This is a super responsive, reliable and friendly location. My father passed away in Oct. i needed a mortuary and i found Angeleno on Yelp. I spoke to Gio. he was so helpful and explained everything prior to booking location. When we made decision to proceed Gio was always emailing back and forth and answering all questions and concerns. We waited an hour There was no direction from staff, priest showed up next door and left we waited again then finally showed up 1/2 hour late by this time it was almost two hours there was man very rude to my daughter arguing with her very unprofessional so basically the use of facility was all we got and the priest that showed up late my cousin read scripture and I went up to speak - your better off having a memorial at your own home they did a number on my poor mother who had to paid way too much for services not rendered i would not recommend at this time i hope the owner can improve this read more

They will intimidate you, threaten you and then charge you more $$$ than what they originally told you. Unfortunately for us, we found ourselves in need of this service. Fortunately for us, we met CONNIE LOPEZ with Angeleno Mortuary in Van Nuys in the process. My father passed away last weekend and with the exception of having already purchased plots in advance, we were completely unprepared. Having no plans in place for viewing and burial services and the dozens of other details that I didn't realize existed we were completely overwhelmed. But Connie - with all of our questions, concerns and back-and-forths with decision making - never once made us feel like we were taking up too much of her time. She was a complete professional but what sets her apart is that although this is her profession, she was genuine, warm and extremely empathetic throughout the entire process. Unfortunately, the communication wasn't well communicated. We had a video to install on their screen and we came early to test it out and it was good. The day for the event, the video wasn't working on their TV. We brought a flash drive and their technology was outdated. It was unfortunate to see the beautiful photos we had to present. I would suggest they upgrade their technology and especially mostly everyone has iPhone. They gave up on us because unfortunately the video needed to be brought 48 hours and that wasn't communicated to us. They need better communication and what's exactly is required for a video. read more

I thought about my families experience and how much easier and how sensitive we were treated and hard work deserves some praise so here I go! We came here for my husbands uncles viewing and my uncle as well . The staff here was very professional and courteous. They were extremely comforting in a time of distress. Dying isn't something anyone takes lightly. They have a big open area in which you can have coffee and whatever else snacks you bring. The bathrooms are WC accessible and clean. The parking lot is small but plenty of parking surrounding it. The price is fair and they work with you on payments. This place is great and affordable. read more

Connie is an Angel! My father in law passed on March 17,2020 due to a heart attack. We came to this funeral home after having a horrible experience at the funeral next door to them. Connie walked us through every single step she explained everything single paperwork to us. They recovered my father in laws body from the other funeral home so fast. Angeleno was recommended to me when I was planning for my loved one's death. This was back in 2009 but I wasn't yelping back then. I do want to say the female that helped me plan all the necessary arrangements was sincere and willing to make it a smooth process. She let me know what to expect when the day came that I had to make that call for them to pick up the body. Once that called was made they arrived within an hour and handled the body with respect. Prior to the passing of my loved one, I had to select a coffin that would fit FFA regulations since the burial would occur in another country. They took care of booking the plane ticket for the body and connecting with the funeral service over there so they could receive the body when it arrived. Angelenos was not pushy by trying to sell me a coffin I didn't need. I went with the most basic coffin that would be permitted for travel. When I quoted what Angeleno did for me with other places those places quoted me THOUSANDS more. I'm not saying Angelenos is the "cheaper" option but they were up front by making sure they can handle what I wanted and needed. We used their space for a service prior to departure. It was very welcoming and inviting. We set up food and drinks behind the glass partition and the staff was accommodating. The body was prepped without looking forced in the outfit of my loved one's selection. All in all....I hope they have maintained their same level of compassion and professionalism. I have recommended this place & when needed I have no problems using them again. read more
