I've been to SobeKick a bunch of times using ClassPass. They charge a low number of credits in relation to the other gyms in the same Sunset Harbor area! I've gone mostly for the Abs and Ass classes, but most recently, I went for a Sweat Box class. Parking is usually tolerable with street parking spots available, and there is also a public parking lot by the waterfront. I think they do rent boxing gloves and hand wraps, but of course, I recommend bringing your own whenever possible. They do not have towels, especially with the COVID-19 pandemic, so make sure to bring your own, because you will need it! They have a smoothie bar right when you walk in if you want to treat yourself to a smoothie or bowl after the workout. For the Abs and Ass class, if Ella is teaching, definitely take a class with her, because not only does she have a body that everyone wants (lean, muscular, toned), she sounds sweet and leads a mean, nonstop workout. You're working out in the same space as the boxing bags, so you're moving up and down next to the lines of bags. You could be going from walking lunges to weighted plie squats to burpees to supine leg lifts to one legged deadlifts to mountain climbers to plank jacks to jump squats and back all over again and again. Feeling tired? The workout is definitely worth the drop in. You feel like you conquered the world afterwards, and your abs, butt and thighs will feel the burn the next day! The Sweat Box class with Azea is also baller. He starts off with body weight exercises like squats, pushups, moutain climbers and situps and has a jump rope session in between each round. The classes are big, so don't expect to get attention from the instructor all the time during the boxing portion. He builds on combinations, so make sure to have the first sequence down before adding on and getting cocky. The bags are tall to the floor and great to wail on. There's a mirror in the front and back of the room, so you can watch the instructor demonstrate, get a glimpse of yourself hustling and observe the social media lifers tab bags and take selfies in between the rounds. (I do get reminded that I'm in South Beach.) There is a good amount of wear on the gym, which you can occasionally smell as well. If you don't mind that and actually want a place to get in some serious boxing, it is a good gym to go to! Give it a try! read more

I got ringworm from this gym. They do not clean or sanitize between sessions. I noticed puddles of sweat on the mats everywhere & the classes just continue without cleaning & disinfecting. We did some workouts on the floor & it slipped my mind to skip those because of how unsanitary they clearly are. The instructors were cool though :-/ read more

I came across SobeKick on ClassPass as I was looking for a boxing studio in a nearby neighborhood and loved that SobeKick didn't charge a lot of credits on average for their classes. SobeKick is located off West Avenue in South Beach, about a block away from the Sunset Harbor main section of shops/restaurants. SobeKick is located on the same block as the Fresh Market (one or two businesses away from Fresh Market). For parking, I didn't see anything on Yelp or on their website about how to handle parking. I couldn't find street parking nearby, so I parked in the Sunset Harbor garage a block away (the Miami Beach city garage). The garage parking was $2 per hour. One of the employees at SobeKick said most of their clients park at the Fresh Market garage (but I saw excessive signs saying Fresh Market customers only, and I also saw a garage attendant monitoring as well - so I wouldn't recommend parking there.) I came to a 12 PM Pylo-Box class with Azea, and when I entered the studio (on the 2nd floor), I was greeted by an employee who encouraged me to use the foot wash station, and then he took my temperature, and then proceeded with checking me in. The employee was very nice and welcoming, and also provided me with a loaner set of boxing gloves. I then waited in the juice/coffee bar area for my class to start. Most other class attendees came in with a mask, and as soon as they got to the workout area, everyone including the instructor took their mask off. I kept my mask on, because I didn't feel safe in the studio with the lack of mask use. However, in regards to the class, Azea was a phenomenal instructor and despite the class having 10 or so people in it, he came through and helped you with your boxing form and had you sweating the whole time! For the entire 60 minutes, you were working your butt off, and I definitely felt it at the end. I would probably come back to the studio when COVID settles down a little, but probably won't come back before then. read more

This website has been billing my mother $14.95 a month for over a year and a half under the name SUPPORT. The phone # they list 305-397-8484 never answers and they never return our calls. I need someone from there to call me back at 562-667-7766 to return our call and let us know how/when SobeKick.com got my mothers credit card and to discuss getting a refund for this service we have not used. If she in fact got signed up for this through an affiliate somehow, that is ok too. We just need someone there to actually answer the phone and help us figure out if this is legit or fraud. read more

First the website makes you think you can attend a live class (via the web). If you can, i have yet to figure it out bc their website sux. Now if you want to watch previously recorded on-demand classes, then this is the site for you, but NO LIVE CLASSES. Also, they have recently redone their website & now the choice to view your subscription is gone, which means I can't cancel. You can try calling but that's a waste of time bc no one EVER answers. You can also forget about hitting them up via their social accts bc they are also poor at checking that. I honestly think this must be a scam. Very disappointed. read more

Thomas is an awesome instructor and a great motivator for a solid workout-- most people prefer to go in and SWEAT and MOVE for the entire class! Personal Training is also available with Thomas at Sobe Kick- the time and effort is well worth it!! The owner is always at the gym and it's always nice to meet new people in class. I thought all boxing gyms were the same and I was ready for a little bootcamp with some boxing sequences at the end... nope! The bootcamp part was INTENSE!! Like I actually got a workout! (I always hate bootcamp bc it doesn't challenge me) but wow. I was shaking trying to hold the planks and my legs were feeling it on those squat jumps. And the boxing was more thab half the class and it was serious! Multiple rounds of different sequences and a lot of motivation! Not only are the instructors awesome but the class is so huge you feel motivated to keep going! ANNND you're live on the Sobekick online classes that stream into gyms and people's homes, so you gotta show off a little ;) Overall it's an awesome gym and everyone is incredibly friendly. It seems like all the regulars know each other and the owners and management team know everyone on a first name basis. I can't say enough great things about Sobe kick! read more

I have been here twice now and as much as I feel exhausted after the class, I would come back. I used class pass to attend the class. Did I fit in? Definitely not but had a fun. The workout is 1 hour long and it consist of half of the time warming up with mix workout and the second half is punching the bag. The music is upbeat and the A/C works very well. Tip: take at your own pace, don't try to copy the rest if you are new to it. read more

This place is amazing. I've tried a bunch of different classes but my favorite is the one with Danny at 730 pm. Not too many people and he's always pumped and ready to go! He's knowledgeable and always asks if anyone has injuries or concerns and encourages people to do the best to their abilities. It's awesome to see a trainer that's so encouraging and eager. His work outs are not only fun but always energetic and very intense. There is parking available one street over at a really decent price and the area is so nice to walk around. This spot is one of the coolest in Miami. Friendly staff, well-equipped, and of course, great classes! So far there have been some flaws for me that would not let me get more than my 1 month that I got on my living social deal. They are: Not enough equipment. Ive gone to two classes and both times I didnt get a jump rope or medicine ball. You should have more than JUST enough. Annoying. The set up of where the instructors are. Very very obstructed. Are the classes great and tough? Yes. They'll make you a sweaty mess. Are they REALLY teaching you how to box or kickbox? No. Which isnt a deal breaker but something people should know. I came here for a week straight with the free week pass and absolutely loved it. The staff was very friendly and helpful wrapping hands and prepping everyone for classes. The instructors were extremely knowledgeable and were able to create an intense and fun workout without lack of skill being a barrier. Every time I had an instructor help me with an exercise I didn't know how to do I felt comfortable as opposed to embarrassed and enjoyed the learning experience. The workouts were phenomenal. I was dripping sweat head to toe by the end of every single one. My Nike dryfit was soaked to the point it was dripping sweat for me leaving me tired and feeling accomplished after every workout. There is a community atmosphere at this gym, I was known by my first name after two visits which meant a lot. I plan on joining and attending more classes soon. read more

Sobekick is the real deal. I bought a Living Social coupon (I opted for the 5 classes for $25 since I live in Broward...80% off normal). I attended the Monday night kickboxing conditioning class and it was as good of a workout that I could've hoped for. I'm pretty sure almost every muscle in my body was worked out at some point and it was a lot of fun. Although this class is not for the weak hearted, you can definitely get through it with some modifications, if necessary. The staff was delightful and I'm looking forward to attending classes in the coming weeks. Tips: Be sure to bring change for the parking meters on the street. Also, bring $1 for hand wrap rentals (if you don't already have your own) or you can buy them for $8. Oh, and bring water and a towel. read more

Happy to report that Sobekick is still my haven. It's my "Cheers"!! In fact, it's via one of the Sobekick Yoga instructors, that I found a separate Prenatal Yoga class which was amazing and connected me with folks who are now my friends. I dig Sobekick for lots of reasons. So, gimme some love for taking my new mom, fulltime nursing self back to Kickbox class!! Baby is 14 weeks old, but I had to stop high impact work outs at 16 weeks of pregnancy. So today was my first day back in SEVEN MONTHS, Yelp family!! As always I was greeted warmly by Johnny. It was as if I had been there the day before. He was great about getting me back into the computer system and back into my groove. The gym looked great and clean as always. Today's class was taught by a trainer I hadn't met before...nice guy and patient with his sluggish Saturday afternoon class. My arse got good and properly kicked! Classes continue to be a serious challenge! FYI-as I mentioned earlier, I was going to classes up until my 16th week of pregnancy. Every trainer was awesome and supportive and super encouraging. On demand classes are excellent. However, don't expect good customer service for equipment problems. After spending close to $1000.00 on equipment, I have received the wrong gloves, no jump ropes and now the bag has leaked water all over my workout space floor. After bugging customer service for weeks finally they were "kind" enough to send me what I ordered. Unfortunately, no response for leaking bag which is useless unless you can fill. So, beware because customer service is only responsive when they are seeking out positive comments and absent when there are problems. read more

I bought their livingsocial deal just to try it out and see what happened. To be honest I expected the typical sobe gym. I was wrong!!! My first class was abs and butts with Ella, and I was hooked. She made work my ass out. That day I knew I was going to stay there. The place is so clean, instructors are amazing (Leo, Luis and Ella are the ones I've taken classes with) Love them :D classes are fun, people are great, the energy is awesome. Sobekick is hidden in the back of warehouse district off of West Ave. I purchased their LivingSocial deal for unlimited classes for a month, and I love it! The classes are fun, fast paced (you're never bored doing the same routine) and the instructors are wonderful. I tried almost every class they offer and have enjoyed them all! I especially like the Muay Thai and Kickbox Conditioning. They are a combination of cardio, light weights, jump roping, medicine balls, boxing and kicking. I come from a MMA (mixed martial arts background) and really enjoyed retraining my muscles -- it's also great for beginners. The gym is always clean and the owners are super friendly and helpful! I love the classes, very intense. But the problems with the A/C is so annoying. I feel like they just ignore you. Coaches pretend they dont even know what is going on or they dont know how to use A/C, lol, really? You work at this place and you dont know how to control the A/C. C'mon! asked many times about that problem and expected it to be fix- nothing. So many people complaining about the same issue. I think it is N1 thing at the GYM that has to be working perfectly! A friend talked me in to trying a free class. One hour "Boxercise". I had been going to a gym 3 times a week but apparently not pushing myself as hard as a should have. Thirty minutes in to the 60 minute Boxercise class I had to sit down. Intense workout. An hour later I was feeling energized and wanted more. The following day, every part of me ached, didn't know I had muscles in some of those places. Luis & Johnny made me feel welcome, and give a lot of positive reinforcement. I ended up signing up for 30-minute private sessions with Luis to help me get in shape and better fit for the classes. I can say that I am not someone who has ever enjoyed working out or exercise for fitness sake... now I look forward to my sessions and they seam to go by so fast. I signed up here about 2 - 3 months ago and go about 5-6 times a week , since I've started I've lost 15 pounds! These trainers kick butt! The classes make you sweat and push you to your limits, since I've started I've also learned how to punch a bag correctly; no they don't actually 'teach' boxing in the class but if you ask any of the trainers for help after or before the class everyone is happy to help. I am thrilled to have found this jewel of a gym in South Beach. In just a few weeks I am already seeing changes in my body, energy level, and mood! The classes are challenging but fun, the instructors and staff are incredibly professional, and the facility has a great vibe (not to mention spotless... Well deserved 5 stars. They have awesome instructors: energetic & fun. If they see you doing something terribly wrong, they will coach you on the spot. They have a great selection of music that will get you hyped up while working out. It is a good way to lose weight and learn to punch and kick correctly. There are different classes and styles incorporated into the 1 hour sessions. They have cardio-boxing, kickboxing, plyometrics-boxing, abs & butts. They sell gloves and wraps for a competitive price compared to Sports authority. If you are wondering if you can do it, give it a try! If it gets too intense, modify the exercises you find troublesome and keep it moving. You will have a great time, I promise! You will get your shirt drenched so bring a towel and water! You can park at the meters in front of the building or at the public garages nearby. It is clean, they have plenty of bags and equipment for a packed class. Sometimes you may not get a mat, but whatever. Some people do yoga for stress relief, I believe punching the bag with all of your energy is much better! ;) read more
