I was very impressed by the architecture of this building. It's design and décor were interesting and unique compared to the other standard Capitol buildings design that I have seen elsewhere within the continental U.S. This Capitol Building is adjacent to Bushnell Memorial Park and Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Arch. It has a beautiful gold leaf dome and its façade is made of New England marble and granite. From my online research on this building, I came to learn that this building's architecture is of Second Empire & Renaissance Revival kind on the outside and High Victorian Gothic on the inside. The weather on the day of my visit was not good, so my photos may not necessarily reflect how impressive this building looks (I haven't edited them) but I bet on a beautiful sunny day, the photos would make this Capitol building look even more wonderful. This is definitely a place to visit for sightseeing activities when in Hartford.

It is such a neat building with plenty of historic artifacts inside. All the employees were super friendly. People do actually work inside of this building, so it was busy with a bunch of workers trying to make it from one point of the building to the other. Learned a little bit of CT history. We were able to tour the room where the decision was made to make Marijuana legal in CT. About 4 stories tall. We also were able to walk underground over to the legislative building as well! Such neat history is located here also. A lot of comemerative veterans are seen all throughout the walls also which lets you pay many respects throughout your visit. It was such a great last day tour, and I'm glad we visited.

Crafty activity's that include the parents also. They have a really great fall fair which is really funit involves the local merchants, great baked goods, and fun blowup jumpers. They charge the same price every year for an all rides pass. One year they gave out gummy bears for an hour. Awesome one year they had fried dough and it was aweone. They always have a pizza tasting contest that I have yet to participate in!!!!!! looking forward to the Christmas extravaganza. Which I take my son to every year so we can make ornements... The Great River Park is a small park right off the highway, in East Hartford. This park is right on…read morethe Connecticut River. There were a number of people fishing and some were walking. There are some picnic benches if you'd like to be the one with nature while enjoying your lunch. This park is very clean, the grass has been cut recently. There's a substantial amount of trash cans, so no one should be littering on the park. On the other side of the river is where you'll find the capital city of Hartford. With some tall insurance buildings as well as the historic Colt Armory building, that is in plain sight. This is a nice place to step outside, if you happen to be working in one of the close by offices. This however, isn't my favorite or go to park because of how noisy the highway traffic can be.

The statues are cool to see during the different seasons, and it's just a nice, quiet, contemplative area to visit. My office overlooks the park too so it's cool to see what's going on if I ever need to daydream out my window.

This happens on Saturday Sundays pretty much seven days a week. Residence needs peace and quiet, especially on the holidays goes for the loud cars the loud music it's annoying when you work and you cannot get arrest because nobody respect, neighbors or taxpayers It's very obnoxious to hear that every single night before you go to bed !
