I've been coming here 3 times a week for 2 months and I've just had it with their recklessness. To start, There's an abundance of staff but no one pays attention. They're usually huddled around the table having loud conversations. Never tell me how many reps I have to do, I always have to ask. Every time I'm done with a workout I have to walk over to their table and disrupt a conversation. They were talking and laughing so loud I had to yell for them to hear me and get some help. That's not even the worst part. Sam CONSISTENTLY forgets to tell me how many reps I have to do. I've asked him again and again to please tell me when my reps decrease so I don't overwork my injury. He dismissed it as "extra credit!!". Today he forgot to tell me AGAIN that my reps decreased (as they should when they give you more excersizes) and by the end of the workout I couldn't get off my table. I was in AGONIZING pain, reliving the trauma of my disk herniation 2 months ago. They're careless, lazy, and simply don't care about your well-being. I'm currently bed ridden again thanks to SoCal physical therapy. read more

After a devastating accident that left me with injuries from my neck to my knees, SOCAL PT truly gave me my life back. They all go above and beyond with their customer service and it truly gives this place such amazing energy! The physical therapists themselves are brilliant. They wrote out a program for me that was accommodating to my injuries but still progressed me out of a wheelchair and on my own two feet! My husband received physical therapy at this facility over a year ago. At the time, the front desk verified his insurance and said there may be a deductible, at which point my husband declined treatment. He received a call back the same afternoon from the office manager, Patricia, saying that they figured it out, he does not owe anything and he can begin therapy. Over a year later this company sent my husband to collections and the collection agency called Me, his wife, to inform me of this. My husbands insurance company paid all 4 claims that SoCal physical therapy billed for. They falsely misrepresented the contractual obligations of my husband and when he called Patricia, the office manager today, she told him there is nothing she can do, that they received the wrong information but somehow it's my husbands fault. This company would rather lose clients than write off $300. As someone who works in healthcare, I'm shocked to say the least. If they tell you they verified your insurance, don't be surprised when you get a bill a year later. read more

My daughter was prescribed Physical Therapy by Doctor Kantor and this SoCal PT looks like the right place with professional staff. You can get acupuncture from the licensed Acupuncturist who is also Physical Therapist. We work with Dr. McKenzie who was very knowledgeable and caring. I appreciated that so much. She was working with my daughter and she already felt better after first session. We will be going for few weeks and I look forward to more improvement for my daughter. I wrote a review yesterday after my appt with DJ but deleted it bcuz it was very emotional due to the pain I was in vs just factual. I'm rewriting my review based on MY experience so others considering this practice can decide if this is the type of service they're looking for. I had a serious auto accident on 8/18 which totaled my car. I made an appt a week in advance and made sure to tell them up front that this will be covered by my auto insurance. The night before my appt, they called to tell me they couldn't see me bcuz they don't accept my insurance. Because of my pain level and bcuz I had waited a week to get in, I agreed to pay cash and bill them myself. This was a big red flag The other items of concern were the waiting room which was standing room only, being tossed around to 5 different pa's, being rushed and feeling like just a number, without making a conscious effort to reduce my pain level. DJ called me back and after rushing through my initial evaluation, he left and pa #1 came in with instructions for a very elementary leg lift - 2 sets for 30 seconds each but instead of waiting one minute with me, he left the room. Sitting there in pain, disappointed that DJ had done so little to help me alleviate the pain and then this pa left me for what seemed like a very long time was concerning. I got up and looked outside the room to see where he went. DJ asked me what was wrong and I told him honestly that I thought he would spend more time with a new patient and that pa #1 just disappeared. He raised his voice and basically told me this is how his office works and insinuated that if I didn't like it, I didn't have to stay. He added that they give instructions to the patient and "assume they're adult enough to follow through". Lastly, he tells me they are SO busy and they're trying to treat ALL their patients. I asked if there was a better time of day to come in and he said no bcuz he was going on vacation. Then went on a tirade about him cutting his vacation short to come back and treat patients. Not to be mean but I don't need to know his personal problems .... I came in with a high level of pain and didn't feel they were giving me any real treatment to help alleviate it. I was SO frustrated and stressed out that I couldn't hold back the tears but still got no empathy. I was passed around like a football to literally 5 different pa's and ended up just feeling like a number. Especially with DJ saying they're working to treat ALL their patients at that moment which tells me they overbook and undeliver what each patient deserves ! He told me he had done 11 new evals when a standard PT only does 7 - thats where patient care is affected ... when he's rushing to get through volume vs attending to each patients individual needs. In fact pa #3 came in with a small heating pad and actually placed it on my shoe vs my shin. I honestly couldn't believe it! I had to tell her to move it up 5 inches to my shin. PA #4 came in with a large heating pad and tens unit. I told him I had just done that with my chiro 2 days ago and he told me that's what DJ told him to do. The heating pads, leg stretches and tens unit are so elementary and nothing I wasn't already doing at home. I expected the modalities he promotes on his website - I could have really benefitted from massage therapy but again, they were too busy and I left the office with absolutely no pain relief ! I highly recommend seeking another office that is not overbooked/understaffed where you'll get more personal care with someone actually dedicated to getting you out of pain! DJ has the ego of a doctor but the credentials of a physical therapist. I left that office and went straight to Valencia Sports Medicine. I asked if they have PA's dedicated to the patient for the entire visit and they said yes. I knew my expectations were not too high! read more

Clean, quiet place. Staff are nice and decently knowledgeable, but they tend to be on the safer side of your recovery. You don't spend more than 5 minutes with your actual therapist (doctor). If you're an active sports person, I wouldn't recommend this place. read more

This review is LONG overdue! I am so ever grateful for the care I was given at SoCal Physical Therapy. I was very frustrated with the lack of personalized care with the PT services through my insurance and decided to go else where. I tried SoCal PT and I am so happy I did. Even though they were not in my insurance, it was worth every penny and it was still pretty affordable considering all the attention and care you get at every session. I have seen them for an ankle injury and hip injury. DJ and his team are the best. DJ is so knowledgeable & amazing at what does. I can not thank them enough for helping me through my injuries. I have only received physical therapy once in my life, as it was for a case of plantar facitis several years ago. DJ was the skilled physical therapist who helped me overcome those issues. In just a mere 3 sessions over a few weeks, he quickly analyzed the problem, gave me intense, yet effective treatment, and gave me several very helpful tips to work on the problem on my own as well as suggestions for long-term self-treatments for the ailment. I haven't had a problem with it since and have DJ to thank for it! These are the best physical therapists I've ever had. I've been going to SoCal Physical Therapy twice a week for almost six months now. I don't know where I would be without Christine, DJ and the various fantastic assistants. I have many chronic health issues and physical therapy is a vital part of my treatment and pain management plan. Christine knows my body almost better than I do and can often tell what's bothering me without even having to tell her. She understands the complex needs of chronic pain patients and is always willing to listen and bounce ideas off of. My program (albeit more extensive than your average patient's) has helped me build strength and helped my pain more than I could have ever imagined. They don't cut corners here, every problem area of my body (and there's a lot of them) has a specialized program. We're able to change it as needed and I love how involved I am able to be in my treatment plan. I'm now able to do things that I couldn't six months ago and that is solely due to the people here at SoCal Physical Therapy. I can't say enough good things about the people here, I recommend all my friends here if there's even a possibility they may need PT. If you have to spend a lot of time in PT, this is the place to do it. I will also be trying out acupuncture with DJ in the upcoming weeks and am looking forward to seeing how it goes. read more

I had a motorcycle accident followed by an extensive shoulder surgery including plates, screws, and cadaver ligaments to repair a grade 3 shoulder separation. Further, the surgery cleaned up a rotator cuff, a label tear, among other injuries repaired. I am a young man with 2 toddlers that require a healthy dad. I was a college athlete and really desire full recovery in my shoulder to continue to enjoy the fullness of an active life. This facility was not on my doctor's list of preferred PT facilities (Doc is in Bev Hills and there wasn't any Valencia PT facilities on his list) I am a busy professional and can't spend an extra hour in a hr car every day to head to the Valley, so I decided to check this place out with the thought in the back of my head that if they weren't up to the challenge I'd choose a different facility. I am so happy that I chose this location because of how close it is to my house. I can't image a better facility to do my rehab at. Their hours are extended to be flexible with my busy schedule. The facilities are clean and well taken care of. Their machines are modern and nice. Most importantly, DJ and his staff are very knowledgable and professional. He is intuitive and very skilled and his "style" gets to the underlying issues so that balance and ease can be restored. Acupressure, muscle retraining, and fine tuned ability to know his client's body and needs makes all the difference and brings progressive and relatively speedy healing. He works with sports teams to clients of any age to bring them back to wellness--not dependence! My daughter had 2 recent and extensive surgeries on her distal femur at SMUCLA . Her surgeon referred her for 24 sessions of PT but let us decide on where because it is easier for us stay local. I saw that SoCal PT had good reviews so scheduled my daughter for an initial consultation. We arrived early for our 2:30 appointment just to be sure our forms were filled out correctly. We were still waiting to be seen at 2:55, so we left. Obviously, 25 minutes late, without any word from a therapist, is extremely disrespectful of a patient's time. read more

I just started here about two weeks ago and I love it! DJ and Christine are super nice and so are all the assistants. I just had surgery on my ACL using a cadaver graft and it can be hard getting your strength back and starting PT right after surgery. I started treatment at SoCal Physical therapy in November of 2012. I went there after a long history of dealing with persistent achilles tendonitis. I had been working with a local ankle doctor and physical therapist for about two years. I went through Topaz surgery to correct the problem, wore a fracture boot for two months and had somewhere between 150-200 physical therapy sessions. Not to mention the thousands of dollars I spent on co-pays and office visits in addition to all of the hours that I devoted to this. After the surgery, I did all the required physical therapy and was then discharged. Within a month I had symptoms again. When I went back to the doctor, he said that the surgery didn't work and now we need to perform the more invasive surgery which involved detaching my Achilles tendon. I requested that I get an MRI of the Achilles tendon, I wasn't going to let anyone work on my foot without knowing what was going on inside. I took the MRI result to DJ at SoCal Physical Therapy. He told me he thought he could help me. I was at a point that I was so frustrated, discouraged and my ability to walk and stand was greatly compromised. My injury was limiting the quality of my life, I was disabled, and now I had hope of getting better. I started therapy three times a week and my condition improved. I continued to get better each week, I even got to the point that I was able to walk fast on the treadmill for twenty minutes. I had come so far I couldn't believe how well I was doing , my big fear was, will it last. I was so afraid of regressing, would my symptoms and pain return? I am so happy to report that it has been a couple of months since I have been cured and I am still doing great. I am so thankful to DJ and all of the staff at SoCal. I am back to walking every day again, I have an active life that is not compromised by an injury. DJ and his assistance were able to accomplish all of this without surgery. I can say I'm very happy with So Cal PT. After back surgery in October my doctor recommended I start with aqua therapy. There are only 2 places in SCV that have aqua therapy. The other place, which I won't mention, was a horrible experience from the moment I walked in. So Cal PT uses the pool at the YMCA which is conveniently located and they have a locker room for those who need to use it. DJ and Christine are always spot on with finding the area that was giving me trouble and working it out. Front desk staff is nice and friendly. The aids are attentive making sure you're doing your exercises correctly. I love that they have you doing your exercises, that don't require equipment, in a private room and not out in the open like other places I've been to. I actually enjoy coming here. The therapists are extremely caring and friendly and the place just has an overall good vibe. But most of all, I appreciate DJ's ability to listen and correctly diagnose the underlying issues that are causing the problem, even things that doctors either miss or don't take the time to correctly assess. A typical session will begin with warm up, specific exercises for your condition, followed by manual therapy (which can be very painful, depending on the tightness of your muscles) and icing and electronic stimulation. SoCal PT has really improved my mobility and reduced the pain significantly. I like to interview and try multiple places for medical issues as I find that the right place and right doctor makes a world of difference. There are only a couple of PT place around here that I feel has truly helped me and this is one of them. I recommend them highly. read more
