I worked directly with Gabriel and felt cared about and respected by him regarding my specific situation that needed to be rectified. He called me first to explain in detail the situation and what was needed to resolve the issue. He asked if I could come to the office to meet with him and go over everything and provide paperwork that he needed to resolve things. I found Gabriel to be professional, respectful and felt he went above and beyond in his dealings with me. All the other visits I felt like a number (4 times in total) by two of the individuals and two other representatives who were very respectful, just as Gabriel was towards me. I have utmost respect and gratitude to and for Gabriel for all he did to help me resolve my unusual situation. What was stressing me out and keeping me up at night and fear of my situation, I feel like I can breathe again and rest easier. I wanted to take a minute to thank Mr. Gabriel & Ms. Tami for the help they gave me on a very complicated case. I have had to go to the center a Las Cruces multiple times. A couple of times for an alleged 40 yr old overpayment when I was a teen, my social security application & once for my husband's disability application. Both of them were attentive and offered us exceptional service. The facility itself is always clean, everyone is polite and the service without an appointment is relatively timely - I think each time I was there I was in and out within an hour. I am pleasantly surprised at the service of a government agency. Thank you Mr. Gabriel & Ms. Tami for your attention, patience, & understanding. I could also hear other clients express their gratitude to the staff for their help. Customers may not write out a Yelp review, but there seemed to be plenty of satisfied customers. I do not even want to give it one star it's unbelievable how I've been waiting three years for a Reconsideration on my disability. The average time is usually six weeks there is no one to speak to no one picks up their phones don't even my attorneys can get through this is despicable and when people need help, there's no one to help them in 30 days I'm going to be evicted from my home, and I do not know a single person. So, I haven't been in a SSA building since 1991. It took something like two hours to get a copy of my social security card. Needless to say, I was expecting the same sort of service from this SSA. I was surprised. I got there at like 2:46 PM (they close at 3:30 PM), signed in and sat down. Before I could pull my phone from my purse to entertain myself they called my name. DID YOU KNOW THEY DON'T CHARGE YOU TO REPLACE YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY CARD?!!! HOLY CRAP, THAT IS AWESOME! Anyways, the whole transaction took like ten minutes. read more

I have been to the SSA office more times than I can remember. Each time I know the wait was between 30-60 minutes. The amount of time depends on why you are there. We had an appointment to complete an SSI application for my daughter. The woman was professional but not helpful. She filled in the bare minimum information for each question. Needless to say she was denied. I have called to speak to a specific agent. At times the phone just rings without an answer, other time I get voice mail. For awhile our calls were automatically sent to the National SSA number. They are very helpful in my experience but the local office is not. read more

This is my second visit to this office in two months. Each visit was excellent. Clean waiting room, bathrooms, great location, lots seats, no standing allowed, 2 quick computer check in. They have very adequate help stations, professional employees. My average wait arriving 10am, was no more than 35 min. They took care of my concerns professionally and quickly. This is the second time I was at this office and it was miserable. The first time that I was there, lots of agents were working and lots of windows were open ..about 15 I believe. This time, there were three windows open and probably 80 people waiting. The agents were surly, unhelpful and downright nasty. It's a disgrace to the administration. read more

They need a nicer greeter to replace their rude wanna be cop security guard. God help you if you made several ''appts'' around the time you come to this place--plan on sitting for over an hour. And if some disorganized sup happens to change up these clerks job description and THEY decide right then who they need to get out first (peeps with SS benefits vs replacement cards) regardless which one of you signed in first--don't even bother asking their wanna be cop greeter who will totally embarass any and all who are questioning that order of help and he seems to have his ''signals'' down packed to the next winodw clerk his opinion of that next-up customer.
