I would not recommend this business for families looking for diligent, caring, and empathetic cremation services for their loved ones. Most of the staff that we interacted with were not friendly and acted like we were an inconvenience when asking questions about the cremation process and status of our loved one. They also did not provide our family with frequent updates about what was going on with our loved one. And whoever answers the phones at this establishment should not be the first person that families are required to interact with, as she is unfriendly, and abrupt(I couldn't get a full sentence out without her cutting me short). When we tried to express our grievances with a counselor, he did not address our concerns or care to speak to them at all. I have unfortunately had a handful of close loved ones pass away in the last five years and this is by far the worst service I have used, I would not use this business again. STILL NO DEATH CERTIFICATES! Mom passed at the end of April. Today is June 12. I was told by Lewis that certificates had been mailed but still nothing. Nothing. Now they may have to reorder from the County. That could take another 2 weeks. I cannot close out mom's accounts without them! They may be very cost effective but you'll pay extra in other ways. I don't like to complain, especially during a time of deep grief, but I feel it is important for future suffering families. Veronica Marquez made five separate errors on our paperwork causing over two weeks of delay, including the date of my ex-husband's death. I ordered his cremated remains to be divided in half and mailed to his sister in Dallas and the other half to me. All of his remains were delivered to their office for me to pick up. She had no empathy to the situation nor did she try to remedy it. I specifically asked to be the point-of-contact because his sister is in the hospital battling leukemia, but she continually contacted her and not me and then she informed me that she'd lost my phone number. We're all human and mistakes are normal, but the amount of errors and the disregard for the gravity of this situation left me feeling much worse than I already did. I truly hope this doesn't happen to another family going through loss. When I picked up his cremains, Miguel was incredible. So kind and compassionate and he explained everything thoroughly. I left feeling so much better and like someone had finally been empathetic to the fact that I'm dealing with a huge loss. Miguel brought one star up to two. The company was very disorganized and kept making promises about time frame for my father's ashes. They did not return his gold wedding band as we requested. They made a typo on her name on the death certificate, so it had to be resubmitted, and took many phone calls and emails to finally have the remains cremated, only 2 days before we had the burial at sea (over a month of time). At pick up I knocked on the door as the sign said to do, I was not greeted just stared at and I said I was there to pick up my fathers cremains, her response was "name" and she closed the door and when she returned she handed me the cremains and said sign here with no other comment. Not only did the process take longer than they said it would but the whole experience could have been gentler, kinder...it just takes kindness. My emails did not receive responses either. My Aunt passed away on January 15th of this year. She was just buried today. It took them over a month to get her buried because they allowed an outside entity who wasn't related to her come in and claim they were next of kin without checking facts. No service was had for her even though they knew we wanted one. They just put her in the ground and expected us to pay them. DO NOT use them. Had they done their jobs in the first place we would have more than a damn plaque. We would have been able to say our final goodbyes.
