Found out about the Social Cycle from a friend and always wanted to try it. Both my friend and I had an upcoming birthday so we decided to do a 2-hour private tour in the evening to celebrate. The bike had seats for 17 people, some peddling and some non-peddling. We invited enough friends to completely fill the bike. The booking process was very easy online and the entire amount is required in full at the time of booking. There are plenty of FAQs on the website so you know what to expect before you go. They even email out the waivers ahead of time so everyone can sign digitally and save time. Our captain Stephanie was super accommodating and reached out to me the day before to make sure all of our questions were answered and to plan out a tentative itinerary. Since we're locals, we already had an idea of which places we wanted to hit. Stephanie was knowledgeable about what the best route would be to maximize our time on the bike and at the bars. When we got to the meeting spot, Stephanie and her co-captain were energetic and ready to help us celebrate. They explained the safety rules, we plugged in our playlist, and then we were ready to ride. We started at Oreana, a wine tasting room, then Lama Dog since they have food and our people were hungry, and ended up at 7 Bar since they have a full bar so there were enough drink options for everyone. The time on the bike between each bar felt really short (about 10 min) but I was actually glad because it's very tiring (especially after a few drinks). We all had a blast dancing on the bike and riding around the Funk Zone and were happy to have the Social Cycle team make our birthday celebrations so special. I would recommend this unique activity for both locals and visitors to have a great time with friends and make awesome memories together.

Yowzas! Social Cycle is such a good time! This eye catching, group pedaling apparatus has long caught my eye in San Diego, Sacramento and Palm Springs. I'm so glad that we finally have a pedal pub crawl in the beautiful backyard of Santa Barbara. I rented Social Cycle for a two-day, private event with up to 16 passengers each day. We met in the Funk Zone across from Metropolis Fine Foods in front of Michael Kate and were greeted by the friendly staff at Social Cycle who got us all checked in and ready to go in minutes. After establishing a few ground rules, we were off and pedaling through the Funk Zone. You can plug in your music on their rockin' speakers and play custom tunes while bopping about as you pedal and wave at passerbys. Choose your pub stops or leave it to the pros to pick your route. Either way plan to stick to the Funk Zone with this puppy because you'd be wiped out if you tried to pedal any further. Social Cycle is an awesome team builder or group activity. Theme crawls make it extra entertaining! Be creative! I did a Villains vs. Super Heroes theme for my group and it was amazing! Thank you to our captains Laura, Eryn and Stephen for bringing the energy and facilitating a fun, safe ride. Your navigation skills are unrivaled! I particularly loved right hand turns sitting on the right side. Yipppeee! I would definitely book Social Cycle again ... It's exciting for locals and tourists alike! It's more about the experience and social activity with your friends than touring Santa Barbara. It's a great way to spend the afternoon, celebrate a milestone or commemorate an event. It's fun and active. Check it out!

Social cycle is THE most fun group activity I've ever done!! I went for my 21st birthday with seven of my friends. We went on a public tour and the other people on our trip were so great!! We all became friends very quickly. By far the best part of our experience was our captain Steven!! He was super friendly, gave us recommendations, and even took us to an extra bar (usually the public tours are three stops, he took us to four). Definitely ask for him if he's available for your tour. As for those yelpers who feel like they were "left", the only way you'll ever be left by the nice people at social cycle is if you're late, give an invalid phone number, or completely disappear at your stop (@Julia was on my tour and was guilty of all three). Social cycle is completely dedicated to making sure you have a great time!!!

Erynn was AMAZING!!! This experience wouldn't have been the same without her positive energy! She was so fun, energetic, got along with our group and just made all of us feel like she was one of our friends :)) not being able to drink on board is a bummer but I already knew that before signing up. When you have an awesome driver like Erynn though, it doesn't really matter because she made it super fun. We were a bachelorette group of wild girls and she put up with our craziness the entire time. All the girls had a blast stopping at the bars, getting discounts and just having a blast. We had such an awesome time! Eric was a great captain; he took us to fun bars and gave us drink recommendations since we were visiting Santa Barbara from LA for the day. He also let us hook our phone up so that we can play music and party while cycling. The only bummer was that we were told there were going to be discounts at the bars if we were a part of the tour, but there weren't any. Even then, the prices were reasonable and we still had soooo much fun. I highly recommend it and I will definitely be doing this again! read more

While I haven't done Social Cycle yet, I have to share how awesome this company is. I had booked a private tour for 10 for the end of March, but with everything shutting down due to the Coronavirus, our trip to Santa Barbara was cancelled. Their regular policy doesn't allow for refunds, only rebooking, but Laura was generous enough to offer refunds to anyone who had a booking with Social Cycle. I know how big of a hit that must be to a small business and I am SO appreciative! I can't wait to rebook and just wanted to give a shoutout to their amazing customer service. read more

Our party of 8 rode with Julia and 3 other riders. Stephen and the 11 of us waited 20 extra minutes for Julia's party. We were extra minutes to board at the first stop and only the 11 of us boarded. Visiting Santa Barbara for the weekend. Booked a tour on Social Cycle. Our Captain, Max, was amazing! Very nice, friendly and super funny. We were a group of 4 older women and joined a group of 7 younger people, probably about half our age. Max was great. Alternated the music played between our taste and theirs. I took 9 people out to Santa Barbra for my parents 30th anniversary and everyone absolutely loved it. We went to 3 bars and spent about 20 - 25 minutes at each place. Depending on the bars you stop at, you're on the bike for 5-10 minutes between stops. We had Max and Steph who were a ton of fun. I would definitely request them for our next Social Cycle! read more

We did this for my wife's birthday and it was great. We had 12 rider's and we peddled the hell out of this thing. I'm sure we set some kind of speed record for this cart LOL. Our captain Erynn did a great job and put up with our rowdy super loud crowd very graciously and kept us on track when we lingered a little long in the bars. Recommended for sure and a good work out too. read more

Our group of 11 girls in a Bachelorette party did the Santa Barbara Funk Zone private 2 hour tour. We all really enjoyed ourselves. Our guides were Stephen and Eric. They both were very nice. They offered suggested drinks at the places we visited, and also offered to teach us drinking games if wanted. We did not take them up on the offer, because we had our own scavenger hunt planned, but it was nice of them to offer! I think we got some discounts at some of the bars, but not all of them. The only thing I would suggest to any group doing a private tour, is be assertive in the beginning to find out the planned itinerary and make adjustments based on your group's drinking habits. The great and energetic guides got us quickly on our way to our first stop, without asking about our drinking preferences. We were expecting 3 stops and longer periods of time at each place based on the advertised trip description. When told we had 10 minutes at the first stop we asked questions and discovered we were going to 5-6 places in 2 hours and were only going to have 10-30 minutes at each place. This was too fast of a drinking pace for our group since most of us are in our 30s and can't pound alcohol anymore! Eric was very receptive to our need to slow it down and was very nice about adjusting the plan. I would highly recommend this activity as a very fun thing to do while in Downtown Santa Barbara but I would recommend groups inquire about the plan and give drinking preferences before the start. I would also recommend Social Cycle guides ask up front for drinking preferences/pace and tailor the stops to the group's wishes. read more

Social Cycle tour de Funk Zone was great fun and our Captain was excellent and kept us moving and groovin' all evening long. However, be aware that most of the wineries/bars visited during the tour did not offer discounts to the "group" as stated in the "blurb" on the reservation form. read more

Our Social Cycle adventure was SO fun and our driver Stephen Watkins added so much to the experience. He was fun and casual but definitely took care of us on the roads. He took us to a pub, a tiki bar and a wine bar and all were unique and well worth the visit. So awesome! We scheduled to join a public tour on a whim and had a blast. What a beautiful back drop as you make new friends and hit up some popular pubs. Our Captain Stephen was fabulous! He obviously loves his job and has fun with it. He does a great job of reading the group and their mood. I would have loved to go even further on the bike, honestly could be on that thing all night! The flexibility in route choice and playing your own music were great bonuses. Would definitely sugguest this to others looking for a fun night out in SB! read more
