Extremely Disappointing Very disappointing experience. At Soaring Eagle Resort Water Park Lodge. At approximately 1:30 AM, I had to wake up my 5-year-old, pack up our entire room, and move to another room because the thermostat was not working properly and the room became unbearably hot. Having to do this in the middle of the night with a young child was extremely inconvenient and unacceptable. I spoke with the manager, Chloe, who was rude and dismissive. After explaining the situation, I was told that 20% was all they were willing to offer and that there was no corporate office to contact because they are not a franchise. Considering what we went through, 20% is nowhere near an appropriate resolution. Things can go wrong at hotels, but how management handles those situations matters. Unfortunately, I felt completely let down by both the experience and the response from management. I would not recommend staying here. read more

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel and waterpark. Reading the reviews I was rather nervous but my personal experience was a five star stay. Hotel and the waterpark were clean. The hotel room was very clean. The bathroom as well. They even have dove brand toiletries! That's fancy in my book! The staff seemed very helpful. The water park is not huge but adequate. The hot tub is nice and hot. The hot tubs is very large so you and your whole family can hang out. The waterslides are quality, fun and fast. There is a rock climbing wall with a water landing. The price is fantastic! With hotel room comes access to the water park. This was my family's first time here. 3 generations of people we all enjoyed ourselves. The facility was clean and well maintained. The front desk staff were especially kind and welcoming, which made a great first impression. My four-year-old had a wonderful time, and that alone made the visit worthwhile. We went to the Hotel and spent over $1000.00 on a room and 4 extra passes. The weed smell was horrible, very dirty room, unfinished bathroom tub and the jets didn't work. We ordered pizza and it was horrible-order and waiting was about 40 mins. A bottle beer was $8.00. We chose Soaring Eagle water park because it was only a few hours from home and we figured it would be a quieter experience than the bigger water parks. Over priced for what they have to offer. Had almost no tubes available. Neither of the hot tubs had jets that worked and the pool hot tub was barely hot and looked like it hadn't been cleaned. They have posted "strict" quiet hours 11p-8a but it isn't enforced very well. When we complained about kids running and jumping in the room above us, approaching midnight we were told they just got there with a bunch of little kids, they were just "settling in" and to give them "grace" (The running and jumping had been going on for over 2 hours, beginning just before 10p and waking us up) No "grace" or consideration for us who needed to get up in the morning and drive home. They told them to "quiet down". The "quieting down" didn't happen until after midnight. Front desk and management didn't care. We'll be taking our dollars elsewhere. I recommend you too. read more

Started off as a pleasant experience. Clean room, fun time at casino (in separate location down the road). However, back at the hotel, which is owned by the casino, there was no information given regarding the fact they have NO breakfast, along with the restaurant and store closing by 7 (contrary to the internet saying 9 pm). Fire alarm also went off while getting ice, had to walk out of building and stand in parking lot. Also, none of their vending machines were up and running despite appearing otherwise, and had no body wash in the bathroom. Either bring your own soap or use the bar of hand soap on the counter to wash up. Lastly, the waterpark is small and underwhelming, to say the least. If you like big slides, there's only one, so don't have high expectations. Would not recommend staying here. Probably going to stay at the casino the entire time if/when we return. read more

My friend and I had an unacceptable stay here on 12/20/25. There was a laundry list of issues we had with both the room condition and the restaurant. I submitted the survey they emailed me with specifics to that effect and received this response: " Thank you for filling out our survey! We're sorry you had a poor experience and that you waited a long time in the restaurant. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us." first of all the Waterpark is fairly expensive for what it is. the room smelled musty and the beds are super hard. in the Waterpark I witnessed life guards yelling at kids for being kids in the water, splashing around having fun. in the Waterpark area there is an eatery in which we tried twice to get ice cream and both times waited over 10 minutes for someone to come to the counter. this place was an absolute nightmare for my son's birthday. all they care about is your money. read more

I used the hotel pool in the back for $5. The pool was disgustingly dirty. The pool had not been thoroughly cleaned in years. There was dirt and mold at the bottom of pool and hot tub. I did several swimming laps and swam to the bottom of the surface. The steam room was broken, l would expected a clean pool when l entered it. I contacted the front desk regarding this matter, they offered to refund my money. I had already used it. I definitely needed a shower after leaving the facility. I will not be back. read more

We had no hot water was told maybe the pipes were frozen so we went to the pool area to try to shower there and our keys would not work so had to go back to front desk after all this we are cleaning up to go home and found dirty men's navy underwear again said something to front desk and said it would be addressed to house cleaning .Everything is was explained to front desk and about issues and nothing was done , and the beds were like dorm room beds not as comfortable. Okay I've had time to think about this post. Yesterday November 8th Alexsis 12th birthday and Kaitlyns 18th birthday was supposed to be a day of celebration at Soaring Eagle Water Park and unfortunately due to a known preexisting infestation of "wood roaches" our group of 12 was misplaced. I rented 3 rooms at Soaring Eagle Water Park and all 3 rooms were infact infested with bugs. My mother in law had to use the restroom right when she got into the hotel room and was mortified to find them crawling all over the bathroom. I genuinely thought theirs no way until I walked in and saw them for myself coming in and out of the vents, walls and dead in the bathtub and floor. We immediately told everyone to pack their stuff right back up on the cart. We called multiple times to the front desk. We went down multiple times to show them the videos of them crawling everywhere and they still had us wait over 40 minutes in the hallway with our luggage so that the very kind and empathetic Mangaer of house keeping could confirm their were bugs in all of our rooms. Shawn found the babies all in our room and the adult ones crawling up our doors. All of our children were a mess. Especially Alexsis who is absolutely terrified of anything like that. Finally after 40 plus minutes of waiting the house keeping manager came up and did confirm they were in fact roaches and took us down to see how she could help us. She informed us she was getting the general manager to see what she could do and agreed this was absolutely unacceptable. We waited for some more time to pass and the GM came to inform us that this has been an on going issue and that our room was not infested with chocroaches but with "wood roaches" that they are not the same. That theirs nothing pest control could do. They knowingly sold rooms with the roach infestation. She was not at all empathetic knowing the size of our group and what were celebrating. It breaks my heart that both of my girls will remember their birthdays like this. To make matters worse the GM printed off a piece of paper to passively aggressively give to another employee to give to the house keeping manager to give to us. Im all about the good vibes and energies in the universe but how could someone come off so rude, unpleasant and not empathetic when their job is hospitality? My 12 year was literally crying in the background and this lady completely dismissed all of our feelings. She first offered to move our rooms from the 3rd floor to rooms that were possibly not infested. Our whole group was adamant that we needed to stay somewhere else being we were over an hour and a half away from home and it was getting late. We finally were able to get 3 rooms at the actual casino that they comped for the night and refunded me for our stay at the Waterpark. By the time we packed up and unpacked at the other hotel we had time to get the kids something to eat and give Kaitlyn an hour of casino time. Going to the water park was ruined even tho at that point nobody wanted to go back into the building. Im very glad a lot of people have not had this experience when visiting this establishment unfortunately this was ours. read more

Worst experience ever. Hotel is old and rundown, in desperate need of an upgrade. Only stayed here because the casino resort was full. Got to our room and the temp was 85 degrees. After 2 hours we couldnt get it to go down. Called the desk and was put on hold for 28 mins. When someone finally answered her response was "We're very busy and will send someone when we can," and hung up on us. I was able to walk around and finally track down a manager. She was the only helpful person in this entire horrible time. The maintenance man came and had to change out the entire system as we sat there sweating. Pulled out the dusty, disgusting air filter but at least he changed it. Got back from the casino and now the TV doesnt work. Called the dreaded front desk again and the response was, "sometimes that happens." Again, no offer to assist, fix it, etc. It was 3am, we packed our bags and drove two hours home. Couldnt take another minute in this dilapidated, no customer service, "hotel" that is charging $250 for you to be miserable. So, first I went into the restaurant and the food took an hour to get there, kids were screaming. We finally got the food and it was probably the worst food I've ever had. We tried to get cookies from room service, they didn't even get down here! we finally called back and they said,"Oh yeah, sorry we are out of sugar cookies, if you wanna run down here you can." You ran out of sugar cookies and didn't tell us! Wow, just take my $11! Honestly the cookies were really good though. The next day I woke up with a rash on my arm that I had not the day before. A couple hours later we went to the vending machine and TRIED to get a Gatorade! But, when we pressed E8, it moved the grabber to the one just left of the Gatorade! And it didn't even grab E7! The majority of non-management staff do an excellent job at making customers feel welcome. The waterpark is small, but the main attraction (indoor surfing on the FlowRider) makes it a worth while trip. But, here in lies the problem - it's the first attraction they close when "understaffed". Many come primarily for this ride, and it is very frequently closed for the majority of the day. Not due to maintenance, but due to poor planning by management. While they allow you to go to the park after checkout, checkout is an hour before the park opens!! People are all standing around waiting to get in. They clearly do not listen to customer feedback. Leaders at this establishment clearly do not care about continuous improvement or customer experience. We've gone many times, but after our last experience - it is probably the last time. read more

So not worth $190 a night, the rooms have stains on the walls, ceilings, bedding, toilet seat was about to fall off and discolored. Shower head had so much build up, the sink took forever to drain as well as the shower. The hotel itself looks good until you get to your room. This place is very outdated and in dire needs of a remodel ASAP. These rooms should be $99 a night, we've been to every water park in Michigan (I kid you not) and this by far is the biggest disappointment so far. This is a place for kids 10 and younger as long as you know that going in and your standards are on the lower side you'll be fine. Our family needed a vacation, but we were short on time and couldn't travel south. We had been to Great Wolf Lodge in the past and really enjoyed it, but it was closed for the time we wanted to visit. Fortunately I saw an ad for Soaring Eagle Waterpark so we decided to give it a try. There really wasn't a clear way to get a feel for the size of the park on the website as there wasn't a video walkthrough or a clear map that I could find. We went and hoped for the best. Ultimately, it was ok. The room was pretty clean but some crumbs and evidence of past guests were visible. The lobby was pretty consistently wet due to dripping guests and snow being tracked in. The actual waterpark is much smaller than Great Wolf. The footprint might be almost comparable, but the actual activities are mostly intended for small children (only 2 big slides). Oh, and the workout facility was very hard to find and laughable at best. The kids (5 and 6) had a pretty good time, but Mom and Dad were left wanting more. On a positive tone, the staff were all kind and helpful. Unfortunately, we won't be back, but this place has a niche for little little kids. read more

As much as I have enjoyed my family this trip I would think twice about coming here again. The good- comfortable enough beds, a couple fun slides for big kids, nice lazy river and decently clean rooms (we had a suite with king bed in one room and pull out couch in the other, 1.5 bath) The bad- the food at breakfast was pretty terrible (eggs were still raw in my omelette, which the waitress was nice about thankfully). They do not provide pool towels for guests staying. We asked to have our room tidied as we were leaving for a couple hours and the housekeeper said she was off in 45 mins and didn't have time. Very little amenities for toddlers who also have to wear life jackets in the water park pool even though I'm holding her. Weirdly enough they have lifeguards all over but are often chatting away not watching what's going on while others are diligently making sure you don't go in the exit area. (Not kidding, one of the supervisors through a fake baby into the pool and the lifeguard missed it. (Is that horrifying they missed the baby or good that they're testing?!?! So weird!!)) The water in the play area is freezing so no my toddler was not excited to play in it. Lastly I called down to ask if the front desk could call the room above me for sounding like a herd of elephants and she said quiet time starts at 11 and to call then. They literally kept us up till 11:30 last night jumping around or whatever! So maybe my fault for having a small child or the hotels fault for having thin walls (not even just a "courtesy" call upstairs) or just the inconsiderate group above us. No matter, I prefer to be in a place where my babe can sleep and get decent food. Also I forgot. They don't have any sort of fitness equipment which was a bummer because I would have loved to get away for an hour to work out. Anyway come at your own risk. I found the waterpark to be disappointing. Has 2 slides, hot tub, pool with lily pads and basketball nets, a tree fort, lazy river, and wave simulator. We enjoyed the park. My two year old had a blast running around and playing. We didn't have a problem with the park itself it was the staff. The lifeguards are supposed to make parents feel safe with their kids being watched, but that's not what we got here. The lifeguards were barely paying any attention to their area of water. Not all of them were this way, but enough for me and my fiance to notice. We came here on Sunday from 1030am till 630pm. There were two lifeguards in particular that really caught my attention. The girl who worked the flow rider (she was wearing an attendant shirt) and the lifeguard that was working the lazyriver next to her. They were constantly talking, she didn't pay attention to flow rider and the kids, and he had his back to the water about the entire time talking to her, not even looking at his water. Then the problem was flow rider itself, too. They closed the flow rider down about 615ish give or take, and there was maybe 6 of us waiting to ride still and told us that they were closing it early, they wouldn't even let us ride after we waited about 15 or 20min for our turns. I was not the only one who was upset about this. They even made a little girl cry because it was finally her turn, and they wouldn't even let her go. I don't think we will be back. read more

I really enjoyed my stay, had a training session at the Soaring Eagle Casino but there wasn't any available rooms so the nice young man booked me a room at the water park. I didn't use the water park but I did use the world pool and I loved it. My room was excellent and breakfast was wonderful. You could tell it was made with love and pride. Sorry I started eating before taking the photo's but it was so good. Thank you for a wonderful experience and if I should ever need a place to stay in Mt. Pleasant I'll be sure to return and also recommend this hotel to friends. Ps. Compared to other hotels with water parks his one is very tiny. The waterpark doesn't open u til 10 am so we are using the hotel pool in the morning (since kids are up at 7 ready to swim). The floor of the waterpark seemed pretty gross to me. Looked like they needed to drain the pools and wash the floor. There isn't much in the waterpark for those middle kids- my kids are 6 and 4 and they enjoyed the small slides. But for someone who may want a bigger slide you can't until you are 48 inches tall. Lazy river was nice. New interactive slide is neat- you go on a raft into like a swirling area where there's LED lights and it's pretty cool to see! Hotel storytime was lame- didn't keep my kids interest as it was a clay lady telling a Native American tale and no emotions really. Gift shop is tiny. Kids arcade is tiny. Can't spend more than a few minutes in there. read more

There's a rock wall over a pool in the corner. My son (15) goes to climb up and slips and bruises his ribs because the rock you step on is completely loose and spinning. I say something to the lifeguard on the area and he just shrugs his shoulders at me. So I walk over to the lifeguard office and the little manager says they told maintenance weeks ago but It hasn't been fixed and there's nothing she can do. So I go track down the actual manager for the park today. We sit down and she's very apologetic and nice and gives me the card to the maintenance manager to call tomorrow. She says she will get it closed down and what a huge liability. 45 minutes later, after other kids used it, the lifeguard manager and another lifeguard come over to it. They write "Do Not Use" on masking tape and put it across not one, but 3 of the rocks and KEEP IT OPEN! Meaning that at least 3 of the 12 or so are broken and dangerous. Are we supposed to believe you keep everything else safe? We have been to every park in Michigan and Ohio and this one is the least impressive and very poorly kept! They are owned/operated by an Indian reservation and are not governed by any federal safety guidelines. This explains a lot. DO NOT RECOMMEND! read more

2017-12-02. The Soaring Eagle Properties consists of three different sites all clustered together within a couple of miles. The epicenter of the place is no doubt the Casino Resort fully equipped to handle concerts and pamper it's guests with day spas and shopping. Of course there's also the casino itself which is what they're hoping everyone partakes in. The second property is a set of Green Suites, which equates to nothing more than lodging with no facilities or amenities onsite. This lower rent district is frequented by the younger crowd who only need a place to lay their heads after a night of heavy partying. Or it could be for the budget minded patron, but I would like to warn you that this residence does tend to get loud, especially at night. If you are travelling with family and/or young ones, then the Soaring Eagle Water Park is probably where you're going to want to be staying. Booking here does include water park passes for the day of check in and check out. Additional passes can be purchased, but they're costly at close to 30 bucks on weekends. If you're looking to get day passes for 2 or more guests (like grand parents), you may want to consider a second room (28pp for 2 days = 112 bucks, and a room can be anywhere from $80-$150 depending on the season). Free shuttles between the properties run day and night and are about 10-15 minutes apart during busy times and as far apart as 20-30 minutes in the wee hours. The water park has all your basics covered. A central area has a multi-level structure that has water guns to shoot at those below, with water slides to get you down and topped with a ginormous water bucket that tips about every 5 mins. A lazy river, lily pads with ropes overhead, basketball hoops, a surf zone, a rock wall, a couple of larger tube slides, and a hot tub (adults only) round out the fun. The hotel has a arcade as well a teen lounge and a restaurant. By pure chance, that the night we stayed was their tree lighting ceremony day. They had a party to kick off the season, and had both free food and entertainment. The rooms were older, but they were kept clean and we had no issues with anything. They have two elevators, one at each end, so service is slow naturally. Overall, the place can't compete with the likes of the giants like Kalahari or Cedar Point, but I can see Soaring Eagle being considered as a contender against Great Wolf Lodge. In my opinion, they're priced right for what they're offering. Fair value for fair facilities, and they're decent. 3,5 stars.
