First, the fireplace is 3 years old. Second, they would not guarantee that this would fix the problem and the part was not returnable. Third, after the technician gave me the part number, I looked it up and it was a $200 part. Nothing added up about this experience. I didn't feel confident in the diagnosis and got a second opinion. The second company (Energy Partners) found the actual issue: a bad thermopyle, replaced it while there, and the entire repair cost $225 including the service call. I shared these details and asked Hellgate to review their misdiagnosis and refund the $200 service fee, but they refused. This was a significant misdiagnosis with a nearly $2,000 unnecessary repair recommendation. This level of misdiagnosis undermines trust, and customers deserve far better. I cannot recommend this company.

Bill will tell you he cannot work on sinks/faucets that are sold at Home Depot or Lowe's. He left us with two choices, told us he could replace the hose if we ordered it (plus $190 for a second service call from Bill) or BUY a whole new faucet fixture from a brand that he would work on AND pay for another $190 for a service call. Honestly if he and his staff would have asked us some basic questions over the phone we could have ordered the part and installed it in one call. Before leaving this review I called and asked to speak with bill to see if he could come out to install the new hose (big mistake) and to offer him some customer feedback and a chance to resolve this problem. He called my phone and preceded to interrupt me as I was explaining my concerns and went off on a profanity laden rampage telling me to: "Come find him if you don't like his services" and to "go fix the f***king thing yourself" and then threatened me with harassment if I continued to contact him or his company, wow.
