First of all, I live in Shreveport (not San Francisco as it shows at the top of the review). Unfortunately, more people submit bad reviews than good. My experience with Snyder Floor Covering goes back to 2013. Richard Snyder's crew helped create a beautiful master bath in our house (unfortunately, I didn't write a review then!) Recently, when I needed to touch up some of the grout with caulk, I contacted Snyder Flooring for info on the exact color - hoping that someone would reply. I was pleasantly surprised when Richard Snyder reached out to me himself! He asked for the approximate date of the project, so he could look up the information. After I gave him the year, he said he would get back to me. A short time later, after going to the warehouse where his records are stored, he called me with the color and information on where to get the grout. This may not seem big to some, but I am overwhelmed by the personal service from the boss! I recommend this kind of follow-up service to anyone. read more

I will let the pictures tell you why. These spaces are all through my home. My home and floor are under five years old. It started shortly after we moved in. We made them aware. They replace some of the floor. It started happening again and than pandemic happen and now they say we are out of warranty. They glued the floor straight to the subfloor without a pad for the floor to float on. We don't know what to do. The floor needs replacing, but not by Snyder Flooring! read more

Recently purchased a home and the kitchen sink came unmounted from the already cut granite countertop. Work was not originally done by Snyder Slabs but hired them to remount the sink. For only having to add Bondo, silicone and a 1x4 piece of wood was charged $250. Feel extremely ripped off and for this reason I can't recommend them especially since I still feel like they could have installed a clip system while unmounted. I have to say Frank didn't perform the work but he did come out to discuss the issues I had with the expense of the work and the quality 1x4 piece of wood drilled into the side of my cabinetry. For the 45 minutes of work and the $20 or less in supplies $250 seems extremely high and not what I expected for a quality solution! read more

We used Snyder for flooring and granite. Originally we had flooring picked out at Home Depot, but we let a worker at Snyder talk us in to getting flooring with them. We don't know much about wood floor, but we knew we wanted a floor that would hold up to a dog and children. We didn't want a wood that would scratch easily. Well, 2 yrs later and I really wish we would have never let that man change our minds. They lie to get you to buy. And then! They came out to measure the area so that they could order brick tile, so we could have it installed by someone else. Once all the floor was laid, we had soo much extra left. Enough for an entire medium sized bedroom. I called Snyder to ask them to come pick it up, or we could bring it to them, and they said they could not accept a return on the tile. What??? You came out and measured! It was their fault, yet would not allow a return on the tile. Now we have a ton of tile with no use for, and it wasn't cheap tile. He had the nerve to tell us, "If we would have done it, then there would have been no extra tile left". Well, how is that?? You're saying y'all MESS UP so much that you would have used all that tile? The granite guy was probably the easiest of all the workers to talk to. Because he actually answered questions and never made us feel rushed, unlike the others. But when they sent out the guys to install the granite, they cut my oven hole a little crooked, so now my oven top is crooked and it's very annoying. I also did not want my soap holder hole (sink) to be cut into the granite, yet it was done so anyway. read more

The owner needs to be aware of one of his salespeople and her behavior. She needs to not be there Carla came out and had wonderful ideas and was so helpful. I am thrilled and impressed. Wanted and needed a tub to roll-in shower conversion. She quoted me $6800 total, including plumbing and a sturdy seat for the shower for my very ill husband. I told her I had been saving up for this for a long time and the price was doable and that I had that in my checking account. So what now I asked. She said we need to do a contract, one for you and one for us. Fine. Go. Oh she said, I did not bring one with me. Strange. Very strange I thought. She was to come out with contract next day so called her that morning to confirm and said I would pay end of job since the job only was to take 5 days and they already had the material in stock. She said no it must be paid in full before we start the job. I said no way, I always pay at the end of a job and I have had jobs done that cost 3 times what this job will cost. She said you might say you need more time. I won't. Why would you think that. We have to have the money in full. So I said no way and cancel today. Called the BBB and talked to them. They said no, never ever pay anyone in full for a job they are going to do. You can get ripped off. Do not do it. Called my plumber. He said you gotta be kidding. Do not ever pay up front. I have never heard of that. Called store back. A salesman named Tommy answered phone. Told him what I wanted to do and he said oh we will take half up front and half of end. Owner just wants us to get something because we could be hurt. So I said Carla said I had to pay all before job starts. He said no half will be fine. Pause. Oh. We have to have it all up front. Who were you talking to?? He said, uh Carla. She said it had to be paid before job starts. He sounded embarrresed. What in the world? Then at the hair dresser a lady I know said they did by conversion 2 years ago. I paid at end. And whole place chimed in. No, never pay up front. They can really hurt you. They are trying to take advantage of you because you are older. Do not do it. And now I have to start calling and find another company. OK. Will do. But owners need to know what Carla is doing to their business. Actulaly she is not a very nice person. While here with the daughter of the owner who just was here with her and had gotten up to go get something, Carla said to me---she is not all here if you know what I mean. I didn't. She seemed ok to me. And Carla made a screwy circle with her hand to her temple. Really sweel saleswoman that. Lost the job for the company. Cannot stand the girl who will someday own the company. And is ruining the company reputation as they go. Meanwhile I am finding another company to do my job. And noticed an ad from Snyder in paper for same job for $5500, what! And will call the Consumers Protection Office next week, plus the Shreveport white collar division to see if Snyder regularly pulls this kind of stuff. Have called the investigative reporters at a tv station. They said it sounded very fishy to them. Will talk to AARP about this in case they are doing something to hurt older people and am checking on a Consumers Advocate for older people. Snyder owners: Carla is hurting your business badly and the word is out. She needs to be gone. She has a loose hinge if you ask me. Comes out with no contract forms, wants 100% up front when others at the store are saying 50% is fine. Something going on there and you need to find out what. read more

My wife & I just purchased a new home the first part of June and we were needing to have new countertops installed. She and I found the granite countertops that we liked at Snyders and did not look at any other competitors. James, our salesman, was very cordial and accommodating in the beginning and he told us that he would need to measure our countertops to get the correct dimensions and to be able to provide us a quote. He came to our home, took the measurements and told us that he would have a quote the next day. He did and we told him that we wanted to proceed with the work asap. He told us that they could do the install within (2) weeks and that their installer would be calling us no later than the following week to come out to our home and verify James's dimensions. When we did not receive a call back from anyone I called James to let him know and he told me that his installer was at another job not far from our home and that he would be calling me to come by. We never received a call. The next week, this was (2) weeks later, and the week promised for the install, I called James again and left a voicemail for a return call. He did not call until late in the evening and told me that he had been handling a family matter but that our installer would call us within the hour. We never received a call. The third week, one week after our promised installation I went to Snyders and had to wait for James to arrive which was about 10:30 AM. When he came in I told him that obviously this arrangement was not going to work out and that we wanted a refund for the total amount that we had prepaid him for this job. I forgot to mention earlier that James told me initially that payment in full is required before any work is done. He was very forthcoming and understood our frustration. He told me that I would have to go to their Industrial Drive location to get my refund. I did and received my refund. Based upon our experience I would not recommend a anyone do business with this company! read more

Asked to have kitchen to laundry measured, master bath & 2 other baths for new flooring, granite put kitchen cabinets w/ back splash. Salesman talked us into replacing hallway to stairs that had recently been carpeted to match the hardwood going kitchen through laundry. However, salesman only measured upstairs bathroom. Upon writing job up & selecting materials, we find out he didn't measure master bath or downstairs bath so we approximated measurements the granite guy was going to measure them at his Appt. Monday afternoon the salesman calls & let's us know that we had nailed it right on the head w/ measurements between the 2 baths, but he forgot to include the 10% overage & I only owed $100.00 for that. Tuesday they started work & by 10:30 the salesman was there to tell my husband the granite guy had mismeasured the bathroom floors & I owed $600 & some odd dollars!! Not only that, he was renigging on what he said in our talks about who was going to remove the flooring (as he made the comment twice that Synder's was removing flooring!!) My husband ended up negotiating w/ them & w/ my husband ripping out kitchen to laundry room, them the formal dining room (they apparently tile over the bath floors) & me only paying $387 & some change & we would call it good. However, like my husband first told the salesman, "It's my wife's checkbook.". Right then & there the salesman should have come & talked to me!! I was the one who had final say on the flooring materials, wrote check, and signed contract. He should have known if he goofed up & wanted to try to steal more money from us then he need to try to steal from me, the one paying!! The granite guy did not show up for the Mon 9:00 am app to measure cabinets for granite template & measure bathrooms. In fact, neither him nor the salesman remember him making the Appt with us. Funny how Frank (the Granite guy is never in the store) & Randy said that to is when he called him over to introduce us & set up the Appt, but for Randy to initiate setting up the Appt & stand there while we made it, be offered to come out to measure the floors at the same time & opt out & say he would let Frank do it, not write the Appt down on our contract that was sitting right there (the contract he never offered me a copy of by the way) & he too never remembered the Appt. That's twice he couldn't remember something but he sure could keep tabs on things to keep tallying up for me to pay for once the job got started. When he recommended us putting wood in the hallway where we just had new carpet placed I said, "We have to take up the brand new carpet we just put in!!", meaning more of a oh my gosh that's good carpet I am replacing & I guess he took it wrong as he said, " No, I take out the flooring." The second reference made about Snyder's being responsible for floor removal was when we were discussing what the incidentals were that may come up that may cost me more than what I paid. Randy said when they, yes, they, not us, remove the flooring, if there are parts too unlevel and they have to float them, then there will be the costs of the float material and labor involved, etc. Randy said 10-14 days to finish the job. Come day 10 they left my house & never returned. They left my house a holy nasty disaster. The kitchen had grout smears all over the floor from the back splash, construction dust was all over the house, in bathtubs were the materials they laid down to try to protect tubs from toilets while they laid ceramic tile & also where he washed his sponge from grouting the tiles. I found a cigarette butt laying in some trash they left in kitchen floor as if one of them may have smoked a cigarette in my home. They left a trash bag half full of their trash from working. The flooring from my upstairs bath was just scattered upstairs. Quality of work was par. There was glue coming out from the wood connector that connects the hardwood floor in formal dining room to the ceramic tile in foyer. But the horrible workmanship comes into play in the master bedroom & bath. Where ceramic tile meets carpet in bedroom & the matching his & her closet, there is a big gap that is unsightly. This is unacceptable work for the amount of money I spent for this job. I could have gone to Lowe's & paid 1/2 the price & gotten a better job than what I got!! Stay away from Snyder's at all cost!! And no, they never contacted me for their money either!! I wouldn't suggest it, unless they plan on redoing the rooms they have messed up, on their on dime & time, w/in 2 days from now!! read more

I had a wonderful experience with Snyder Floor Covering and I would recommend them to anyone who wants to redo their floors. The salesman that I worked with was Tommy. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He came out immediately that day to do the measuring. I replaced the floors in my kitchen, dining room, entertainment room and laundry room for a total of 602 square feet. I decided to go with porcelain tiles that had to be ordered. The tile arrived within one day of me paying for it and the installers showed up the next day to put it in. It was a large job that required a lot of heavy manual labor and the installers were the absolute best that I could have imagined. They worked very hard and very diligently. They moved all my furniture and then moved it back. I could not have asked for better installers. My floors look absolutely awesome now! read more

I really don't know where to begin! I paid for my granite the end of January. Paying in full was my first mistake. I will give them a week due to winter storm but that is it. They finally came and measured. And by March came to install only to do a horrible job matching the seam. No biggie, they were gonna make it right. I went picked out a new piece of granite, but once more they had to come remeasure. James, my salesman came to measure and proceeded to blame me for all the delays, rushed through the measurements, therefore getting them wrong causing them to have to come out once again to measure. Finally I get a install for the replacement piece. 8:30 on Friday April 16. 8:30 comes and goes so I make a call to the owner Jeff Snyder, who has yet to call me back. His guys showed at 11 Friday and finished the job. The installers were amazing. The absolute only good experience with this horrible company. I have yet to talk to Jeff about my issues due to him not returning my calls. I could go on and on about issues with this company but I will stop here. If you want quality work and great customer service DO NOT use this company. The end result is good but the headache to get there was not worth it. After all, they did promise to have it done no later than a week and a half of payment, not 3 months later. read more

I had a tile floor installed by Sndyers Floor Service in January 2011. Its a six thousand dollar floor and would be very pretty if not for all the problems. Soon after the floor was installed the grout began to break, and the grout was not the same color through out the floor. They have come back to replace the grout. Tuesday June 21 they came back for the 3rd time to replace more grout. It's breaking already, today is 24th of June. They have promised to fix the problem but just repairing the grout is not enough now and the floor is still different colors! read more

I would put a 0 if I could. When we ordered our tile flooring they accidentally ordered the wrong floor. They first attempted to blame us until they realized it was their mistake. We also ordered our carpet through them, and the carpet people put the carpet in without leaving room for it to be tucked. They just cut it off and left the ends all messed up!
