27 days with no gas…read more.. On Aug 21st I reached out to SoCal Gas and told them that I thought we had a gas leak. On Friday Aug 23rd a plumber (Angel) came out and notified us that Francesca Inc. would need to send out a plumber with a pipe finder to locate all the gas lines. Finally on Monday Aug. 26 another plumber came and located all the gas lines and detected that there was in fact an actual gas leak in our house piping...keep in mind we didn't have any gas since the 21st. (no hot showers, no stove/oven, and we couldn't use our dryer... plus, there is 6 of us and a toddler living here.) I proceeded to call Francessca, and asked what the holdup is, and she then told us that they are waiting for a dig permit from the city. I called Francessca back again on Wednesday September 4th and I was told again that they are still waiting for the "dig permit". On Monday September 9th I proceeded to call Francessca again and was told yet again that they are still waiting on that "dig permit". I was starting to stress out due to the uncertainty of when we will get our gas back. The very next day I called Francessca again and she told me yet again that they are waiting for the "dig permit". Immediately after our conversation I called the city of West Covina and was told that nothing has been requested from Francessca Inc. So, I called Francessca again and spoke to Jordan and she said they were waiting on 811 dig alert, not the city...So I called 811 dig alert and they gave me a ticket number and was issued right away. I started to feel a bit better, maybe this will finally get resolved since we are on day 21 of not having any gas. I decided to call Francessca back and again was told they are waiting for the permit from the city, yet again I called the city and was told the same thing...that they have not received anything from Francessca Inc. and nothing has been requested. I'm starting to get a little frustrated with the back and forth and no one really knowing what's going on. I called Francessca back again, for the 4th time today and I spoke with Jordan again and let her know what I was told by the city, She then tells me I must have called the wrong department. I decided to give it a rest and try again tomorrow. On the 11th I called Francessca Inc. and Jordan she told me "let me talk to my crew and see what I can do". A day later Jordan from Francessca Inc. said they will be sending a plumber out Monday Sept. 16. This is now 27 days without gas... Finally, the plumbers came out that Monday from 10:30-6 and just replaced part of the pipe. No city Inspector ever came. It was a headache all these so-called "permits" we needed and all that waiting when it could have been resolved within a day or two. I'm very disappointed in the way this was all handled. Thankfully the plumbers were very nice. The gas man Kenny came out that same day to check the pipes and to turn the gas on...He was awesome and very respectful. He also told us that he's never heard of something like this taking so long. I'm still upset with the way this was all handled. I understand that mistakes happen, but this was ridiculous. I hope big companies like this can learn from this and be better.

I have been using their water purification and filtration for a long time. Every time they call me…read moreto say that the filter needs to be replaced, I am very active in replacing it. The workers came to the door and said that some machines needed to be replaced, and I was also very active in replacing them immediately. But recently, I called on June 30th and said that the filter needed to be updated, and I immediately agreed to replace it. They came to change the filter on July 1st the next day. After replacing the filter, the worker said that if there was a problem, I would contact them. I said yes. But last night, on August 6th, I found that the bottom of the pool was leaking and the water flowed out of the cabinet. When I checked, I found that a tube of the filter was slowly dripping out little by little. I contacted them and sent them video messages, but they didn't reply to messages and calls. I called them again the next day, and a Chinese woman answered the phone. She said that there was a fee for door-to-door maintenance. I said that it was because your workers did not install it after changing the filter water, and the water was a little flow. If it didn't flow outside, it would not be found. She said it's been a month, because it didn't happen before, and they didn't tell me that there was a deadline. This Chinese woman's attitude is very unfriendly, saying that the machine is old and needs to be replaced with a new one. But the worker didn't say that he needed to replace it. Every time I replaced the filter, the worker would tell me that some of them needed to be replaced, but he didn't say it this time. Now if there is a problem, I will replace it with a new one. And this is because the workers didn't install it well when replacing the filter, so it started to drip. Then she told me that she was driving and it was inconvenient to talk. It's inconvenient to answer the phone. Why didn't you say it at the beginning? I'm waiting for their follow-up now. I'll update...

It's a SUPER nice library. Probably one of the biggest public ones I've been to that isn't a fancy…read moretourist location (think like Huntington Library) or a college one. Plenty of parking with a parking structure and under the solar panels, and it's a 2 story library too! Very nice and modern facility. Much nicer than the public libraries that I grew up with in my area (not that I have an issue with them, since they did what they needed to do in my childhood - provide lots of books and fun community events). The crazy thing is that it's an independent city library, not affiliated with LA County which is so cool too. I visited to get a library card since it's National Library Card Month and there's lots of neat deals with the city of Monterey Park for the month if you do get one and I haven't had a library card since elementary school. There's a used book store in the library with discounted books and I believe you can donate books there too, lots of variety ranging form fiction, nonfiction, manga, books in other languages, etc. This library has a lot of resources too and comfy chairs to sit in. Resources include: hot spots, Chromebooks to check out, National Park passes, lots of computers to utilize, study rooms, a 3D printer, fix it kits, Alzheimer's/Dementia Kits, there's lots of free programs for kids and teens too, you can volunteer, and there's so much more. I also loved that they had a small room with a historical display of the Cantonese pioneers and their impact on California history. Neat! Signing up for a card was super fast too, took less than 5 minutes and the designs were super cute. I got the one with the cats and other cute critters utilizing the library. The librarian was super friendly, welcoming, and informed me of all the resources and services that the library has. It's super convenient and your check outs can auto renew too for a couple times, you have access to Kanopy library videos, movies, and documentaries, there's appointment based passport renewal and much more. It's just so nice. Support literacy and libraries!

Had to make a stop here since they were giving out cute library cards. I needed it for my library…read morecard collection. The guy who helped us get our library cards was super cool. He talked to us about the craze of getting their library cards and was surprised someone posted it on Instagram, because now they are busy. The library itself was really pretty and clean. Such a great selection of books, and I kinda wish I lived closer so I could check out books. Luckily, they offer Libby, so I am able to check out audiobooks that I have on my TBR list. If I am ever in the area, now I know where I can stop to browse different books and to just study. Great library in a great location.
