Some people, like me , like to just get things done and out-of-the-way so they don't have to think about it anymore or worry about it They were only taking people with appointments after I got in at around 11:30 AM. Before that they were still taking all the walk-ins and the people with appointments. Every other one was an appointment or a walk-in. Then I get in there and they stopped taking them, and there was only five of us left. Only five walk-ins standing there and they would not call even one of us so we could at least go sit down and wait. It was just a joke. Absolutely ridiculous. So I finally gave up waiting, knowing that I might not be taken care of it all, left and made an appointment for another day. So now I have to NOT look forward to going back again. JUST WHAT I NEED !! Not only all that, but there weren't very many people working at the windows. They really need to get more employees. Things would go much smoother if they actually had enough employees to fill all the windows and take care of people in a timely fashion. All DMV's suck !! The employees are rude and they all need attitude adjustments.

Closed because of a software update for the next three days. And yet I look online and they say…read morethey're open. So I headed to the next nearest one which was a good 5 miles away. They were open, but because of the software update they were only taking people who had put in a reservation. My suggestion is that you should have a red huge button on the front of the website that says make a reservation. And also, you should tell people that they can't update their license by because they need an eye test and a new picture. And finally, if you have a closure, your website shouldn't say that you're open.

I've been trying for a few weeks to get some information for work from the Erie County Department…read moreof Health. Every time I called they were very friendly. Unfortunately the information packet they mailed me never arrived, but I went in person and picked up the information. Someone also took a few minutes to answer all of my questions and help me figure out what was going to work best for us. Overall, I would caution that they are quite busy but that they are still very interested in helping.

I prefer a US Kiss to a USCIS, because after all, American girls are my fave in the world…read more I don't have much bad to say about them because they gave me my citizenship and while the whole process can be a total nightmare in most parts of the country, it's great that Buffalo expedites things and keep things moving and has one of the lowest turnaround times in the whole country, which saved several months and possibly even years of my life. And my personal experience was slightly better than my overall opinion of them. They did a good job processing me, partly thanks to my lawyer, and it was a lot less painless than I thought it would be. It's still not a very professional service and the guards at the border... terrible... however for my actual citizenship process they did a good job and personally I am grateful that it's over.

I've had mixed and confusing dealings with the Department of Refuse…read more First let me say that I'm so grateful for the employees who work in the heat and the cold year round to keep our garbage totes emptied every week. But this isn't actually about them , it's about my garbage totes and the Refuse Control Department. I've had a couple of things happen to my totes. The lid broke some how during one of their pickups. It was hanging by one hinge and was very heavy and unwieldy to try to put back on. I called the Department to ask to have the tote replaced. I was informed that it didn't need replacement they could just put a new cover on. Great I was happy with that news and went on with life as normal expecting to hear from them. Or thinking that like the meter readers , they would come and get the lid and exchange it. When it didn't get repaired for another couple of weeks , I contacted them and asked for an update. I was told " well you have to leave it out for us to fix!" Having had no idea how they handled, these things I had taken the tote back into my yard. The lid was replaced and life went on as usual. This time the bar that the machine on the truck uses to pick up the can broke in half. The can had been broken for several..... weeks. At one point the can, in fact after being emptied, was laying on the ground half on the street. Having tried to pick one of those up after a wind storm, I was truly not overjoyed at the prospect of trying to wrestle this thing back up onto its feet again! Time to call the department again to see if they could please replace it. I explained what the problem was and answered all the questions and was told to leave it out and they would be by to pick it up and replace it. Ok well I didn't forget from last time that they expected me to LEAVE IT OUT!!! They didn't say how long it would take so I left it out indefinitely. After several days , and accumulating garbage in my house, I called back and explained the situation, and was told ..... "You're only supposed to leave it out for the day not the week!" Feeling like I simply can't win , I said I had left it out for the "day" and ( frankly too afraid to bring it back in in case I created a problem again)it had never gotten picked up. There was a pause on the other end of the phone and then I heard " I don't see anything about a broken tote to be picked up here." Back to square one. Today I waited to see the fate of my garbage tote. I heard the garbage truck come. I heard the recycle truck come. I finally looked out to check and see and I'm very happy to say that this time the broken tote was gone and a replacement was in its place!! To the gentleman who never left the instructions that my tote was broken I say " why" and ask how is a customer follow instructions if they aren't given any specific instructions. To the second gentleman who followed through at the Town of Amherst Department of Refuse, I say Thank You ! This lady really appreciates not trying to wrestle the tote off the ground when it falls over off the lift!
