A total nightmare. I'm doing my best to get off disability. They stopped my payments because I'm in my "trial period". They say I have used all nine months. The people in this office do not know what they are doing! I receive different information from them than I do from the Social Security toll free line. Because of this, I have had to return several times and each time I am sent away without resolution. Unbelievable, inhumane, rude treatment of people. They don't deserve even 1 star, however they had to have a rating to get a review. People in wheelchairs, infants, it doesn't matter you have to wait outside in the hot burning sun! Don't step past the mark where there's some shade or you'll be asked to leave. Inside another long line, then after the first you sit down and wait more to be seen. Staff at the window are cold hearted and unfriendly. I asked to speak with a supervisor because the clerk wasn't listening to what I was saying; he told me he knew what documents I needed and refused to look at their own printout. He told me no that he knew his job, that he was taking a break and didn't want to see anything else I had. Then he got up and left. I spent almost all day there, 7 hours, and got nothing accomplished. read more

When you get here, you need to wait outside! After that, you come inside & there are two lines. No one tells you which line you need to be in, or bother to ask what do you need. I was almost at the front of the line, then I was sent to the other line because I was not on the proper line!! It's packed!! It doesn't move fast at all!!! read more

I had a great experience today at this Social Security Office. Initially, I was nervous as there are so many negative reviews and I heard people have to wait outside in the hot sun for 2-3 hours. I came here a few days ago around 2pm and was told that in order to avoid a long wait, I had to come early before they opened and there would be a fast track line. So I showed up at 8:15am today and there were two lines so I got in the fast track line, this line is only for changing/replacing social security cards, appointments, etc. After about 30 minutes of waiting outside, they started letting us in, one by one. They gave me a number and I waited for less than 10 minutes to be called up. Then I got called up and was out of there in less than 5 minutes. The whole process took less than an hour and everyone that worked there was very friendly! Couldn't have been more pleased with my experience. read more

UNBELIEVABLE. I went there today, checked in at the first window (after security humiliated me and made me sit in a chair and remove my high heel shoes in front of 100 people because I buzzed their metal detector) and explained to the man that I was needing a replacement ss card for my son. He asked if I had an ID for him, yes, original birth certificate, check. Then he asked if I had his insurance card, yes. Check. He gives me a number and i sit and wait 90 minutes (this was my lunch hour, that went way over an hour!). I finally got called up and went to a different man at window 2 and he asked for the identification. No problem, here's his original birth cert. Then he asks for his insurance card. No problem, here ya go! NOPE! The man tells me "Oh, we don't accept Kaiser". HUHHHH??? You aren't billing them! They didn't tell me 90 minutes ago that CERTAIN ins cards aren't accepted! Such crap! I waited all that time, and nothing! Then he tells me, oh well do you have another form of ID? Sure! I brought a copy of his driver's license! NOPE!! Can't accept a copy! Soooo my 17 year old son who is sitting in class right now was supposed to drive around today to school and work WITHOUT his driver's license? Then this dude tells me, well, do you a SEALED copy of his school transcripts? HUHHHHHHH??? Unbelievable! Needless to say I left empty handed. I called the 800 number to talk to someone and the recording said "your hold time is 55 minutes" Ahhhh! That's how they can get away with such BS rules! You can't reach a person to complain to! Yeah there is a line. Of course, there's a line! BUT I gotta say my experience here wasn't half bad. So I waited about an hour to finally get checked in. I knew it would be about that long since I got there around 9:30 am, after they were already open. And then​ when I got to talk to an employee, I was told I didn't have the correct documents to prove my child's identity. Apparently you need a sealed and stamped school profile or valid insurance card to do so, which is NOT what I was told over the phone. I was told over the phone through the customer service line, that immunization records and a certified birth certificate would do the trick. NOT TRUE. The reason this office is getting 4 stars is because of their staff. The security here took the time to acknowledge and greet my kid. And when I got to to talk to an employee behind the desk, he was very kind in assuring me that if I could get the necessary documents in the same day and return ASAP, that he would make sure I got helped out right away. That meant I got to skip the line the second time around. So maybe the lines suck. But since when has anyone ever gone to a government office and not had to wait? As far as I'm concerned, the employees at this office are patient and attentive people who do their jobs to the best of their ability. read more

This has to be the worst social security office ever especially if your on disability or retirement , these people here are so damnn dumb , the most longest lines ever , and they accuse you of stuff that's not true , oh yea you were overpaid , ok cool weres your evidence at and facts, then they give you the hardest time ever just to get paperwork and submit it so u can prove there wrong , of course they never hit you back and never follow thru with there paperwork , I wish they had an integrity unit to fire people working at this SSA office for accusing people with no evidence , also wen they accuse you of being overpaid or sumthing they never call you and explain why , they just say fuck you pay us back , I had to move back to my hometown , and my new social security office back in my state said how can they not recognize that this was a mistake on our part In the SSA system , it goes through to a live human in the computer system once SSA computers send a overpayment alert , an average intelligent human being would know that you weren't overpaid and the system was wrong , i told my new worker exactly wtf I was saying , my new SSA office said they must have mentally retarded handicapped people working at the SSA office in San Bernardino , witch is OK cause SSA doesn't discriminate against disabilities , but at the same time not every retarded disabled handicapped person can perform the basic job of an SSA worker , I started laughing so hard , anyways if your on retirement or disability move to another state were it's cheaper and the SSA people know how to do there job right , cause here they really don't , read more

I never went down to the Social Security Administration, but had a phone interview. It was fantastic the whole time! The Case Worker, Ms. Absher, was very elite and extensive in her knowledge, very professional in placing me in comfort and answering ALL my questions. She is to be commended for her forthright manner and ability to do her job tirelessly. If there was a way of giving her ten stars I would have. Working with/for the pubic is not an easy feat to do while remaining balanced with a professional manner. Ms. Absher did that and more. Bravo to her supervisor and those who hired her. read more

My name is Deborah Jordan, I fax a reconsideration for a letter I sent Social Security on February 27, 2015. I was sent a letter dated February 18, 2015 however I did not receive the letter in the mail until February 23, 2015. I fax over to Social Security a reconsideration (Appeal) on February 25, 2015. Something told me to call and make sure it was received. Previously I had mail a letter to San Bernardino Social Security Office and never received and correspondence back. On February 27 I spoke with the very kind and patient Mrs. Marquez. She was so amazing and had such a compassionate heart. She told me she could not locate the fax I had sent and ask me if I could send another fax. I sent another fax that same day February 27, 2015. I then called back to Mrs. Marquez and she told me she had received the fax and was giving it to Mrs. T. M. Campbell. In the letter dated February 18, 2015, it states "Appeal In 10 Days to Keep Receiving The Same Payment". I did file my Appeal or Reconsideration within 10 days. However, my payment did stop. So I called the Los Angeles Call Center on February 13, 2015, I spoke with Elaine (it was quite difficult to understand her due to her accent. So I ask to speak to someone else and that person name was Elizabeth. I was told that I would have to deal with my local office on this issue. I was also told by Elaine that if I did not have my Reconsideration in by Mid February that my check would be stopped anyway. Huh? I ask is that the 15 of the month and she said yes. I ask her how could I get in the Reconsideration if it was not sent me until the 18 of the month? They did say they could see that San Bernarndino did receive my reconsideration on March 27, 2015. I then ask why was my check stopped and I had received no notification telling me it would stop although I had my Reconsideration in within the 10 days as the letter stated. They said I would have to deal with the San Bernardino Office. I know for sure that my reconsideration letter was given to a Supervisor Mrs. Campbell according to Mrs. Marquez. So I felt that there was no need for me to speak the San Bernardino Office and I have always found them no very helpful. Mrs. Marquez is the only one that has ever been helpful. I think I am in the position I am in because the lack of communication. I gave SS all the information they ask for and them some. I ask if I file a complaint against the San Bernardino Office they told me yes. Then I was told that someone would call me concerning by five so I could file the complaint. As of Monday February 16. I try to San Bernardino Office this morning about 9am. I spoke to a man and I told him my problem. He ask when did I file the reconsideration? I told him the 27, and he could see it on the computer. He actually said Maam you do not have to spake to me in a hostile way. Huh? Because I am telling him his job, I am being hostile. The definition of Hostile I am not. Annoyed very much so and I should be. For someone to refer to me as hostile because I know that my reconsideration was scan in March 27, and he could get that information. I gave you guys all the information you have requested and then some. I also sent a written letter to you guys about original decision. There is nothing about the process that has been fair and I have actually tried to do exactly as I was told. My tone was never hostile. read more

My Case Worker will not return my calls. I've had important information regarding my health, to update my file and I have had to leave 5 messages. All five time he did not call me back. I went to submit the information from my doctor and the line was around the building. Well I'm filing for SSDI because I cant stand on my legs. Then the State sent me to a Spine and bone so called doctor, for my case. The doctor on "F" and 4th, what a joke! The doctor never even touched my back, spine, no xray, nothing. He talked to fast, this appointment means my life!! I will be homeless, I'm a homeowner soon to lose everything because of the severe pain I have lived with for years. Now I'm older and its unbearable! I worked 37 years. This doctor plans on saying I can work! That's just what SSDI wants to hear!!. This doctor is a sham. My professional doctors at Kaiser have examined my back and it didn't take 2 minutes!!.. What a joke the system is. read more
