremy is very knowledgeable n informative. He explained, the snowline process, pick-up service while we were daily bringing in old stuff, clothes, n household furniture etc... Purging for a move.. He is really amazing n professional. So, for Snowline Hospice in Cameron Park we find them a continuous emense support that made n make my transitions far simpler n organized.. ..thank you Jeremy n Steve for your amazing service... Am I the only one who has noticed the increase in prices at all of the Snowline Hospice stores? I'm not sure where they got the idea that they could start charging outrageous prices for used items. These are "THRIFT" stores but sadly there is nothing thrifty about them anymore. Let's try to remember that these businesses are ment to cater to the less fortunate while also contributing/donating to a good cause. read more

Prices went UP again. That's 2 inceases in 1 yr. I found a dress that was Hillard and Hansen brand from the old Mervyns dept stores that closed in 2008, making this dress AT LEAST 6 years old. I asked the price and was told $6.50.. which was up from $5.75. Hospice Thrift makes a 100% profit on items that were donated for FREE. It would be nice if they would consider the economy with it's hikes in price. I also found a pair of No Boundaries brand boots from Walmart. They were filthy, and in poor shape.. but thought I could clean them up. They prices them at $10 for old walmart brand boots. NO THANKS. Shirts went up from $3 - $4.50. I will stick with Del Paso thrift in Sacramento where things are $2 and they offer half off days, senior and military discounts. read more

I will never bother with donations to the Cameron Park location again. Extremely rude and wanting to pick and choose what they will take from you. They started going through everything in the back of my vehicle instead of me telling them what was for donation. I will donate to Goodwill from now on. read more

I can not believe the experience I just had and I apologize for the long review in advance. I have been to this location many times before and my experience has been average but this time I can firmly say I've never felt more judged or disrespected in an establishment ever. I was trying on a jacket that was priced $43.99 and one of the staff members (Elsa) came up to me and asked if I was actually going to purchase it in a judgmental tone. I replied "yes I am" and her response was "are you sure did you look at the price tag" and I said yes I'm aware thank you. As I'm still continuing to try on the jacket she ushers me to take it off before I'm even done. She tells me that she has to hold it at the front although it was just sitting on the rack. When I went up to pay for the jacket Elsa still acted as if I wouldn't be able to pay for it asking questions like "are you sure you want to buy it" she even asked for my I.D. when I handed her my card which I've NEVER been asked for before at this location even on times I've spent more money than just $44. Elsa acted as if I did not have the money to pay for the jacket which makes me feel so disrespected because I work 2 jobs and work hard for my money. There was also a volunteer (Coleen) who had comments to say on the way my nephew was acting. My nephew has lost both of his parents recently and also has learning disabilities. Coleen was talking to Elsa saying he is misbehaved and Coleen was also giving us dirty looks throughout the entire time we were there. I recommend that if you want to go to one of the Snowline thrift stores you do not go to this location in Cameron Park. read more

They won't let u return items I've been going going there for years bought a mower they said it was tested and they would allow me to bring back if it didn't work it didn't mower shop said it was garbage so I took it back they fought with me bout refunding me they said they would not do it buyer beware !they only gave me a one time credit! This used to be my favorite of the Snowline thrift stores, but it has been some time since I have found a good deal at this location. A lot of donations are made at this location, but are the items going to other stores? It is always busy as many locals frequent the store. Nice staff. read more

I am a big fan of the snowline thrift stores overall and have been to them all dozens of times. The other stores are amazing (e.g., Arden, both Placerville stores), but this particular store is terrible. It is the smallest of the snowline stores by far with the worst selection and the smallest parking lot. However, the main reason I don't like it is because the staff at the store is often rude and make snide comments. They also seem to attract a clientele that is equally rude and odious. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the other snowline stores instead of this one. read more

I'm a volunteer, that has been working there for 20 yrs; it's a great location, wonderful group of people to work with, the nicest store, to both shop in as well as volunteer & the staff is very helpful. I love working there & have seen many changes over the yrs; since working there, they've comforted me when my dad was in the hospital & still asks about every time I'm there. I highly recommend volunteering you time at this store as well as shop there, because you never know what your gonna find read more

My mom and I both love going here and checking out their selection. Pretty good variety but we feel their prices have gone up recently almost to the point of normal retail. However, first Saturday's of the month where everything is 50% off normal price makes sweet deals even sweeter. read more

I agree with Shirley M...the stores arrangement is chaos! It needs to be re-arranged. You are constantly bumping into people and must turn sideways to get through the store! I dont understand the placement of the clothing racks right near the checkout counter, that also causes confusion when there is a line of people waiting to check out I really hope they take the time to reconfigure the store to make sense ASAP! This store also needs more cashiers or a manager that pays attention and has someone else help out with cashiering. Today (march 29,2013) there was a huge line with only ONE cashier, although another lady was behind the counter just puttering around, completely oblivious to the long line and did not help check out customers even though she was running the cash register earlier. She did help bag items but she realy needed to open her register!!! Let me add that she was a very pleasant person as was the cashier. This is a very nice Hospice store, I like shopping here. The prices (as I have noticed with most other Snowline Hospice stores) can be kind of kooky. They just dont make sense! Some things are EXTREMELY over priced! I also dont like that they have "NFD" on some items meaning on half price days they will not discount that item. These are the items that are already ridiculously overpriced! PLEASE! OK I vented, I will keep shopping at all the local Snowline Hospice stores and also keep donating!! After all its for a very good cause! read more

This used to be my favorite thrift store. I always bought something. It is a confusing mess now. Parking is now a problem. You walk in the front door to a bunch of junky furniture. Then you have to wind your way around a bunch of clothing racks. Everyone has to go sideways to keep from bumping into people. It is all mixed up. The cozy book nook is gone. I went last week and today. I never bought a thing. I heard several ladies complain about the new placement. Please go back to the original. You could go to the back drop off your donation. Then you could enter the back door go inside to check for a treasure. It was so much fun read more

Could I be MORE DISAPPOINTED? So, I bought an extra large rug today around 2pm. It would not fit in my car, so I asked if I could pay now and pick up later. I brought up the tag (labeled bring to cashier), paid for the item and was told it would be waiting for me to pick up later. By 6:30pm that night, I BORROWED a truck and ran to the store to pick up MY RUG. Guess what???? They sold it to some one else after I bought it! The sold the rug right out from under me. By the way, I spent all day planning my new living room arrangement and buying matching pillows. This was not something like a blouse or skirt...it was an 8x10 rug! I could not be more disappointed, angry, frustrated...I actually don't have words. What a cluster. They refunded me, but truly that is not the point. There is no make good that can make this OK. Word to future buyers, if you have to pick up your item....no guarantees it will be there! Lousy read more
