Couldn't be bothered to dump it 3ft into the driveway near the garage

I really had higher expectations for this company and it pains me to give them only 3 stars. We went to the store and pointed at the stones we wanted, it was 3/8in limestone 8,000lbs of it and we told the lady we needed it for leveling which she agreed it was perfect for so the lady put in our order for us. When it got delivered, the delivery guy just dumped it close to the curb, not even in our driveway, how hard is it to drive 3 ft into the driveway?? It was then that we discovered it was the wrong stone, we received 3/4in limestone, the wrong one. We couldn't return it or say anything because the delivery guy just sped off and it was 8,000lbs so it's not easy to just return. Then when we went back and told them what happened the lady did give us a discount on our next delivery since now we had to purchase sand, but she didn't even admit to her mistake. When it got delivered, the delivery guy dumped it so close to the curb that a lot of it went into the road! Not great service delivery wise. Considering it was 8,000lbs of sand, it was a pain for us to have to move it by hand onto our driveway from the road. He couldn't have been bothered to try to dump it in our short driveway even though my boyfriend was trying to help guide him. Pretty disappointed in delivery overall but they have good selection and prices.

    Well stocked aisles.

Best of the best. It will knock the socks off any Home Depot. As a matter of fact, it is in a different class altogether. Apparently this locally-owned store cares about their employees so they keep their staff. You can get to know the staff here and listen to their tips and product recommendations and develop a sense of trust in your home repair needs. One thing - if you're following a GPS, most of the GPS directions lead you about a half a mile away from where the store really is. I made a manual change to mine. The upstairs is devoted to gardening, light electrical, cleaning, etc. The downstairs, which has its own separate entrance, is the heavy duty construction and gardening area. No need to run to box stores when you have a gem like this in the area.

The store is highly organized and offers a surprisingly wide array of items for its size. What truly distinguishes it, however, is its staff. They are knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. Walking in with a problem, they'll help you think through the best solution. Often, the advice alone makes the trip worthwhile, with the purchase being a bonus. In an age where almost everything can be ordered instantly online, places like this still play an essential role. Some issues require judgment and experience, not just a quick online search. The team here clearly knows their craft and is happy to share their expertise. What I especially value is their honesty. They never try to pressure you into buying unnecessary items. If they don't carry what you need, they'll tell you and often point you toward where to find it. Such confidence and integrity are rare. While large stores like Home Depot have vast inventories, for smaller or specialized items, especially related to older Center City homes, this store is often the better choice. Prices are fair, and the quality of guidance enhances the overall value. It's evident that this store is run with pride, care, and years of expertise. It has genuine character, and I hope the neighborhood appreciates it as much as I do. I'm always impressed when I visit. Thank you!

They really go the extra mile when it comes to customer service. Stanley's is the classic small business the neighborhood wants to keep in place for their needs big and small. I've been blessed that I haven't had too many emergencies in my house but knowing a Stanley's run can be done quick sets my mind at ease. The best I can do to support them is to continue to visit in those non-emergency moments like when I need a key made or a small piece of hardware.

Last week they went above and beyond, clearly deserving of media mention. Last summer I purchased a Weber Grill. I immediately had an issue with the casters not working. I called Ernie who dispatched his crew to retrieve the grill and try to fix it. It was missing many screws and one of the casters had fallen off. The crew brought back the grill, supposedly fixed but I have had difficulty with the same casters since last year. They will lock in place, and not stay unlocked thus making it almost impossible to move my grill. Finally, last week one of the casters just broke off entirely. This was two days before my July Fourth cookout. I called Ernie back and he immediately remembered me and dispatched another crew to assess the situation . When the crew arrived, they realized they would again have to take the grill back to the shop. A few hours later I got a call from Mike asking me if I wanted to have the repair done by Weber under the warranty or if I wanted them to try to put on new casters. I told them to put on universal casters because I did not want the same casters from Weber. A few hours later I got a call from Mike telling me the repair was complete and could they drop off the grill. I said sure and how much did I owe them. I was then informed I didn't owe them anything. I cannot thank them enough. I especially want to shout out Ernie, Mike and the owners , Mark and Alex Jaconski who run an exceptional business.

I was respectful and followed the man whom swore by the other machine. He had possession of my key when he walked away from the store machine. I repeatedly asked him to slow down as I'm recovering from an Achilles repair. By the time I made it to the machine he said just put your credit card in. I said I wasn't sure I wanted the keys from the machine. he proceeded to say oh the give a key for free when you buy one. It literally was too late as Apple tap ran my card. Thru out the process the man repeated Lowes will give you money back of keys didn't work! Upon my return, employee wasn't the kindest. rather of the rude side. When I explained what happened she should have called on the manager to investigate why Lowe's employee assigned to key department could not apply how training to the process of making my key. I am a Lowe's Pro Business member and plan to be looking in Home Depot's business portion. I can not believe how they disregard what customers are saying about employee without asking for more details. Some empathy should be applied during all social interactions. Employees at all levels should never be as disgusting to an employee as they had been. Negative comments came from other department employees as they eaves dropped on my personal conversation.

Used to be an ACE, now it's a True Value…read more * * * TIP * * * Their house key duplication is the same price as Depot, but True Value offers real brass keys instead of the lower quality steel keys at Depot. * * * TIP * * * $75 Chip car key replacements!!!! Just had a very helpful experience with them for a chip key replacement for our car. Dealer wanted to charge $240 + an hour of my time (pre-scheduled appointment too) for a replacement chip key. True Value can save you tons of cash !!!! After a lot of research I was referred to a True Value in Wilmington as someone who does chip keys. I decided to try a True Value nearer me. The Newtown Square location does not do keys; very frustrating. Luckily we're actually closer to this Paoli store, so I gave them a try. They looked up our make/model/year to be sure they could do it, and had a blank for our vehicle in stock. There is one main guy who does it at Paoli, so you should call to make sure he'll be there before you go in. Unlike Lowes and Depot (who I'd called earlier in my research), True Value actually knew what they were talking about and were familiar with our car. The man who does this totally knows what he's doing, and was totally competent about running us through the details of how it all works, and price ($75) and time (20 mins to program the vehicle). WAAYYYYY better than what my dealership was going to charge. It was like 70% off the price, and a third of the time! No brainer. Note: Lowes and Depot only do certain makes and models, and even then, only certain years within their already-narrow parameters. If you have a very popular car, you may be in luck there, but it is really hit or miss, even with some pretty well-loved vehicles, like ours. As mentioned above, not all True Values offer this. This Paoli location has a superior key service, and they deserve a lot of credit for the value they offer, plus the customer service. This is my 300th review, and I'm super-happy to make it a 5-star one! :-)

It was a pain in the neck trying to run to the big Home Depot and run down the aisles. So we found the local Mom and Pop store. Paoli Hardware - in the shopping center near us. You walk in and you're greeted with "What can I help you find today?" It really took me aback coming from New York, believe me. Well after the first few times of going back in and out, I was having conversations with the lone female employee that they had on the first floor hardware section about which framazam was better than the other. If you live in this area you'll find that this is a very nice hardware store. They've gone over to the Ace Hardware line, so they carry kitchen ware stuff, gift ware, etc. And yes they do have an excellent toy section upstairs, thank G-d my children are grown. And if you need gardening stuff you go downstairs or you can pick up your perennials or annuals outside during the summer. I sometimes go in just say hello and browse if I'm walking past . Over the years they get to know your face, your kids and smile, even your dogs.
