We've had a great experience with SoCal Elite Soccer Club. I currently have two boys playing with the club, and it has been nothing but positive for our family. The coaches are supportive, knowledgeable, and truly care about the development of the players both on and off the field. The training environment is competitive but also encouraging, which has helped my boys grow in their skills, confidence, and love for the game. Communication from the club has been clear, and the overall organization has been great. Most importantly, my kids are happy, motivated, and excited to go to practice and games. We're very grateful to be part of such a positive soccer community and look forward to many more seasons with the club! read more

I wish that I could give them a better review, but hopefully someone will read this and learn from it. Last year was a disaster to be honest. First off, the times of the practice and where the practice was held was constantly changing, making scheduling difficult. This also applied to games. We missed tournaments due to being banned (SocalFC) which I never knew. Second, they nickel and dime you for every single thing. The also made us sell raffle tickets (which is fine) but they gave us 6 days to sell the whole thing or threatened to be kicked out of the club. Furthermore, they never announced the winners of the raffle which is extremely shady... nobody got a link to the LIVE youtube drawings that were said to take place. I don't like when coaches play favorites, which happened every time game or practice. My son became a favorite, after half the season and he finally gave him playing time and saw his potential, however, I was already jaded from seeing the same thing every game. We lost almost every game, which sucked too. I felt bad for the kids. Bottom line, overpriced, unorganized and weak. read more

Please parents don't sign up your kids. This is one of the worst league ever. David is after your money only! He will scam you for every penny. There is so much to say about this league I don't know where to began. They are banned from socal tournaments, they won't play your kids unless they are up to the coaches standard. When I emailed to cancel I was told by David I can't cancel and stop payments because I'm under a contact with them??? Don't sign up parents, please read yelp reviews and google reviews. This club is banned from the soccer league for club soccer teams in SoCal, so the director made his own league because the club is big enough with enough teams. So when you sign your kid up for this club, you're basically putting them in an AYSO-type league where they play the same three or four teams over and over agin. It's also a very money hungry club so buyer beware. Not a true club soccer experience if you ask me. A bunch of teams from different regions recently left this club to join another club. read more

Please listen to the other reviews, explaining these guys are anything, but elite. I had a very disappointing experience with SoCal Elite. Communication and professionalism were completely lacking. After being invited for my son to join, the coach sent us a schedule but never clearly confirmed which team he would be placed on. I texted him directly to confirm the times, but he never responded. Assuming everything was correct, we showed up, only to later find out that he had been placed with a different city's group. When I tried to get clarification, my texts were ignored and multiple phone calls went unanswered. The coach eventually said he would contact me with proper details for the following week, but again, he never had the courtesy to text, call, or follow up in any way. For a youth academy, clear communication with families should be the bare minimum. Instead, I felt completely left in the dark, with no support and no accountability. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend SoCal Elite. Coach David O if you are reading this. You know, that you need to do better. read more

I don't recommend this club at all. I have sent multiple emails, texts, and one phone call in regards to safety concerns for my child. No three year old should be going against and being pushed by a 6 year old. David the director has been saying he will get back to me but hasn't yet. This club is banned from participating in Socal league. Instead they participate in SWSL, which has extremely low participation resulting in unbalanced brackets with very unevenly matched teams competing. They also are routinely short referrees, yet charge for a full crew. The executive director David Oh ignores messages of member concerns, and is nearly impossible to communicate with. read more

Recently we were playing for this organization. Our kid's first soccer club and we were hesitant because of the commitment. However, we took a leap of faith and it started off ok. We expressed some of our concerns to the coach and he told us not to worry that we were in good hands. Our kid really liked the coach and the teammates. We were happy because she was. Off the bat, we had to pay many fees. We were skeptical of how much we had to pay for starting fees including $400+ for just uniforms and gear! Again, our kid was happy so we were content. Fast forward to November, we started in August, we were being charged fees for tournaments we weren't going to be a part of. It was frowned upon us when we started questioning the fees. We payed for a tournament in November that was cancelled a week before and we didn't get our money back. Not to mention we weren't even told by our coach it would be canceled! Eventually we told the coach our concerns about the money and he said we he would return it but hasn't! For the month of December, there were no practices held because of tryouts for the next season, which begins in January. We were supposed to play another tournament in December. The coach had not held any practices to prepare for this tournament. When we called to check in about the tournament or practices he told us we were off the team! He said it was because we weren't going to the tryouts so he assumed we weren't returning! He didn't bother calling or checking in with us! We had previously told him we weren't sure if we were returning due to high prices. However, we were paid to play with this team through December, paid the tournament for November and December, no practices were held and no communication from our coach. This is so petty! The worse part was having to tell our kid this! We are so disappointed in this coach and this organization for allowing coaches to do this! As of today, we haven't heard from the coach. I will post this and the coach's name if we don't hear from David Oh about our monies. I would think twice before committing to this organization! read more

This organization is dishonest and the owner does not respond to or solve problems. We signed up with the understanding our children would be on a team. While they did have practices, they were not registered in a league and did not have a single game. A number of parents contacted the owner but the owner stopped responding. They collect full money for a year on the "team". If there are no games and they're not in a league it's not a team. In addition, the members of the group we practiced with were told they would be paid for working at a tournament. Many of them did work at the tournament but they were never paid. The owner did not respond to inquiries. I highly recommend taking your child to another football club. read more

SoCal Elite is anything but "Elite". Although coach is, OK. The club is horrible. The admin, coach and team managers don't communicate. Our team manager is completely self-serving and rude. The league and tournament schedule changes daily and without commutation to players. They change our game times without notice and we've had to forfeit and pay fines. They cancel weekend tournaments constantly, even after we pay and get work off to watch our kids. The coach has missed about half of the games, including team signing day. Lastly, the practice fields are the worst around. They are full of gofer holes which present a hazard to players daily. Injuries happen constantly on the uneven surface. They'd be better off practicing in a parking lot. Go elsewhere for a decent club. read more

Joined last May and thought it was starting to become a great experience, but once official in SoCal Elite, the experience was horrible. The Coach we first had Coach Josh did not want to have my brother play any of the games they had and felt he was attacking him. We tried to communicate with him but it felt as though he was intentionally ignoring me and my family. Then, we tried to inform David Oh but that went absolutely nowhere apart from fixing an issue where someone had the exact same jersey number as my brother. Not only that, Coach Josh would soon leave SoCal Elite just to give us another Coach, only to once again be replaced with yet another Coach. While the new coach is nice and I have nothing against him, he was placed in a very bad position as Coach Josh left many things unresolved, including moving my brother down without even informing us, which felt like a final screw you. This has been one of the most dysfunctional teams I've ever seen and feels nothing more than a cash grab. read more

Joined the elite Labor Day classic this year with our club and I can tell you it's trash. Their own team didn't show up to play their own game. So if you are a team where you like to use older players than what your age group is or like to borrow players from different teams to help out.... Yes even from our own team to play against us lol.... Or just to have referees just not give 2 fs. This is the tournament you want to join. Never again. read more

My Family and I are new to Southern California moving from Northern California. I was very eager to get my children back into soccer and doing a google search I found SoCal Elite. I signed up my daughter for the JR Academy, to have her continue soccer without the immediate commitment of a team while we still moved. Her first day, was the same day as the club picture day and there were so many kids on the field and only a handful of adults. Omar, the coach seemed very nervous but I felt it was natural given the picture day. I then signed up my other daughter, who is 12 for a tryout to play on their comp team. I received an official email from David Oh letting me know when she can attend. We show up, and again Omar seems very stressed and has me wait. There was no booth to check in as indicated in the email BTW. The 2013 coach comes up to me and has my daughter practice with his team. It wasn't until the end of the tryout that the 2013 coach said that the league doesn't have a 2012 girls team, and that this is their first year the club has a girls team. Why even advertise it a team that doesn't exist?!? Why would I waste my daughters time. He was very nice and told me to bring her back to practice anytime but she could not be in the team. The following Monday, my daughter had the Jr Academy and we show up and apparently the time changed and I didn't know. He placed her to play with the 5 year olds and my 9 year old felt really embarrassed and so we left. They have really really poor communication and the kids outnumber the coaches tenfold. Which explains why, Omar seems very nervous and stressed. I contacted David and let him know I was very disappointed...like come on guys I am a clean slate! I have no knowledge of the teams down here get it right. I requested a refund for the JR Academy which I still haven't received. This club is so unorganized, I would stay away. read more

He has a great relationship with all the players. The whole team accepted my son as if he played with them all season. With the short time he played with them, his skills have improved so much. *******BUYER BEWARE**** My child played on the G09 Gold U13 for 9 months. Which in this time we have not won ANY games. Not a single one in 9 months. So imo all the girls on the team are playing at or about the same level. Nobody is a star player. From the beginning the team only consisted of about 9-11 girls including my child. The kids couldn't even sub out because there weren't additional players. My child was dedicated to her development as a player and consistently showed up for practice, scrimmages and games. Although they were not winning, the coach was dedicated to player development. At least I thought. Fast forward 6-7 months ahead and we are now playing tournament games and have added a few new girls to the team. The coach now begins to bench my child and won't even allow her any playing time on the field. Saying that it is dependent upon attendance at practice.But she attends goalie training along with regular practice as instructed. The coach is unfair and creates a negative environment for his team. The numbers say it all. O-40. But the problem is more so that he picks and chooses his line up and isn't willing to make any adjustments and the whole time your team is loosing every single game they show upon to. So why not give the girls even playing time for developmental purposes and to see what works and doesn't. But he is the type of coach that treats his players as though they are expendable. Allowing children to sit on the bench game after game although they are attending practice. As a good coach he should be able to make sure that everyone has an equal opportunity to feel as though they can bring something to the team. I guess he never learned the phrase there is no 'I' in team. shameful.... He'd rather play one goalie an entire weekend while my child sits on a bench. This team is not THAT elite.... This behavior was evident when we took an hour drive and paid for a tournament in Temecula and the coach gave my child no playing time and we decided not to make the drive the next day for a 7a call. And he basically said that my daughter could just leave the team. No care at all about the player / coach relationship or the amount of money and time that we had invested into the club. We were very excited to be a part of SoCal Elite and were proud to be dedicated to the team as they were growing and thought that the coach was also dedicated to the development of my player as well. But that is not the case with this individual. And this review is to provide our experience with Coach Andy and the 2009 U14 team. read more

This is my sons first year in soccer. So far it's been going good . I'm reading through all the comments and the experience really depends on the coach you're with. We're happy with our coach which is Wagner and the ways he teaches the kids. My son looks up to his coach. I've noticed whenever there is a misunderstanding or if there's something you don't agree with it's best to talk about it with your coach and find a solution. The club overall it is a traveling team so cost can be expensive, the tuition can be paid month to month only thing you have to pay upfront is when there is a tournament fee or a referee fee. The uniform package is also expensive but it's worth the price , when I got it a year ago it was around $350 comes with a soccer backpack, uniforms have shirt, shorts, socks in both black and white, grey training shirt, and sweater this does have to be paid upfront through the soccer.com website. Apart from that package there is a black practice uniform that has to be purchased when signing up which is around $35 I believe plus the socks are $10. Shin guards and shoes are purchased wherever you like. My youngest was in the little elites which is different than being in one of the teams as it's for those who are too young to be in a competitive team, this gives them a chance to learn a bit of soccer. My youngest enjoyed it and loved going to practice every week! I've personally had a good experience with the club and will be putting my youngest when it's his time. read more

I would give this organization zero stars if I could. Do not join this team!!!! I should have heeded all the bad reviews on Yelp and google. I made a bad mistake and was fooled by what I thought was a professional looking organization. They do not care about your kid just money. And when you want to leave their team they try to hold you hostage by holding your player card and making you pay the rest of the year. My son plays soccer for 5 years and for the first time ever he said he probably shouldn't. What type of environment is that? The worst. Worst club hands down when it comes to parental and child satisfaction and support. Coaches give it their all and do what they can for team support, but don't get any help from the president David Oh. He is so "fake nice" when he wants you to sign up for the league, once he has u on the hook you'll never hear from him again and never see him either. Only players on his personal team are important to him and also the bankroll into his pocket, he makes false promises, lies to your face, takes your money, time and dedication and lines his pockets and ego. Anyway not to get into too much more detail just check out other clubs that will value your time and respect you as a person instead of treating you like a paycheck. We've payed for tournaments that were canceled 10 days prior after booking rooms taking time off work and getting things situated because the club president couldn't attend due to the birth of his child ‍ like if that's anyones problem but his, and to top it off he boldly stated there would be no refunds and roll over to another tournament which is not confirmed it's a live and learn situation for sure. I really don't care about it too much but my son does and is bummed out because he had an opportunity to play with a other club but chose to go with SoCal because most of his old teammates joined. I personally and strongly suggest trying out other clubs or academies in your area depending on your child's skills. SoCal is not "elite" and very unorganized. I hope more people can write reviews about this club so it will encourage potential customers to steer far from it. read more
