This is one of those hair salons that's tucked away in a strip mall you probably drive by all the time without realizing it. When I first entered the salon, there was no one at the front desk, so I stood there for a minute or so. There was a guy sitting on the couch who I assumed was also a waiting customer. He looked up and asked if I was waiting for anyone since he worked there. Dude, if you work there, why are you chilling on the couch with headphones in while there is no one else at the front of the salon? But I digress. The salon itself is chic and classic, like the kind you would expect to find in NYC or some other big city. However, I was actually there to get a massage, so I can't say anything about the hair services. I got a massage with Ellen, who started working in the salon recently. I found out about her through Groupon, where I got a great deal on the massage. She was very sweet and bubbly and made sure she was getting to the issues I wanted addressed. I felt a lot more relaxed physically and mentally after the massage. The major downside was the sound of a vent or something in the ceiling rattling. Not the most relaxing sound. The walls must also be pretty thin because I could hear conversations elsewhere in the salon, despite being in a private room. So this doesn't seem like the ideal venue for a massage therapist, but it could be workable with some changes. read more

Used to see dagny for years. By that I mean My first ever appointment was in middle school and my last one was after I graduated highschool. She never did me wrong and used to color my hair beautifully! Until the final time. She arrived late for my first appointment, sent me 2 WEEKS with a whole head with one pass of bleach and a trim. $250+tip and for my second appointment did my full color another $250+tip. As we were doing the coloring process I noticed a huge chunk of brown hair peaking through the beautiful blues I had put in. She missed an entire chunk of hair when she did the bleach!! There was nothing I could say or do about it at this point since I had color put in already. She told me during the process that she doesn't do fashion colors anymore and only does them for certain people. Which is nice and all, but of course made me discouraged to come back. She used to do all sorts of fashion colors for me in one go (it was kinda my whole thing) SO $500 plus around maybe $40 tip that's $540 ALMOST $600 DOLLARS PEOPLE!! For a bleach cut and color. So in conclusion as a customer of Hers for about 5 years (growing up in her chair) and always tipping her well for her great work it was very disheartening and disrespectful for her to charge me out the ass for my hair and scam me since she missed chunks of my hair in the bleach and color process. Other than that the color came out great but it faded super patchy after like a month. I'm sorry dagny but I'll never be back. And If you're reading this, go somewhere else. read more

I've gotten my hair cut and colored here too many times. First off I had one lady who showed up to the appointment 20 mins late and I had asked to go all over lighter. She gave me highlights instead. That's not what I wanted. The second lady that I got dyed my hair lighter but if I pulled up parts of my hair you could see giant hard lines that were jagged and uneven. I couldn't put my hair half up because you could see how messed up it was. The next time I went back she put so much toner in my hair it was blue for a full month. These are both people that you get in a days or week notice when you call. I've heard good things about only one stylist and it's Geneva who is impossible to book unless it's months in advance. read more

I had an appointment with Dagny for my daughter on the day of her high school graduation. We had been in regular contact for a month in which I had sent pictures of my daughter. On the day of the appointment (and the graduation), she contacted me at 6 am to cancel because I had a groupon (which she knew when I made the appointment) I told her that my 17 yo daughter would be heartbroken but she didn't care. I scheduled an appointment with the Ellen on Sept 5th, I showed up about 15 minutes early for my appointment and when I arrived I got a call from Ellen, the masseuse, saying she was just a few minutes behind but would be there shortly. I went inside to wait and one of the other employees said there was also another person there waiting for an appt at the same time. When Ellen finally got there she went to the other person who had been waiting and apologized that the booking was weird, but that technically I was the one with the appointment. The other customer didn't look happy (for good reason) and I felt very uncomfortable so I said that I would leave and reschedule. Ellen called me a few minutes after I left thanking me multiple times for leaving and said that she wanted to offer me an additional complementary massage due to the mix up and my being willing to leave. She said she would get in touch the following day to reschedule. I called Ellen the following afternoon to re-book my original appointment; she said that she was driving but that she would call me back when she got to her destination. It has now been over two weeks later and I still have not heard back from her. Maybe her destination was South America and she is still driving? I have called her a few times and left numerous voicemails about getting my appointment rescheduled and I have never heard back from her. The double booking of the appointments in the first place was definitely unprofessional however I understood because it was a problem with how she has her website set up. I was very disappointed but willing to reschedule. I was not expecting Ellen to offer me a complimentary massage in addition to the original one I had booked, I even told her that wasn't necessary. However ignoring my phone calls and voicemails is not only unprofessional but extremely rude. Scheduling them has proven to be impossible - I have left several messages for Ellen over a period of 2 months, none of which have been returned. I eventually contacted groupon for assistance, who reached out to the merchant, promising she would reply. She never did. I understand someone could be a sole proprietor, and be very busy, but this is no way to run a business. I am requesting a refund from groupon due to inability to schedule this service. read more

The salon itself - beautiful. I made the mistake of purchasing a groupon with Dagny. I had been trying to get in with her for about a year but the timing on my end was terrible because I fly in and out of town frequently. Finally texted her and stated the exact words from the groupon and asked if she's rather me purchase through Groupon or pay her directly? She said to pay her directly. I asked for the groupon that is a single process color, conditioning treatment, wash and blow dry for $59.75. After my service which was decent, she took my card and on her phone the charge was for $165?! What?! I said oh is this the Groupon price? She kind of mumbled adding up oh groupon is $65 and long hair fee. My hair is right on my breast, and super super thin. So $110 extra for what? I've disputed the charges with my bank since I didn't want to refuse to pay and cause problems. Don't make the mistake of going through groupon Visa gave her her money back, but Wells Fargo returned the money to me. Dagmy received her money back but thankful my bank had their customer's back. Terrible hair dresser, terrible customer service, and doesn't let you get a word in while she talks nonstop about her son and cuts you off. read more

Do NOT ever go to Soho Hair Salon, The Carol who did my hair totally messed it up. She ruined my hair color . She doesn't even know how to do color , she is probably color blind. Part 1-I was referred to Isi Martinez because I heard he was good at what he does. I made an appt for 10 am but he rescheduled it to 1pm. We both actually walked in the building together. He took the stairs and I took the elevator as I had 2 kids and my mom with me. When I entered the Salon he greeted me and I told him who I was and that I had an appointment with him. He saw the kids and my mom sitting on the couch. He continued to ask me to have a seat and asked what I want done. After that we went inside his office room as he starts to get me ready for my hair lift color. One kid did come inside his room wearing socks only. She sat on his chair and touched his bag and played with one or two magnetic brushes he had hanging in the room. She would come and go from the room but went to my mom and the other kid. I first noticed Isi combing my hair hard and pulling slightly with hair breaking off a couple of strands. I thought maybe he's upset with me because I brought kids to the salon but he didn't say anything to me either. He continued to put on the foils and the color on hard on my head and working extremely fast and sloppy as colors dripped on the drape and on my cheek. Yes, he did wiped them off. But that's not the point. He only did a partial as he never asked me what I wanted done. All he said after I described what I wanted done with my hair was, I knows exactly what you want. After the color what set and foiled I was seated under the heat. I watch how he treated the next customer and as they went in his room, he slammed the door closed. Whereas he keep the door open while he was working on my hair. Yes,the girl child came to where I was at and touched the mirror and twirled the chair but nothing was broken. When in his hair room she was looking through his postcards and hair magazine. After he was done with his second client he took me to rinse my hair in the back. He wasn't gentle or used the warm water you're used to. He scratched my scalp harder than any stylist I've ever known and used cool to cold water to rinse my hair. We then proceeded back to his hair room to cut and dry my hair. He made small talks to me but I believe he was faking so he didn't look rude or mean to me. After I was done and I went to cash out at the register, he gave me his phone to sign for my payment. As soon as I signed and handed his phone back to him he left the register really fast. No thank you for coming in and I hope you enjoy your time. No real genuine customer service. I even gave him over 20% in cash tips that I had to go to the back room to give to him. -Here I am keeping quiet as you hurt me throughout my whole session with you. Trying to see why you were acting mean and hurting me intentionally and having to fake your half ass customer service. I'm a person, too. Common sense or not, you had the upper hand when I walk into the salon with them kids and another adult. You could had turned me away or stated your salon policy. I do know other store enforcing what they don't allow in their store/salon whatnots. Instead, you went ahead and abuse me as a customer and treated me wrongly and retaliating against me. You neglected to enforce your salon policy at the greetings. Plus, for your information, please do not lie to your followers that you had to run around after the kids while I was resting my hair as you were not doing so. My mom was watching the boy and yes he stood on your couch with shoes on. Yes the girl was about to jump on your chair but she didn't and she had socks on. Isi, you are mean, rude, abusive and you need customer service schooling. Your abuse to me is one that I'll never forget and will continue to tell people that you will intentionally hurt your customer if they brought kids or did something wrong. I will never recommend you or your salon ever again. This was my second time there and you and your salon is off the grid with or without kids. It doesn't matter if you are the CEO or leader. You're supposed to enforce rules not neglect and abuse your customers and still take their tips they give to out out of courtesy and knowing you work hard at your job. You unfortunately rather abuse and rant not stating the facts and your cruel intentions and abuse on me and my hair. read more

They did an AMAZING job on my hair! I have had my hair done by both Salma and Carol. They are both wonderful and gave me exactly what I was looking for with highlights, lowlights, and a much-needed haircut! The environment is clean, welcoming, and very professional! The women are hilarious and made me feel as though they were happy for me to be there! So if I could I would give this zero stars. This is specifically for Selah massage in the salon with Ellen. I had a horrible experience. I ordered a massage on Groupon with her for my husband. First of all I could not get ahold of her to set up an appointment I emailed and called. Heard nothing. So I contacted customer service for Groupon to cancel my order unfortunately since it had been a week I could only exchange it for something else. So I agreed. That same day I got a call from her and I decided to give it a second chance so I set up an appointment and re purchased. The day of the appointment exactly 50 mins before she called and cancelled and asked to reschedule so I said okay. Today was the day of the new appointment she was a no show and didn't even return my call or text. None of the stylist in the salon knew her schedule because the are independent stylist as we were told. Just super unprofessional in her part. read more
