I called SoCal Spa Removal to get an estimate to remove the hot tub I had. Mike gave me a great estimate. I expressed some concerns I had regarding whether or not the amount of road and driveway space I have would be a problem for him to get the job done. He said he could drive all the way to East County San Diego to figure out whether he would have enough space for his truck and trailer. Within a couple of hours Mike arrived at my house. He agreed that there was limited road and driveway space for his truck and trailer, so he came with an alternative plan for where to park his vehicles. We talked about his and mine availability to get the job done, and we agreed that in two days he would come over early morning. The day before Mike stopped by he called to touch basis on a couple of details, and I asked him whether he could stop by 30 minutes later to give me a enough time to drop off my kid at daycare and come back home; he said that was no problem. Mike knocked on my door promptly at 7:30AM. By 10:30AM, he was done with the job! Removing the tub took a little longer than what other reviewers in Yelp had reported simply because he had to load his truck a few times to take pieces of the spa to his trailer, which was parked down the hills from where I live. I have no doubt that the job would have taken less than 3 hours if his trailer was parked in front of my house, which was not possible given the space on my road and size of my driveway. At the end of the job, Mike cleaned my wooden deck, even though he didn't have to, and took care of the electrical attachments and wires. He cut and capped all wires, and sealed everything to make everything safe and secure even though we thought there was not functional electrical box for the spa. In other words, he went above and beyond to make sure that whatever electrical was left of the spa would not harm anyone. Mike and I chatted for a bit once his was done with the job. On Saturday, 29 April 2017, I entered my info into the website. Within two hours, Michael Gordon called and explained what was to be done based on my info. He informed me that he was on his way home form another job and told me to make my request again with my address. Later that day I did so and he emailed me the particulars on what he would do the following Thursday, 4 May 2017. On Thursday, when I got home the spa was gone, but it appeared that the deck upon which it sat was not power washed as promised by Mike. So, I emailed him my concern and he replied within 5 minutes. He said that he did not power wash and said that it was a mistake on his part and was very sorry. He told me that he would come out the following Monday, 8 May, 2017. He was very nice and wanted to make up for his mistake. On Monday, he came as promised. When he was done he emailed me pictures of the completed job and I confirmed it when I returned home that evening. Mike said that is was his "fault for not doing it right the first time, but it will be a learning experience for me. Thank you for that." I am very appreciative of his concern for me. So Cal Spa Removal is the ONLY company to use when you need to get rid of an old spa! I've been a Realtor for 28 years, and I've worked with MANY vendors. Mike is the best. We sold a house in Beverly Hills, where the Seller left tons of junk behind, including rusty old iguana cages, an old children's play set, and an old, algae filled spa. I started looking last summer to have my non-working 12 year old spa removed, saw Mike's info and decided I would probably call him based on the reviews, but ran into health problems and had to put it off until now. I needed to remove my old spa asap. I requested a quote on Thursday. Mike responded in 15 minutes with a very fair quote and offer to come early Saturday morning. He arrived on time and got right to it. Mike was pleasant and professional. He was done in 2 hrs +15 mins. He would have been done sooner except my spa, while small, was situated inside an atrium whose only access point was through my family room. Extra time was required to maneuver pieces out safely. Before Mike arrived, we moved furniture to clear a path and laid blankets to protect carpet. Mike did the rest. What an awesome experience! Mike quoted me a high and low cost to remove my spa since it would need to be cut up to remove it from my backyard. He finished the job before me early so he called to let me know and said he would be at my house in 30 minutes. He arrived on time and immediately started figuring out exactly how to get the spa out of my yard. He ended up having to cut it into 3 pieces. This was done quickly and efficiently.
